October 20th, 1911

Wroclaw, Poland (Owned by German Empire)

[3rd Person POV]

Hitler wondered why the Polish people were against the ruling of the great kaisers. He questioned it everyday. But the Saintess or Erika always had an answer. It is because of their history, culture and heritage to which they don't want destroyed or tarnished. Which Hitler find understandable since if Austrian or German history was touched and changed, even he would be mad.

For the past few years, Hitler and August worked hard to establish a spy network in targeted countries and mostly the results are mixed as for Italy, they somewhat have a spy network, but it is very limited in scope as its only in the north of Italy. Not the southern part which disappointed August and Hitler but it's better than nothing.

For France, they find it surprisingly easy to establish a spy network with the help of the commoners that live in either the slums or just getting by. They only wanted a decent salary and a promise that the pay was good. To which Hitler and August delivered. Unfortunately, most officers can't be bribed as it's still within the tight control of the French high command.

August got a lucky break with successfully bribing 2 french officers that had decent positions but not involved in overall confidential matters. Which was fine as it took them 5 months to even bribe one that needed the money.

Now their new orders coming Erika herself is to head to the polish lands and find a man named Józef Klemens Piłsudski who was at the time in Wroclaw establishing a paramilitary organization to train new polish recruits to resist the Russians and hoping to free Poland from it's oppressors.

"I'm starting to think that the Saintess is a prophet. She is keeping track of people that even I don't know if they're useful or not to our plans." August mumbled as they headed to Wroclaw to find Józef as soon as possible as the earlier they convinced him to help or join us the better. As the Saintess stated.

Erika argued that, this man is vital to have him on our side as in Erika's words, 'he will be the founder of a free Poland once the great war ends. Hence we must befriend him to make a puppet out of him. But be careful. He is not stupid. He will demand equal compensation even if he agrees to this. But if he refuses. Then the fate of the polish people will be in the hands of the Russians. And I do not want to live in Poland as of right now if that happens.' Erika said grimly.

Hitler recalled how the Saintess was a little bit pale in mentioning Poland and Russia. And that terrified him if the Saintess feared Russia, there must be a reason why since in his eyes, Russia is very weak politically and militarily. Unless something drastic happens, Russia can't bounce back that quickly.

"Prophet or not, the fate of one of our future plans rests in finding this man. Reports from our people in Wroclaw say he was last seen in a public school giving speeches." Hitler scanned through the reports given to him earlier before the trip.

"Mhm. What a pragmatic character. Supposedly he has asked the backing of the entente but was rejected." August scanned through the other reports that monitored Józef and his life.

As they were passing by villages and towns, many polish people saw them and frowned as the Kaiser didn't do exactly well on governing the polish people that were living in this part of Germany as Hitler glanced towards the people passing by showing raw emotions of hatred, sadness, and a fever of polish spirit. To which Hitler understood why the Saintess wanted to have the Polish people by their side. Since in Hitler's mind, you cannot crush polish spirit..not anymore ever since the Russians took it too far.

"I can guess why the Saintess wanted us to befriend the Polish people. We might not even be welcomed here as I fear we will be attacked by the locals." August stated as he looked at his window yet again and sighed.

"Don't worry, the sooner we find Józef, the better. Besides they can't stop us yet at least..but that line is growing thin by the day. And I want that line to thicken rather than losing it all together."

A few hours has passed and they finally arrived at Wroclaw, where they got out of their car and proceeded to look around to search for Józef. Days turned to weeks as they tried to look everywhere. Even in bars with no luck.

Eventually August and Hitler settled down for a moment in a famous bar as they both sighed tiredly as they're mentally exhausted at this point.

"Where the fuck is this guy? Unless he moves around like a goddamn ninja, he should be here." August grumbled as he grabbed his ordered beer and rubbed his scalp. Clearly annoyed by all this.

For Hitler, he is also equally annoyed as he pondered for a moment and speak out his thoughts on the matter.

"Either this is a test, or they're clearly mocking us from a distance.

August scoffs, test or not, it's working on pissing us more bit by bit. I swear to god I'm gonna order more people down here just to find this guy.

Hitler just glanced at his best friend and took a drink at his beer.

As they were drinking beer, a certain individual was watching 4 tables away from them. It was Józef himself along with his men as they watched the 2 Germans searching for him for almost 2 months.

Józef didn't know why they were looking for him, but he had to admit, he respected the tenacity and will to continue searching for him who was constantly moving.

"What do you think Konrad? Have you checked their backgrounds?" Józef looked at his right hand man for more information.

"Yes. So far they're clean but it's suspicious why both of them, who are clearly wealthy, are searching for you."

"Indeed. Have you heard of society then?" Józef said to his men.

"Society? I thought that was a rumor…" Alina quietly whispered. Clearly confused on why the society would bother them.

"Oh the rumor was indeed true. It's just that it's somewhat secretive but not so secret if you have the right channels in the underground black market." Konrad shared his knowledge.

"The main question is, why would they want to find me. Either they wanna recruit me to their cult or whatever, or discuss something privately." Józef speculated as he took a chug out of his beer.

"Then is it time for us to reveal ourselves to them?" Konrad said, just to confirm everyone's decision on this matter.

Most of the people beside Józef nodded as Józef stood up and walked towards the 2 men and ordered his men to close the shop for a moment to which they did as the owner of the said shop is one of jozefs friends.

