Chapter 272 -They would never look down on women again! (2)

Edited by: Lulu

In the compound of the Logistic Department.

Fang Jingyuan’s taste had been spoiled by Tong Xuelu’s cooking. Now she felt that the food at home was very bland.

Mother Fang, looking at her languid look, became worried. “Why aren’t you eating anything, Jingyuan? Are you not feeling well?”

Fang Jingyuan shook her head. “No. I just feel that these are not tasty. And, Mom, don’t yell at me just yet. If you have tasted Xuelu’s cooking, you will feel the same way as me!”

“Xuelu’s cooking is utterly fabulous. She also said she will give me a serving of peanut crisps and hot sauce. She is so nice!”

Mother Fang was baffled. “Since when did you two get so close? You two used to fight like two cocks in a ring.”

Fang Jingyuan said casually, “Aye, I was young and immature back then. Now I feel that she is a very nice person. And her cooking is so amazing! If I was a man, I would’ve definitely  married her already!”

Mother Fang, “……”

Fang Wanyuan, who was sitting across from them, looked up at Fang Jingyuan when he heard that. He could suddenly see Tong Xuelu in his head and suddenly felt a bit irritated.

He had thought that Tong Xuelu was just playing hard to get when she didn’t come looking for him.

She had been gone for three months now, and she had yet to come looking for him!

Did she really not like him anymore?

How could that be?

She had always followed behind him since she was a child. She had liked him for years. How was she able to just walk away like that?

Suddenly, an idea occurred to him, and his lips curved upward.

Tong Xuelu still liked him!

Except she had switched up her approach, and now she was buttering up to his family to get to him!

That idea made Fang Wanyuan happy.

Xiao Lu, after being dispirited for two days, finally got up to eat and drink today.

Tong Xuelu let out a sigh of relief.

This chicken was a gift from Wen Rugui. She didn’t want it to just die like that.

The timing for her chef examination was moved up all of a sudden.

She went to take her test after she finished cooking lunch.

Before she headed over to the venue, she swung by the post office and mailed off her letter and items to Wen Rugui.

The second that she stepped inside the post office, she heard a woman shouting into the phone, “Zhou Yan, go to hell! We are done!”

When she was done saying that, she paid her 10 cents and ran away crying.

Tong Xuelu looked at the woman’s back and felt that the name Zhou Yan sounded familiar, but she couldn’t immediately remember where she had heard it from.

However, she didn’t have a lot of time, so she didn’t pay it too much attention.

She quickly headed over to her examination after she had mailed off her items.

The examination took place in a big kitchen. There were three judges. If all of them passed her, she would be able to obtain her chef license.

Everyone who wanted to attend the examination needed to pay 50 cents for registration fees and purchase their own ingredients, which they could buy from the kitchen.

What she needed to make for her examination were one meat and one vegetable dishes.

There were thirty candidates in total, and with the exception of Tong Xuelu, all the other participants were men over 30 years old.

The men all had contempt in their eyes when they saw Tong Xuelu.

“Anyone can attend the examination nowadays!”

“Maybe someone is just rich.”

“Rich or not rich, some people just don’t know their own limit. How could someone so young know how to cook? And a woman no less!”

“Exactly. I can’t stand my wife’s cooking at all!”

Tong Xuelu looked nonchalant. She couldn’t even be bothered to look over their way.

Seeing that Tong Xuelu did not say anything, the other jeered even more. Their contempt for women could not be more obvious.

Tong Xuelu was the 20th candidate. 19 men had gone in with their heads lifted and came out with a defeated look before her.

Everybody started to get nervous after they had witnessed that.

Those who had finished the examination did not take off either. They wanted to see which ones were able to get their chef license that day.

It was Tong Xuelu’s turn before long.
