Luciel was living at the very end of the northern part of the outer walls of the Ninth Sanctuary. As such, it took him a good forty minutes walk before he finally made it to the central area of the Northern outer walls.
The moment he stepped foot into the vicinity of the central area, the scenery around him suddenly changed and became more lively.
There was still a stretch of ruined and charred buildings on all sides. However, compared to the buildings in the outer area, these buildings seemed to have taken less damage.
There were also signs of some of them being repaired to some extent. The streets in the central area were still littered with cracks and were also in poor condition since no one bothered to maintain them. However, there were fewer abandoned cars on the streets.
Compared to the outer area, the streets of the central area were bustling with activities and filled with people. Most of them looked extremely malnourished and starved to the bones. Others were just lying on the side road with no energy to even howl or beg for food.
People with missing limbs were everywhere. Some used canes while others were crawling on the ground like bugs.
It was an extremely tragic and depressing scene even for someone like Luciel. Aside from that, there were also many people walking around with blunt weapons such as machetes, knives, metal pipes, hammers, etc.
“No wonder the previous Luciel didn’t like coming to the central area, this place is truly dangerous,” Luciel murmured to himself while watching in disbelief as a man was beating a woman to death with a long metal pipe in broad daylight.
The starved woman did not fight back or rather she didn’t have the power to. The man sensed Luciel's stare and gave him a friendly smile.
‘Psycho.’
“This place is indeed not suitable for the average person to live.” He concluded.
It was as if everyone in this place had their moral compass broken and were all crazy. The other people walking around didn’t even bother to look at or even tried to stop the man from beating the woman to death as they continued on their merry way as if it was something normal.
After looking at the reactions of the other people in the street, Luciel only shook his head and let out a heavy sigh before he continued on his merry way as well.
“I guess I am no different from them.”He whispered to himself as his mouth suddenly curved upward into a devilish smile.
He had no use for the woman so why would he bother to save her? Not to mention, he wasn’t in his best condition. He might be in the possession of the godly gravitational field system, but its power was still weak at the moment.
What he needed now was to be low-profile while strengthening the gravitational force and increasing the gravitational field of the system.
The outer wall was a lawless place where reasoning was useless. It was filled with criminals from various sanctuaries, merciless killers, and brutal murderers.
Every day, innumerable people died. Huge fights occurred all the time. Strength was the most important thing here. Those without the ability to protect themselves were at mercy of the strong in this place, just like the poor woman.
Knowing this, how could Luciel put himself in danger?
Meanwhile, as Luciel was only a few minutes away from the building where the black market was taking place, he was suddenly blocked by two individuals.
He had already noticed them walking toward him in the distance, however, because other people were walking behind him, he paid no further attention to them as he didn’t think he was their target.

By this point, the two middle-aged men halted their steps a few feet away from him and stood still. One of them had a burnt scar on his face while the other was missing two of his front-row teeth.
The scar-faced man’s eyes inspected Luciel up and down while his lips arched in a friendly smile, “Lil’ Bro, may I know which gang you’re from, how shall I address you? I’ve never seen you in the area before?”
Looking at the scar-faced man’s fake smile while hiding his true sinister intention, Luciel couldn’t help but smile inwardly.
Even though he appeared to be very respectful, Luciel already knew what they had in mind and why they were asking him those questions.
The scar-faced man and his partner already planned on robbing him or even capturing him to sell him as a slave. He was a healthy and good-looking young man with all of his lambs intact. People like him would fetch quite a sum in the black market.
It was something that happened all the time within the Outer-walls, capturing people and selling them as slaves. However, they wanted to know about his background before making their move.
There were many powerful gangs in the central areas and they didn’t want to turn into a corpse by mistakenly provoking one of them which was why they were extremely cautious.
“Which gangs do I belong to?” Luciel repeated in a taciturn manner while sneering secretly.
“Yes, who knows, maybe Lil’ Bro’s gang is an ally to ours and we can be of help to you…..” Answered the middle-aged man with the missing teeth with a kind smile while revealing yellow teeth.
“You think too much, I don’t belong to any gang in the outer walls.” Luciel cut in, “ So, you need not worry about loose ends after killing me.”
Even though Luciel didn’t plan on looking for trouble, that didn’t mean he was afraid of it. He was never afraid to kill or get his hands dirty.
That was even more true in this apocalyptic world where the strong had no regard for human lives, and where notions like forgiveness, tolerance, and leniency were meaningless.
Tolerance would make one appear to be weak, forgiveness would make one appear to be foolish while leniency would make one appear to be afraid.
Meanwhile, both the scar-faced and the other middle-aged man with the missing teeth were stunned, neither expected Luciel would be so ‘direct.’
Exchanging a glance between them, there was faint doubt in their eyes as their attention fell on Luciel once again.
Did not belong to any gangs?!
Then, where does this malnourished and weak-looking young man’s confidence come from? Both of them could tell Luciel was just a regular human, whereas the two of them were strong battle-hardened criminals. With them joining to attack, this young man had no chance to escape.
“Make your move.” While both were still stumped, Luciel spoke again, “I’m giving you one chance, letting you make the first move.”
Hearing this, the two of them frowned as they stared at Luciel, confusion and vigilance spiked as they exchanged another glance. Yet, no one moved.