Hitler and august suddenly noticed something is amidst as someone put up a sign that says closed on the door and they both looked at each other and looked at the man approaching them that resembles the one they wanted to meet for a month now.

"Tell me Germans. Why have you come all the way here from the German empire, and to specifically find me. As far as I know, my life is…boring so to speak in everyone's eyes." Józef stated as he sat down in front of them..while jozefs men surrounded Hitler and August as they had their hands in their waist in case they did any funny moves.

Hitler and august just looked at the men of Józef and shrugged it off as August answered first.

"Our saintess wants to ally with you in your upcoming independance plan."

Hearing what August said, nearly everyone was shocked except Józef as Józef just hummed.

"Now that's quite a bomb you've dropped on us Mr…?"

"August. And this is Adolf Hitler or Hitler for short. And yes we have reports dating back to your exile in Siberia to your daring plans to remove Russia from Polish lands once and for all."

"Reports also suggested that Lithuanians have a hand in this as well."

Józef glanced at both of them before replying, a bit amazed and surprised at how much they knew about his life.

"And who pray tell, gave you this information?" Józef inquired.

"You should know by now Mr Józef. It's our Saintess from the Family of Königsburg, who also founded the German Imperial Society."

Konrad and the others were shocked at the reveal that both of them were members of the society as Hitler and August revealed their tattoos to symbolize their allegiance and loyalty.

Józef looked at the said tattoos, then at them and asked the most important question. "What does society want from me?"

Hitler looked at Józef and answered carefully without breaking eye contact.

"The Saintess…wants to offer help in exchange for Polish friendship." Hitler vaguely said as Józef narrowed his eyes at the answer Hitler gave.

"What kind of help Mr Adolf? Unless you're not open with me, then this meeting is finished." Just as Józef was about to stand up, Hitler spoke a crucial word that changed jozefs mind completely.

"We will fund you and your cause. The Saintess understands that the Polish people aren't exactly happy with the current kaisers that rule Austria Hungary and the German empire."

"In exchange, all you need to do is to abide by our…requests from time to time."

Józef sat down and considered the proposal carefully as he knew and the Saintess knew that he lacked the money to further his goal of freeing Poland. But why know? All of this sounds suspicious as they're offering everything with only friendship and requests in exchange. There must be an agenda.

Hence Józef half demanded answers from them.

"This is all good to be true…and even if this is true, how can we trust you?" Józef pointed out, as the rest also agreed as they waited for the other party to answer.

To which August answered. "We don't have any motives to lie to you. That's the only way I can prove it to you.

"I've heard rumors that the society has quite the connection in the German empire and that they're rich and never run out of money is one rumor as well…" Alina shared her information that she knows about to the rest of the group as Hitler and August snickered at the rumor that is true in hindsight.

Meanwhile Józef was pondering in silence as he weighed the pros and cons of asking the society for help. "A friendship and a favor is all you're asking?"

"That's all we're asking from you." Hitler repeated his words.

"Then we all agree to accept the aid of the society. When can we expect the aid to arrive Mr Adolf?"

"A week or two since we're operating close to Russian held territory after all. Once Poland is free, you will have to agree to help us in the future as we will continue to aid you if your…nations and ours cooperate in the future." Hitler emphatized cooperation as Hitler doubted that the polish would ever cooperate with them. But he was at least optimistic about it.

"We agree to this terms. We will never forget your help" Józef smiled and offered his hand.

August took it and lightly Shaked it to signify the start of a friendship between the polish and the Saintess herself.

"We expect full cooperation once Poland is independant once again. I hope you understand this." Hitler again reminded Józef.

"Yes we understand. Enjoy your meal." Józef said, as he stood up and exited the bar along with his comrades as August and Hitler once again looked at each other and just continued to eat for now and process on what the fuck just happened.

"I don't trust him. Not one bit." August stated without any words mixed.

"Agreed. I can tell hell just take our money and pretend that we don't exist and just thank us as a formality. I wouldn't be surprised Poland will backstab us in the future as the Saintess predicted."

August agreed as thankfully, he has his own countermeasures as a few weeks later, he would place saboteurs in hiding just in case to sabotage polish weapons and other military equipment once he's given the signal to do so.

He would do this a few months later as Erika or the Saintess won't take no for answer.

Meanwhile, Józef and his men a few weeks later

"Józef, the promised goods and money is here." Konrad reported, as Józef stopped writing and stood up and headed for the truck that is loaded with wood crates full of weapons and the more sensitive cargo was placed in fragile crates.

Józef and his men opened it to reveal stashes of money neatly arranged as Józef then smiled as his plans just accelerated by a good margin thanks to the societys help.

He also knew that double crossing the society won't do him any good, but it is all for Poland. And in his mind, it's Poland first before everything else. Hence he will promise in front and then betray them later on as he knew the central powers can't win against everyone. Especially the British.

I just hope that Poland will be strong enough to contend with both Russia and Germany once all of this is over…may God help us all if we ever to lose our land again. Józef prayed and hoped that it wouldn't happen again.

Then a few years later, the great war happened and Józefs goals and plans will be tested. And his loyalty to his nation be challenged. But one things for sure, Poland will exist. But not without sacrifices and blood.
