Chapter 3: The Training and The Fall

“Ashi, I’ve wanted to tell you something for some time and I think you know what I wanna say.” I think I do. “Ashi I love you.” I wake up from a dream or what I believe was a dream. All I saw was pitch black, but I heard an unfamiliar female voice tell me she loves me.? Was she telling me that I don’t know. Ashi? No one calls me that. Could it have been someone else no that’s weird, no way I was having a dream where someone i didn’t know was being confessed to. So who, the only two people I know who would ever say “I love you” to me would be my mom and maybe someday Elvie. No wait maybe another vision from the Stargazer, but I didn’t look at the stars. Uuuuggggghhhh! My head already hurts. I realized I let out a loud grunt of frustration but no one told me to be quiet. I look around the room, but everyone was gone already. What time was it? Usually Dactus and Rebecca would be the last ones up. I guess I was now. I check that my gauntlet was still wrapped around my blanket. Thank goodness my mom didn’t see. I walk out the room with the blanket still wrapped around my arm. “Hey Ashiya!!!” Elvie? What are your doing here so early? “It’s the afternoon.” What? “Yesterday’s adventure must have tired you out.” Yea I guess so. “Also why do you have your blanket wrapped around your hand?” It’s a long story. “It’s ok I got time.” “What a dragon gauntlet. That so cool. Let me see you use it.” Well the thing is. I don’t know how to use it. I don’t even know how to take it off or if I can. “Uhm, that’s why you had it in the blanket.” What’s up Elvie why are you smiling? “Don’t play dumb. Go ahead ask me.” What the. What are you talking about? “I’ll train you.” Would you? “Yea, I already train myself so let me teach you as well. Plus you need it your weak physically and with offensive magic.” It would be nice to be strong. Maybe I’ll be strong enough to protect you. “Whh..aatt ?” Elvie with her flushed cheeks. Yes! She’s blushing! She definitely liked that. I think it’s time I’m 16. I’m old enough to ask her to marry me. I’ll do it at the ocean. Elvie I want to show everyone the ocean. “The what?” Oh man i almost messed up. I didn’t tell her about the man I had seen that night. Hopefully I can brush it off. The water area. “Oh, ok that’s the name you came up with.” Yea it is. I said nervously. “Let’s show everyone tomorrow. Today will be the start of your training.” So soon why? “I need stronger so we can go on more adventures and add to our dynamic duo.” She said brandishing her semi rusted sword. “And what might that be Ashiya.” My jaw dropped. That voice it can’t be. “Hi, Mrs.Vermillion.” “Hello Elvie. I’m just checking up on Ashiya and seeing why he hasn’t left the house, but now I see he has found something interesting.” My mom. A woman with short white hair just reaching her shoulders, standing at a tall 182 centimeters. She lets out such a delicate aura that no one else in the village has. An aura that makes anyone feel pure. “Let me see your arm. A dragon gauntlet amazing!” She had a serious look on her. Mom! You know what it is. “Yes I do. I saw them when I ventured out with your father. I had seen all of the users perish during their fated battle. All except the white dragon, apparently the white dragon has won the most out of any dragon.” Mom if you knew about what’s beyond the village why did never tell us or let us see. “You see your father and I wanted to show you but once he suddenly disappeared I found it to dangerous to venture out.” Mom do you know why dad left. “No I don’t but, I do know he didn’t leave us because he wanted to. He loves all of you and I just know it pained him to leave.” I smile and go to hug her. She signals Elvie to come and join us. “Yes I’ll join you mom.” Elvie cried. “Ok Elvie I leave my son to you.” Mom said while winking at Elvie. I had the biggest smile on my face. Mom had just gave me and Elvie her blessing for marriage. “Yyyees mom” Elvie answered while facing the floor her face turning boiling red. She gets up with that flustered look still on her face.“Ok Ashiya let us start your training.” We head off to the edge of the village where Dactus and Rebecca play. This time there was the usual duo and my younger brother by a year Diodora watching over them. We walk past them. Dactus and Rebecca busy with their stuff and Diodora simply gives us a wave. “Ok this is the spot. Now first things first what does it do.” I don’t know. “Ok how about focusing your magic to the gauntlet.” Ok yeah that’s a start. I begin to focus my magic into the gauntlet. It begins to shine a green light in between all the other jewels. ENDURING MODE ACTIVATE!!!! A loud voice erupted from the gauntlet. A green jewel appeared right in the middle of all the other jewels. “Well that was easier than expected.” Elvie then with as much might as she could pats me on the back. CONSUME!!! Oh,I see now. That pat hurt me, then the gauntlet used that energy from the impact and put it into the jewel. “You got all that from just my pat on the back?” Well it hurt. “So you felt the energy go to your gauntlet.” Yes. Just the gauntlet and not me I don’t feel anything different with me. “Ok so all I gotta do is beat your ass some more.” Woah Elvie where did you get a mouth like that. “My dad has been teaching me.” Elvie’s dad does go out of the village a lot I would assume he also knows abo- booom! “Ok Ashiya did that work.” …….. “Ashiya! Oh shit did I kill him!” What was that Elvie why did you use magic in that punch. “I wanted to give you more energy.” RELEASE!!!! Well your weird ways work their magic once again. “You bet your ass my methods work. After all I’m the smartest in the village.” When the village only has 46 people I would be as confident as you. “Shut it.” Hahahaha. “Let it out then, now that the gauntlet is powered up.” Ok let us see. I raise my hand out and focus my magic into the gauntlet. A green orb begins to make shape getting bigger and bigger. Elvie watch out I’m going blast. Here I go. What? The orb is disappearing. Kaboom!!! “Ashiya are you OK!” Yea I’m fine. “Oh thank goodness.” The gauntlet gave me its left over energy to protect me if not for that I would have died. “What was that?!” It was nothing Diodora. Diodora, Rebecca, Dactus and what Gwyn. Gwyn the second oldest of the girls of my family. Gwyn also having white hair like my mother and emitting that gentle aura. She was my mothers favorite or that’s what I believed. “What do you mean nothing. Something exploded here didn’t it?” Booommm!!! What was that? No no no no no no no nnnnooooooo!!!! I turn around to see fire engulf the village. “Ashiya snap out of it we gotta and find the rest of our family.” Diodora said. I nod ok. As we begin to run a magic circle appears below us, consuming Dactus, Rebecca, Gwyn, Diodora, Elvie, and me.

Afterward

Hello me again. We are once again at the end of another chapter. Exciting now right. Things are starting to pick up. I’m so excited to get into the meat of it. Now my thanks. Thank you readers for reading and hopefully you enjoy my story and thank you high school dxd. The light novel high school dxd encouraged me to write this and many of the ideals are taken from there. Like the dragon gauntlet is similar to Issei’s boosted gear and the devil concept is similar but I’ll make changes that make it my own! Fun fact and a little embarrassing for me but this story was originally high school dxd fanfic but I never wrote any of it down which I’m thankful for.
