The Adventurers made their way towards the village as they rode their horses about, however upon arriving closer to the entrance, they noticed two guards were slaughtered on the ground, blood already shown leaking from their neck.
"Fhiron… you didn't see this before entering?"
Grimhild questioned him.
"No Goddess Grimhild, I didn't- I was more focused on keeping myself hidden from the godhead in the sky, in order to scans parts of the village."
Fhiron was standing on the black carriage, feeling ashamed of himself.
"Just what is happening? This doesn't seem right. Out of all places, the village of gods is suppose to be the safest in the outside lands."
Kyto questioned the scene before them whilst they proceeded onwards into the village.
"This is gruesome… so many guards of the village has been killed. Then what about the gods?"
Jean looked left to right until he noticed something—
"…N-Ngh… my head is… spinning all the sudden—"
Grimhild worryingly looked at Jean as she moved her horse closer to his own.
"Jean, are you alright—"
She reached an arm out, trying to grab his shoulder, until—
"Aghh! My head… what's with this ear-piercing ring? It feels like my heads gonna explode!"
Elizabeth as well was feeling the same way.
"Could it be…?"
Fhiron suddenly realized the solution to this situation.
"EVERYONE BACK OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE! MOVE FAST AS YOU CAN!"
Fhiron would formed a magical circle in front of them.
"Light Barrier!"
Around them would appear a transparent Gold barrier that looked like fog. It seemed to be absorbing mana around them inside the fog, nullifying the surrounding spell.
"It's a mind control spell, and one of the highest Spell Ranks as well."
The Elf King looked up at the face in the sky as the group slowly moved outside the village on their mounts.
"…You mean someone placed a mind control spell on the entire village? Then why weren't you, Kyto and Grimhild effected by it?"
Elizabeth cluelessly asked the king.
"It's because it only targets humans. That's the only logical reason to it, as it cannot effect gods Kyto, and elves like me."
Fhiron placed his hand upon his chin in thought.
"I could nullify the spell if that is the case, however it will take a great amount of mana, and I wasted all of mine when I came to Midgard."
Jean looked back at Fhiron in thought.
"Oh yeah, you crossed Yggdrasil to appear in Midgard from your home-realm. What exactly is the elf king doing all the way out here actually?"
Jean asked in a curious tone.
"…Bwahahaha, well in search for more wives of course! I heard gods make the perfect wives to bed!"
Grimhild cringed.
"…Hopeless as ever…"
The golden mage suddenly gotten off her horse before approaching the village a few meters away.
"…Then I'll just nullify the spell."
Grimhild looked behind her at her friends.
"There's spell ranks if you all didn't know, and there's Ten levels to these spell Ranks. Using Magic Academy as an example: Blue mages range from rank 1 to 3 in spell ranks, Red mages range to rank 4 and 6 in spell ranks, Black mages range from rank 7 to 9 in spell ranks, and golden mage uses rank 10 and up above that."
Grimhild tapped her wooden staff on the ground a few times, a magical circle now appearing under the staff.
"What's above Rank ten then…?"
Kyto genuinely asked.
"Above that are spells only local legends can use such as Siegfried, King Arthur and witches… maybe a few other races as well since they have more potential than those in Midgard."
She pointed her finger into the sky, remembering something.
"…Oh right, they call them Catastrophe spells."
Grimhild said in an emotionless tone of voice.
"And starting right now, I will proceed to use one."
Elizabeth hesitantly grinned.
"Ahahaha… w-well no surprise there from Grimhild. I'm like one hundred percent sure she can pull this off if she can use Eldritch magic."
Elizabeth rubbed the back of her scalp, sweat pouring down her forehead.
"The heck is Eldritch magic?"
Jean asked whilst glancing over towards them.
"…Let's not talk about it…"

Kyto said, now closing his eyes and sighing.
"Grimhild must've taught you kids magic spells forgotten millions of years ago. She must truly put her trust in you lot…"
Fhiron cried. His eyes were in shock from all of this, and from the fact mere kids said these spells out loud. No normal person would just know of eldritch magic, not even the other races.
"Burning eclipse of the Phoenix!"
