Chapter 315 - "How come I don't know that either." (2)

Edited by: Lulu

Manager Lin busted out laughing. “Alright then. One month it is.”

Tong Xuelu acted as though she didn’t see the mocking look from the others at all. She sat down nonchalantly.

Tong Xuelu headed straight to the CSMC for ingredients after she received the budget.

When she returned to the restaurant, everybody was stunned when they saw what she had in her hands.

Meng Qingqing, “Manager Tong, how come you only bought so little ingredients? This is not going to be enough!”

Guo Weiping and Guo Chunyu nodded as well.

Tong Xuelu, “These will be enough. There won’t be very many customers these couple of days. These are for us.”

Everybody fell silent when they heard that.

Food poisoning was a big deal for a restaurant. Even though Cao Dajian orchestrated the incident himself, majority of the public would not follow what happened afterward.

As far as they were concerned, someone almost died from eating at their restaurant.

As such, there probably wouldn’t be a lot of customers even they had reopened.

And, if there were no customers, the restaurant would go out of business and they would all lose their jobs!

Tong Xuelu did not comfort them.

Sure enough, they had no patrons the entire day.

When an occasional foreigner who didn’t know of the matter was about to walk inside, they were stopped by the locals.

The same happened in the two days that followed.

Meng Qingqing and the others were very worried. Tong Xuelu was the only one who was not worried.

She went about her days like normal and did not appear anxious at all.

As Tong Xuelu had made the bold claim during the meeting that she could turn the restaurant around in a month’s time, many were watching the activities at this restaurant closely since then.

They thought Tong Xuelu had some big ideas in mind when, in fact, she wasn’t doing anything at all!

The restaurant had no patrons for 2-3 days. That was just hilarious!

Yup, they knew it. She was just bluffing.

Seeing that Tong Xuelu was as incompetent as they had originally expected, they stopped paying attention to her actions.

Time flew and it was Wen Rugui’s birthday before anyone knew it.

Wen Rugui had been in a foul mood ever since his return to the base.

Huang Qimin and Zhou Yan quickly noticed that something was off with Wen Rugui.

As such, the three musketeers got together once again.

Huang Qimin, “Did you get into a fight with your girlfriend, Rugui?"

Zhou Yan was all smiles. “Exactly. You know you can always talk to us if something is bothering you.”

Wen Rugui gave them a look and said, “No, we did not get into a fight.”

Zhou Yan did not believe him. “Why are you so unhappy then if you didn’t get into a fight? Oh, right. It’s your birthday tomorrow. Don’t tell me that your girlfriend said nothing about your birthday.”

Wen Rugui’s face dropped when he heard that.

That look on Wen Rugui confirmed Zhou Yan’s speculation. “I was right, wasn’t I? Do you really have a girlfriend, Rugui? You are not lying to us, are you?”

Wen Rugui defended his girlfriend. “She is a very busy person. That’s why she didn’t have time to celebrate my birthday with me.”

Huang Qimin shook his head and signed like an experienced person. “Rugui, I hate to say this but that’s not how it works! You are a man and you need to put your foot down. If you are just going to roll over when she said she’s busy, what is going to happen after you get married?”

Zhou Yan nodded. “Exactly. You are making us men look bad. At this rate, your wife is always going to one up you!”

“I heard that the dean only gets to eat wowotou when his wife gets to eat steamed buns. He dares not sit when his wife tells him to stand. He lives such an undignified life!”

Huang Qimin had an odd look on him all of a sudden. He winked at Zhou Yan and cleared his throat.

Zhou Yan gave him a look. “You alright over there?”

Huang Qimin was distressed over Zhou Yan’s slowness. He said in a low voice, “Dean!”

Zhou Yan nodded. “That’s right. I am talking about our dean. You guys probably didn’t know about this. Our dean is very afraid of his wife. Don’t be like our dean, Rugui!”

Suddenly, someone sneered behind him. “Never mind about them. I didn’t even know about that.”

Zhou Yan shuddered and turned around stiffly. He saw Zhaung Zhenghui, their dean, standing right there behind him.

Dean Zhuang, “I came to tell you that your request for time off had been approved. You can forget about that now.”

Zhou Yan, “……”
