Chapter 276 - "Mom." (2)

Edited by: Lulu

The crowd burst into another uproar from what Tong Xuelu had just said.

Very few people have cars in this day and age, especially a military jeep.

That means that this girl has a good background!

The couple looked even more unhappy. The two exchanged a look then, the very next second, both of them turned and started to run.

They bumped a passerby standing behind them, knocking him to the ground.

Tong Xuelu cussed to herself and shouted out loudly, “Get them! They are thieves!”

The group of men happened to walk out of the building at this time. When they heard Tong Xuelu, they paused slightly and started giving chase.

The couple were still running very fast even when they were holding a child. Tong Xuelu would certainly have lost them if she was the one giving chase.

The men from the examination, however, were a different story. They were all men in their prime. They grabbed the woman, who had fallen behind, before long.

The man, running in front, didn’t even so much as blink when he saw that the woman was grabbed. He continued to run forward.

Right when the group of men were about to catch up to him, the man made up his mind and suddenly tossed the child backward.

Tong Xuelu’s eyes could not have widened any more.

If she had an inkling that they were kidnappers earlier, she was 100% certain now.

Even the men giving chase were stunned by the man’s act.

They were still a distance away from the man. A few of them threw themselves forward as hard as they could, but they still missed the child.

The boy fell heavily on the ground. The back of his head cracked open, and blood reddened the ground instantly.

Everybody was stunned.

Tong Xuelu hurried over, pulled out a clean handkerchief from her military bag, and quickly placed it over the back of the little boy’s head.

She then shouted toward the passersby. “Anyone have a car or a bicycle? Hurry up and take me to the nearest hospital!”

As soon as she was done asking, one of the judges came by on a bicycle and said, “Hurry up and hop on. I will take you!”

Tong Xuelu didn’t waste any time. She immediately hopped onto the backseat with the little boy in her arms and said, “I’m ready. Hurry!”

She didn’t pay more attention to the couple. With this happening to the child, the passersby would definitely not let them get away.

The judge kicked his feet, and the bicycle shot out like a firecracker.

Holding the little boy, the blood quickly spread all over Tong Xuelu’s hands, body, and clothes.

She looked down at the child in her arms and noticed that the kid was surprisingly good looking.

His little face was fair and smooth, his nose bridge tall, and his brows clean. Except the little boy didn’t wake up even when his head had cracked open.

His eyes were shut tightly, and he looked very pale from the blood loss.

Luckily the hospital was not too far away, so they were able to get there in less than 20 minutes.

Tong Xuelu carried the little boy with her and dashed into the hospital as soon as they had arrived. “Doctors, nurses. Hurry. This child’s head is cracked open!”

A nurse came running over and became nervous when they saw the blood all over Tong Xuelu and the little boy.

The little boy was taken to the ER after some chaos.

While the little boy was being looked at, Tong Xuelu walked over to the judge and said, “Hi Teacher Wang, I think the child had been kidnapped. I trust that someone from the examination venue had already contacted the police. I am afraid you will have to make a trip to the police station and inform them of what is going on with the child.”

Teacher Wang didn’t know that he had run into kidnappers. He nodded quickly, “Sure, sure. I will head over right away!”

After Teacher Wang had taken off, Tong Xuelu recalled the condition of the little boy and quickly told her suspicions to the nurse.

The little boy didn’t wake up when they bumped into each other or when he was dropped onto the ground. She suspected that the child had been drugged.

The nurse hurried over to tell the doctor after what she learned from Tong Xuelu.