Grimhild took the group by surprise as she risen her staff into the air and swirled massive amounts of mana into the tip of it. The wind velocity around them skyrocketed, trees in their radius were taken from their roots and even the guards dead bodies started to rotate inside the swirling mana.
"I-If Fhiron's barrier wasn't casted on us, then the mere winds would've swept us off our feet!"
Jean swayed his hair back while it fluttered from the intense winds that even managed to pierce through the Light-barriers that Fhiron casted.
"HU~AH!"
Grimhild shouted upon releasing the massive swirl of mana at the tip of her staff. Coming outside of it was a large fiery Phoenix that flapped it's wings and suddenly disappeared from reality.
"…She summoned the Burning Phoenix…? Grimhild is truly incredible."
The Elf King eyes lit up like a child watching their favorite superhero.
"She is unmatched by any and all! With her power, she cannot be beaten…"
Elizabeth cluelessly looked at Fhiron wondering what he was talking about.
"—Sooooo I'm confused…? What happened to the Phoenix? It suddenly vanished?"
Kyto and Jean were just as confused on the situation.
"Ah… I see, so she hasn't shown you both any Catastrophe Magic yet. Well then, allow me to elaborate; Catastrophe Magic is so powerful that it's mere release transcends that of time and space with relative ease. It isn't bound by time, nor by gravity, and even transcends that of Fate and causality. Any spell, and any fundamental force cannot stop catastrophe magic unless it's another catastrophe spell itself."
Fhiron crossed his arms as he looked in front of him.
"It's seriously that strong? Then where did the Phoenix thingy go?"
Elizabeth looked up at him curiously.
"It is traveling back in time and destroying the caster who casted the mind control spell. My guess is the godhead in the sky above us."
"…Traveling back in time to destroy a god? I doubt such a thing is possible in the first place."
Kyto was in disbelief to Fhiron's words, but if anything he was half-god, so listening to him would make more sense.
"…And your reason for believing that is?"
Fhiron said whilst raising a brow.
"It's simple: Gods do not exist in the past nor future, even tampering with their destiny and past is impossible. Grimhild won't hit her target, I can assure you of tha—"
"UWOAAAAHHH!!!"
Suddenly a loud roar pierced through the heavens and shook their surrounding area.
"G-Gah… that yell is so loud!"
Elizabeth covered her ears as did everyone else except Fhiron.
"Looks like she managed to hit her target."
Kyto eyes widened in disbelief. He couldn't believe his eyes at first, seeing how the godhead yelled in pain, and slowly burning away in the sky…
"You'll pay! You'll pay for this! I am a god! I am… a… GODDDDD!!!"
As they slowly burnt away to a crisp, their ashes scattered through the sky.
"H-How is that possible…?"
Kyto uncovered his ears and watched its remnants fade away.
"Grimhild is even beyond my understanding Kyto. The things she does with her magic is unbelievable, but I can assume she used her duality magic to force an opposite effect on the god. In other words: she made the god have a past and future with duality magic. She is unbelievable…"
Elizabeth's brain was frying.
"That's so confusing… Uuuu I don't get it! Anyways the situation is handled though right?"
"It seems so. We have no idea why that god was mind controlling the humans, but from the look of it, it was in order to carry out some deliberate plan."
Fhiron said, now hopping out the carriage and walked over to Grimhild.
"Is the god really dead, Grimhild?"
The tiny mage turned to face Fhiron with an annoyed look.
"Who do you take me for? Of course it's dead, however we may wanna leave right now…"
Fhiron cluelessly blinked at her reply.
"Why so?"
"Well… I just killed a god, the other gods will soon find out and be hunting us down. It's not just everyday someone kills a god, so maybe an entire legion will be after us…"
Fhiron eyes jumped open—
"W-Well let's get a move on? What are we waiting for!? Everyone let's take a different path!"
Fhiron quickly ran to the carriage and told the horses to take a different way, and Grimhild soon followed behind on her steed. They all began to leave in a hurry.
"…I wonder… what was that gods plan?"
Jean looked at the village as they escaped the area. His mind lost in thought.
