The Students began to search for their master as they left the Dojo Residence. Searching far and wide they didn't come across anything that was a clue to his whereabouts. The students made separate groups and split themselves up — for Elizabeth she decided to go solo in search for her master.
"Senseiiiiiii! Sensei Izumiiiiii!!!"
She cupped her hands over her mouth and yelled into the sky. They were in the forest that sat right next to the dojo, following an strange and yet familiar scent.
"I smell Sensei's scent in this forest, I wonder how the others are doing."
Elizabeth by herself walked through the forest and checked behind trees, searched the bushes, and looked under logs.
"What am I doing…? It's not like Sensei Izumi is hiding, he's too strong for that."
Elizabeth could suddenly hear rattling in the bushes which forced her to look towards the direction.
"Sensei Izumi is that you? It's me Elizabeth!"
She quickly jogged over to the rattled bush, smiling with a look of relief.
"I'm glad I found you Master! People were so worried— Huh?"
She suddenly stopped in her tracks and took a few steps back. Her eyes widened and fear washed her face.
"W-Who are you…?"
Behind the large bush a man had walked from the side, holding a dagger inside of his hand.
"Look what we have here…"
Another sound was heard behind Elizabeth which made her turn around, noticing three other men approaching her, all holding weapons of some kind.
"Who are you people? Have you hurt Sensei Izumi?"
One of the men looked at the other and laughed from the girls comment.
"Ahaha… aahahahaha! You are one of his students? Such a small child like you? What a joke! He's training anyone at this point."
Elizabeth was quite short, standing at 4'8. However her appearance looked different from the other children, having platinum-blonde hair, deep blue eyes, and average build.
"So what of it? You think just because I'm a child that Master Izumi wouldn't train me?"
The men behind Elizabeth started to walk closer.
"Let's just kill her and get this over with."
"K-Kill me? Heh… you are really asking for it!"
Elizabeth would look behind her at the man with the dagger, and all the sudden he pulled someone from behind the bushes… however they appeared to be—
"Gatka…? Senior… Gatka?"
Elizabeth was shocked at the sight, seeing her Senior brutally beaten, his face pummeled inwards and teeth missing from his mouth.
"What have you done to Senior Gatka?!"
Elizabeth shouted at the men, anger fueled within her body.
"We killed him of course, along with your other classmates who were in search for your master."
Elizabeth had her pupils dilate, hearing that her skilled and talented classmates were killed had sent her in a panic. She didn't want to believe it, even falling to the ground, scooting away from them.
"No way… they're all dead? How can a group of guys like you kill them? I don't believe it! I don't believe it! I don't believe it!!!"
She bumped into a tree behind her and noticed the feeling of bark, leaving her surrounded by the four men.
"Let's finish his last disciple off once and for all. The only talented martial artist that's allowed to exist is our Master, Kumdo!"
Elizabeth didn't know of this martial artist they talked about as she was too afraid to even ask. Her body trembled up against the tree and noticed the men in front of her raising their weapons.
"I'm gonna die…"
She bowed her head, accepting her fate to die with her other classmates.
"No one ever liked me anyways… maybe dying is the best thing I can receive…"
She closed her eyes and had tears stream from her shut eyelids.
"This world is cruel, too cruel…"
"Yes child, it indeed is a cruel world."
"H-Huh…?"
Elizabeth reopened her eyes and could see everything around her had been stagnated, as if it was frozen in time.
"W-What's going on? Why is everything so still?"
Elizabeth quickly got up to her feet, wondering who spoke to her a moment ago.
"Who said that?"
"I did… the one who exists inside of you."
Elizabeth turned left and right, questioning what was happening to her… but she couldn't understand it.
"I don't even see you!"
"Of course you don't, I exist inside your body… but allow me to protrude from within."
All the sudden Elizabeth could feel her stomach burn, causing the girl to whimper in pain… and now noticing a black smoke emanating from her belly.
"Ngh… hurts—"
She closed her eyes until the smoke finally released itself from her, forming a humanoid shape in front of the Rozenheart. Elizabeth took a deep breath and was shocked to see a black shadow standing on two legs.
"…You are… inside of me?"
She looked at the black shadow and fell to her knees, the men around her still stopped in time.

"Yes, I am a demon, and I am the last demon in the entirety of Yggdrasil. I am the last of my kind, and it will stay that way forever."
