Holy shit!

The instant Luciel’s eyes were adjusted to the morning light after getting out of the abandoned building, his mind went blank as he stared at the disastrous and destructive sight in front of him.

Even though he had already seen how the outer walls of the Ninth Sanctuary looked like from the memories of the previous Luciel, he was still unable to hide his shock after personally witnessing it.

He didn’t dare to believe his own eyes. Seeing it through the memories of Luciel and witnessing it with his own eyes were two different things.

The visual impact of seeing it with his own eyes was several times stronger than seeing it through the memories of Luciel.

Ruined towering residential buildings loomed high on all sides, their windows and doors agape in seeming astonishment at their destruction.

Some of them were burned to a crisp and their charred remains rose like the rib bones of a decayed leviathan, long ago stripped of anything of worth or use.

The morning winds wheezed through these hollow structures like the last breaths of a dying man, carrying the stench of rot and mildew.

Sigh!

‘So this is what remained of Metropolis, one of the most populated and wealthy cities of the great Arcadia Nation.’

Even though the Previous Luciel was born during the New Apocalyptic Era, he knew a great deal about the state of the world and Arcadia before the apocalypse.

The Ninth Sanctuary and the Outer walls where he’s currently living were all part of Metropolis, one of the most populated and economically developed cities throughout the great nation of Arcadia.

Its architectural structure was once considered a masterpiece by even the most gifted architects.

The city was littered with numerous well-designed and intricate residential and commercial buildings. The streets of Metropolis were always bustling with activities.

But at present, it had degraded into a wasteland of dilapidation. The once magnificent buildings stood like charred logs, some of them leaning precariously.

The pavement below was cracked and crumbling. Even now, after all this time, ash still drifted through those streets. A long line of charred and rusting cars could be seen in the distance.

Looking through where giant buildings once stood and gazing over the scorched and wasted land, the idea that he has transmigrated into a post-apocalyptic world has now truly been cemented into Luciel’s mind.

It would be a lie to say he wasn’t a tad afraid at the moment. He now had the same forlorn sense you sometimes get when walking through a war-ridden and chaotic apocalyptic land.

‘This is truly a no-man land.’

At this moment, Luciel just stood there without any sudden movement. He took a deep breath as he was trying to let everything sink in and immerse himself into this new reality like a skilled actor taking on a new role.

There was no turning back. This was going to be his new life and reality from now on. He needed to steel his heart.

He either adapted to it as quickly as possible or became one of its countless victims, unable to adapt and accept this new reality.

After a long while, Luciel’s eyes turned profound as his determination became even more resolute.

‘I can’t believe my heart and resolution wavered after seeing this scene.’ He inwardly thought.

He might not be as strong as those powerful hunters, but he has something that they didn’t ‘ The Gravitational Field System.’

Gravity might be considered the weakest of the four fundamental forces of nature but its power was nothing to scorn at. It had an infinite range of use.

Furthermore, whether weak or strong, it was still one of the four fundamental forces of nature. As such, being able to control and manipulate one of the four fundamental forces of nature pretty much made him a natural disaster trapped in a human body.

After regaining his bearing and confidence, Luciel didn’t waste any time as he made his way into the northern part of the outer walls.

His destination was the black market that was held every two days in an old abandoned mall. It was known as the black market because everything can be found there, from slaves to weapons and food, etc.

As long as one had the means, one could purchase anything there, even a citizenship card to the Ninth Sanctuary and magic crystals.

“Let’s hope that the magic crystals would be able to provide enough gravitational points to increase the gravitational field and force of the system.” Said Luciel with an anticipation look on his face as he continued making his way towards the black market.

Aside from food, magic crystals were the main reason that Luciel was going to visit the black market.

According to the information he was able to acquire from the system, to obtain gravitational points, one must feed the system’s core or the black Rubik’s cube energy which it would in turn transform into gravitational points.

The system didn’t specify what kinda energy he needed to feed the system’s core but Luciel had the feeling that magic crystals would do just fine as it was the crystallization of a mysterious and powerful energy known as mana.

As matter of fact, he didn’t even have a clue how to absorb the energy from the magic crystals. He only heard that hunters absorbed the energy from magic crystals to speed up their training but he didn’t know how.

However, he wasn’t worried about that at the moment. The most important thing for him right now was to acquire a magic crystal. As for how to absorb it, he’ll worry about that later.

Forgot about absorbing it, he didn’t even know how he was going to get one as he didn’t have a penny and things like magic crystals were extremely expensive.

“I’ll find a way to get one even if I have to steal it or even kill for it.” He murmured with a murderous look in his eyes as he continued to delve farther into the ruined city.
