The Freaks

Ever since the Witches were born, the discrimination against them was strong. They were named the “Paranormal,” “The Absurd,” “The Wicked,” but — in this day and age... they were mostly “The Freaks.”

Magic was a thing that existed ever since the Dark Ages, but — why do humans hate using magic if it’s beneficial you ask? Power comes with a cost. Magic makes you pass human limits. They break the Order of Nature. Well... When you use magic, your brain takes a hard left turn. If you overuse it, your head blows up. You try to pass your limits, your mental composure breaks. Humans never wanted to be “Freaks” so... They did whatever they could to stay away from this mental illness called “Magic.”

However, the Freaks somehow survived and passed down their blood to humans who seek Power. So, when Jamie Cross finds out that his biological father is actually a “Freak,” and gets carried away to the Freak House, (the academy for untrained witches) he must do everything in his power just to survive this life as a Freak.
