My village burning to the ground. That’s what I saw. During the commotion I saw familiar faces but none of them my family. I run towards my home, for it to be burned down. I walk backwards bumping into a dark clothed person. He starts to grab me. I close my eyes out of fear and then I’m back at the water with Elvie. “What were you saying Ashiya? Elvie didn’t seem to think anything was wrong. I assumed all that was just a second of time. Not to worry her I responded with an OK and didn’t mention what I had seen. I need to make sure what I saw wasn’t just a dream. Elvie and I headed back home. “Well Ashiya, I wish you luck.” Uh? “Hopefully your mom gives you an earful like my mom will for being out so late. Elvie already knew my mom was more lax than hers. Elvie I told you not to stay out so late. You are your own undoing. “Whatever it was worth it. See ya.” Yea see ya. I make my way home. Everyone’s asleep. I get into bed but I can’t sleep. I keep thinking about what I saw in the vision. I felt fear but the emotion that overwhelmed me more was curiosity. Why did he show me that? A warning? Maybe if I look up once again he will show me something else. That question took me straight out of bed. I made my way outside. Fearing what I might see if I look up, I hesitate. I look elsewhere to see a figure with a black cloak come closer towards me. I didn’t ready up a stance and I didn’t say anything. My knees buckle. The figure soon arrives and speaks with a clean deep voice. “Are you trying to look up.” The man said. I stayed silent. “I’ll take that as a yes. I heard the people from around here believe in the “Stargazer”.” My curiosity yet again beats my fear. Sir you said from around here? I ask ignoring his other remark. “Oh, does the village try to hide information about whats beyond the village.” Well I don’t know sir. There’s not much of a reason to talk about what’s beyond since no one ever leaves. “Understandable. Well yes, the world is much bigger than what you have in mind.” He says all that while removing his hood. A man looking like he’s in his late 20’s, with gray straight hair reaching to his hips. “Now tell me what happened when you looked upon the stars.” I began to tell him what I saw. The only reason I told him was that I was hoping he would tell me more about the world beyond. I then saw my village burning. I finished telling him my story. I look towards him. Oh no he’s reaching his hand towards me again. “Did you see anyone out of the ordinary. Maybe someone who could have started the fire.” The man saying that in a panicked voice. No I didn’t see anything. The man let’s put a deep sigh. “It was probably just a dream. The Stargazer  just wanted to scare you and showed you your village burning and since you didn’t know other people existed, you didn’t see anyone else.” Yea maybe that’s what happened. I answered with confusion on my face. Why was he trying to make sense of the situation.  He doesn’t even know me. I brushed that thought to the side, my head clouded with questions about the world beyond. “Alright isn’t about time you look up. That what you were going to do already right?” Saying that with a mischievous smile on his face. Yeah I was planning on doing that. I said with my voice shaking. “Ok, go ahead.” I look up my eyes tightly shut. I take deep breaths as I slowly open my eyes. My eyes coming in contact with the stars. All I see is white. I then blink and see a cave. I look around to notice I was at the place Elvie and I discovered. As I make my way into the cave, everything turns white. I blink and I’m back in the village. I look around and then the man begins to speak. “What did you see?” I saw a cave south of here. I don’t know if you saw it but it’s where the large amount of water is and the white dirt. “White dirt?” Yea the white soft dirt near the large and loud water. “Oh, you’re talking about the ocean.” The ocean? “People go to the ocean to go and relax when it’s hot. That white dirt you talk about is called sand and the ocean spans across the entire world.” What is the world so small or is the ocean so big. “The ocean is just that big it’s a wonder of this world.” I don’t know if he really felt this way, but he seemed  to enjoy telling me about the ocean. Maybe because I didn’t know anything that wasn’t the village. You know maybe tomorrow I’ll show my village the ocean and then we can play and hang out. Would you like to come sir. I look up to see such a forlorn look on his face. “Hey kid you know what the greatest thing about life is.” He said with a soft sorrowful tone. I would say family right? “No it’s our ability to dream. We use those dreams as a blueprint for what we wanna do in our