Elizabeth clueless to this entire scenario had a bewildered look upon her innocent face.
"A demon…? I've never even heard of what a demon is, not even in myths and legends. What are they exactly?"
The demon would scoff at her reply.
"Hmph. As I expected, our name has been eradicated from Yggdrasil entirely, but that's understandable."
The Black Smoke would slowly walk towards the men frozen in time, tapping each of them on their backs one by one.
"What are you doing to them?"
Elizabeth questioned the demon.
"I am turning them into butterflies."
Despite being stopped in time, the men that threatened Elizabeth had suddenly transmuted into black butterflies, fluttering away in the stopped time.
"There we go, they're now dealt with."
The Demon turned to face Elizabeth.
"Us demons existed long ago, before the first witch had even been born. A witch is someone who's born every one million years, and us demons existed before that. We are old as the stars in the sky."
"Really? You guys are so ancient, then how did you become the last of your kind all the sudden?"
Elizabeth curiously asked while they talked in stopped time.
"It's simple… we were eliminated by the witches. It took only a handful of them to destroy us, even erasing our names from Yggdrasil and reality. After that, I managed to escape, hiding in the bodies of other humans who had no magic. They were called Non-Mana borns, however their life expansion was short, only living for fifty years while the normal human lives for at least eighty or more."
Elizabeth hastily replied.
"W-Why Non-Mana borns? What's so special about them?"
"It's simple. Non-Mana borns have no mana; if I was to even touch a vessel with mana then they would die from being corrupted by the touch of a demon, even having them experience a cluster amount of diseases, and curses all together. One without magic is viable for me."
Elizabeth looked down and gently smiled.
"Then… I'm useful for something after all…"
The demon would widen its red eyes, it being the only color in the humanoid black smoke.
"…Is that really your reply to all of this? I'm a demon you know, our kind long ago was savages, even worse than the Giants."
Elizabeth would shake her head back and forth in denial.
"No… you are not a savage Miss demon, you are simply trying to live, and you helped me against those bad guys trying to kill me."
The Demon grew quiet.
"You Naive child, I simply stopped time with my magic in order to prevent them from killing my vessel, nothing more."
Elizabeth had giggled.
"That may be true, but I have a gut feeling that you just didn't want me to die for some reason. It could've been really easy to let me die and find another Non-Mana born yah know!"
The Demon closed its red eyes.
"That's enough of that. You are an very naive child, and arguing with naivety will get me nowhere."
Elizabeth laughed at her comment.
"Ehehehe, you just don't wanna admit it! I'm your favorite vessel aren't I?"
"W-W-Why are you saying that so casually? Aren't you at least a bit of scared about me living inside of you?"
Elizabeth shook her head back and forth.
"Nope, I'm not scared at all! If anything I'm really happy to be help to you Miss demon!"
The demon was stunned by her words, unable to process any of its own, thus it just stared for a few moments.
"…I see, however I cannot let you remember this happening. If you would to accidentally tell anyone that you had a demon living inside of you, even as a joke, you would be executed."
Elizabeth closed her eyes nodding.
"Very well… I understand, but when we meet again I hope I can remember you."
The demon scoffed at her words.
"You will, but that's only when time is stopped. Us demons transcend dualities of time and space, cause and effect, life and death, and all that exists. Our very beings are even incomprehensible to the gods, however for witches… they are even worse than that. That is why my identity must be hidden. If I were to be exposed, the witches would eliminate me and you without a second thought."
Elizabeth questioned her words, a bit confused from them.
"I don't get what you said but I know those witches are scary and bad people! Even if I remember, I would keep it a secret most definitely!"
The demon released a sigh of relief.
"Very well. When time is resumed, you will find yourself awakened inside of your room in Rozenheart residence. There you will be safe."
Elizabeth nodded her head in acceptance.
"Thank you Miss demon… you saved me. I am happy that I have someone like you who would protect me when no one else would."
The demon stayed quiet, but Liz's words did touch their nonexistent heart.
"There's endless possibilities out there, I simply found a possibility where a group of Templar knights found your body laying in the forest unconscious from fear, bringing you back home. Stay safe Elizabeth…"
Now time unfroze, sending Elizabeth back to where it was safe, protecting her life.
