Chapter 86: Prologue [Start to New Life]

It was a great journey with friends, Grimhild enjoyed it dearly. However in the end they all split apart in search for something they didn't have, and that something was strength. Elizabeth and Pippy ventured together to Rozenheart Estate, so that Elizabeth could own up to her crimes, however with Orb as her blessing, she didn't have to worry about a hard punishment due to her luck being infinite and probability even being on her side.

Fhiron managed to wonder off to visit Feerota Kingdom. He's heard there's an woman by the name of Arcana there, and apparently she's a god. Fhiron of course sought to marry a divine woman and now it was his chance to be with one for once in his life. 

Grimhild, Jean, Estrilda, and Kyto were all together however. 

From Jean winning the Skyland Battle Arena, he gave his gold and rewards to Estrilda, and now Estrilda decided to invest that gold into building a kingdom. Yes, a kingdom out of all things… however it was worth it.

The Kingdom was named after her last name, known as the Kingdom of Leegran. Grimhild, Jean, and Kyto lived peacefully here. It took a few weeks to build, however with the help of Ebony, he used his powers to accelerate the construction.

Estrilda was known as the queen. You wouldn't normally think a woman like her would become queen due to her masochistic tendencies, but… here she was. 

Gaining followers wasn't so hard either. They set up their own system in the Kingdom and made their own governmental power. Nearly every race knew Grimhild and respected her, thus Grimhild went out to ask other races in different realms to join their kingdom.

Their goal was to create a kingdom with a mix of races to show that anyone was welcomed… and they succeeded. Without Grimhild this would've been impossible without a doubt.

Fairies, Elves, Giants, Humans, and even most Gods lived here in this wondrous kingdom. 

Currently the three of them stayed in this kingdom for about two weeks now. The others were busy doing their own things, and finding their own paths in gaining strength. 

Meanwhile Grimhild and Kyto had an goal they needed to accomplish, and that was to graduate from Magic Academy from the Mesnil Nation.

The two of them were standing in front of Estrilda as she sat on her massive throne.

"But why? Why do you want to go there? Isn't our kingdom enough for you guys to last a lifetime without the worry of poverty?" (Estrilda)

Estrilda asked with a tone of curiosity, and disappointment. She wanted both Kyto and Grimhild to stay.

"Yes. This kingdom will indeed make life easier Estrilda, and I'm glad we built this place together as friends… but I must graduate from this magic academy, I made a promise to someone that I will." (Grimhild)

Estrilda raised her eyebrows.

"A promise to whom Grimhild?" (Estrilda)

Grimhild bowed her head with a gentle laugh escaping her lips.

"…My brother…"

Everyone looked at Grimhild with shocked faces, not hearing that she had a brother until now.

"B-Brother? Since when did you have a brother? I never heard about this." (Jean)

Grimhild looked at Jean with a bright smile.

"My brother always wanted me to graduate from Magic Academy. He said he wants me to live a normal life, and that I must make friends. I promised him I would do it… despite me making friends already, a promise is still a promise." (Grimhild)

Jean crossed his arms before nodding his head.

"Alright Grimhild… I understand more clearly now. We won't stop you from fulfilling a promise you made to a family member, definitely not me!" (Jean)

Grimhild closed her eyes and bowed to Jean.

"Thank you Jean…" (Grimhild)

Estrilda placed her elbow on the armrest of her throne, resting her cheek into her palm.

"…Hnnnn, what about you Kyto? Why do you want to graduate from Magic Academy?" (Estrilda)

"The reason is simple Estrilda, I want official license as a Mage in order to have access to forbidden areas and certain parts of the world. Official mages who graduated from Magic Academy can access anywhere in the world… even places that are illegal to the likes of Mortals." (Kyto)

Kyto looked down before balling his fist.