lives, but some dreams are better left as dreams. Dreams can also be cruel when they are ripped away from you.” Sir why are you telling me this? “To prepare you for disappointment, but never mind that I never liked turning conversations sour.” Ok yea it was getting a little sad. “Ok then kid take me to the cave.” Uhm. Well the cave is about 2 hours from here and it’s already pitch dark. “Well I can get there in 15 minutes.” How?”Don’t tell me no one here has wings.” No one has wings here just the birds. “Ok then look here.” The man yanked off his robe and wings as dark as the night sky sprouted from his back. “We devils have wings, not everyone has them but we all have the potential to have them.” Devils, wings, the ocean, and the world I don’t know anything about those things and I’ve learned about all of this in one day. What a good day, I can’t wait to tell Elvie. “Hopefully in some life time you can witness all that.” Life time? I said but he ignored me. “Ok grab onto my hand.” I grab his hand. His wings immediately bring us to the sky, and finally I get to see what those birds see. Mountains that go as far as the sky. I look around and laid my eyes upon something so fantastic. My eyes? How can I see all this? It was pitch black and the house I had seen was so big, I thought it was weird no one in the village could see it so maybe I can see very far but how. I was about to say something but we were already at the destination and I was able to see just how vast the ocean really was. It really was as far as the sky. “Hey kid I see the cave I hope it’s that one it’s the only I could find.” We land down and we begin to enter the cave. It took us five minutes to realize we already searched the whole cave. “What why is the cave so small.” We probably went to the wrong one. “This was the only one in the area. Maybe we’re missing something.” I begin to look around some more and I trip which somehow causes the wall in front of me to fall. “Hey kid are you ….” He stopped. That’s because we both saw the green shine emanating from the pristine green glove. The glove green all over except for the 5 jewels embedded in the glove red, white, blue, purple, and black. My curiosity forces to reach my hand towards as I get closer, the shine gets brighter and brighter eventually the glove envelopes my hand and attaches itself on me. “Beautiful the gauntlet. To think such a thing was here.” Sir what is this. “That’s a dragon gauntlet. It gives you the power of the dragon whose soul resides in it. While the dragon was still alive it was trapped in the glove. It’s like a living breathing dragon on your arm. I also believe those jewels on the gauntlet represent the other dragon gauntlets.” There are others? “Yes, 6 in total. There is a story saying that those 6 dragons are destined fight when they are all awakened. Seeing the worried look on my face he told me not to worry. “It’s ok don’t worry. You see the other jewels aren’t powered up that means the other gauntlets are still resting.” Really sir I was scared. I breathed a sigh of relief. The man yawns. “Welp I’m tired let’s get going.” What that’s it I don’t even know how to get this off. My mom’s going to get mad if she sees this. “I’ll train you tomorrow. Please just hide in till I get back.” Please? Why would he say please what a weird guy. “Ok hang on we’re going back. We get back. “Kid make sure to stay safe. I’ll be back tomorrow.” Yea I’ll stay safe, also I invite you to come to the ocean with me and my village. “Kid when dreams are ripped from us don’t give up. Continue living and soon you will always find a new dream.” I wanted to say something but he left so quick. When he left all the questions about him came back. Like why did he assume people burned the village it could have been naturally made. Why did he even come here in the first place? He was also using some strange wording. I don’t know I’ll ask tomorrow. I’m tired I’ll head straight to bed hopefully the glo…. The gauntlet doesn’t bother my sleep.

Afterwards

Hello Me again this the end of chapter 2. I was a little lazy and procrastinated with this chapter a little. I’ll try to pick up the pace. I hope you enjoy this chapter. a little world building and a new character. I have to admit the first two chapters are a little slow but I’m pretty sure the next chapters will go into what the story is truly about. The story about Ashiya and his adventures with the people he meets and the hardships he goes through. Honestly that synopsis doesn’t sell me but I don’t wanna spoil to much so these words will be clues betrayal revenge and war. Again I hope you enjoy and I appreciate any feedback good or bad. Ok see ya in the next chapter.