"…I wish to change the worldview of the gods, and protect my family. The Cyrodel's are a group of Demi-gods that are despised and forbidden, but I don't understand why. The gods and humans made up with each other long ago during the age of legends… yet… gods and humans mating with one another, is forbidden?" (Kyto)

Jean, Estrilda and Grimhild all looked down. They felt the same way. Such a thing was quite foolish even for the gods themselves. It was even hypocritical in a way… but yet-

"Kyto… your journey in life is important. You wish to protect your family from harm and from execution from them being Cyrodel's. I actually sought to do the same from before." (Grimhild)

Kyto eyes widened before staring at Grimhild.

"…You sought to do the same… from before? Does that mean you wish to not do it anymore?" (Kyto)

Grimhild shook her head in denial.

"No. I will make sure the Cyrodel's are accepted into this world one day. Me and you both will make sure that will happen, however I stopped that goal and focused on an more important one. Once it is finished… then me and you both can work together to help the Cyrodel's." (Grimhild)

Kyto moved his arm to the side, denying her claim-

"NO! I cannot wait that long… I can't sit around and let more of my people be killed just because you decided to focus on an even more "important goal" Grimhild… I can't let that happen!" (Kyto)

Grimhild suddenly knocked Kyto in the head with her staff, forcing him to crouch down and hold his head in pain.

"…Ow… the hell was that for!?" (Kyto)

"Don't yell at me. I will not tell you again." (Grimhild)

Estrilda and Jean chuckled.

"Same Grimhild as always…" (Jean)

"The goal is much bigger Kyto. If I don't complete this goal alongside all of you, then you'll never have the chance to ever save your people. Do you understand?" (Grimhild)

Kyto looked up at Grimhild with tears in his eyes from the pain.

"W-What do you mean by that?" (Kyto)

"We are all together for a reason. I'm certain that you all will find out why sooner or later… it's only a matter of time. But make sure to get your education from magic academy and not let rage consume you." (Grimhild)

Kyto bowed his head down and released an sigh…

"…But…" (Kyto)

"KYTO!" (Grimhild)

Grimhild raised her voice which made the Cyrodel jump in his skin. Slowly looking up, he was met with Grimhild's frowning expression.

"I have seen what happens when you let rage consume you. The Sisters of Fate aren't all so nice Kyto… believe me when I say this." (Grimhild)

Grimhild thought of the times when she watched Siegfried battle Jörmungandr and the other dragons in the Basilisk Kingdom. It made her heartbroken to see such a great hero like him fall from the biased opinions of the Fate Sisters. 

She wanted to change their ways but knew she didn't have the power to do that as of now. Grimhild had to accept reality, thus she would make Kyto accept it as well. Rage consuming him would most certainly lead to absolute death, with no hope of returning.

"…I understand. I also apologize Grimhild. Together we will both graduate from magic academy and accomplish this goal you so wish. After all, you recruited us together, so it's only fair that we listen to you, and trust your every word." (Kyto)

Grimhild would help Kyto back up from grabbing his hand, and dusting his pants off.

"…I am glad. I care about the safety for all my friends, so please mean those words." (Grimhild)

The witch turned to face Estrilda and Jean who were smiling.

"We will be off, Estrilda, Jean. If anything ever comes up, make sure to contact me with Orb. We're all linked to one another with him." (Grimhild)

"You can count on it Grimhild! We'll be waiting for you both to return. Don't get in any sort of trouble." (Jean)

Grimhild blushed as she nodded her head towards the champion user.

"…Yes… of course Jean." (Grimhild)

"Goodbye you two, we'll see you both again in two years or so… at least I hope." (Estrilda)

"Goodbye Estrilda, and goodbye Jean." (Kyto)

Both Grimhild and Kyto grabbed their luggage from the ground and made their way towards the exit of the castle together.

"Master Jean… I always wondered your opinions about Grimhild. What do you think of her as when she pops up in your head?" (Estrilda)

"Huh? That's a random question… well, I think of her as an sort of savior. For some reason Grimhild feels safe to be around… and I feel comforted." (Jean)

Estrilda looked over at Jean with wide eyes.

"Really? You feel the same way? Well I guess it's no coincidence… we were brought here for a reason, weren't we?" (Estrilda)

"…I suppose so." (Jean)
