Chapter 21: Chapter 21: a little trip

"The train will appear for about 10 minutes, please wait patiently," said the receptionist.

I just nodded quietly as I went to the terminal.

We are right now in the south part of the city where the subway station usually is. It's currently 6 am right now making me drowsy for a bit.

It has been 3 days since I have first gone to the training room. Things happened here and there but they were usually repetitive.

I also found out that Elysa got kidnap and killed those assailants out of retaliation. She's probably working right now in the convenience store though.

The training I did wasn't that noteworthy except for a few parts. I did get stronger but it was barely recognisable, maybe I'm around 24%? 

Miya said that I could get it around 30% and all but I guess that's if I trained nonstop.

"I hope nothing happens," Jack said while sighing in defeat. Yeah, something will definitely happen.

I forgot to mention that Hela and Jack will be with me. Order from the above I guess?

Jack wears a jacket, goggles, and a red scarf that made him look like he is going on a hiking trip, which he isn't.  

Hela, on the other hand, wears the outfit that we bought for her. The white hair still stands out though which gained us a lot of stairs, like a lot of them. By the way, she also wears a beanie, not sure where she got that thing from.

"Yeah, I hope so," I replied in a quiet voice. I am usually a talkative person but there are just too many people here.

The train arrived and we were the ones that entered it fast. Jack said that he made a reservation at the front which is kind of relieving but at the same time it isn't.

"How long will the trip go?" I asked Jack. Like I said before, I have been long on vacation and I also didn't go out of the city.

"We are going to drop somewhere in a city, preferably somewhere that is close to that forest which is Rosemary city," he said before he stop and then continued again. "We should probably arrive in around five to six hours."

"That's way too long. I think I'll sleep here then," I said as I yawn drowsily. 

I then went to a sleeping position in the seats while Hela seems to be only staring at the window looking at the scenery. Seems like this became a hobby for her huh?

Not my thing though, sleeping is still the best.

I opened my eyes, greeted by the ceiling of the train. 

The sun can be seen outside the window and by judging its position, I think it's around noon. Jack seems to be playing some kind of game on his phone while Hela is staring outside the window.

The scenery outside is what you would call a rural area. Farms, houses made out of woods, etc etc. It's also a bit cold which was kind of unexpected since it's noon right now.

"How did the trip go guys," I said after I yawned. I'm not a morning guy and to be honest, I'm more of a night person.

"Boring," said Jack uninterestingly while Hela just nodded. How was that an answer?

"So, we're almost there right?" 

"Yeah, just a few more minutes I guess. Let's just hope nothing happens." 

Jack seems to be behaving somewhat... strange? I also feel something isn't right but I can't put a finger on it. Ah yes, whenever this happens there is some kind of event that will come by in 3, 2, 1...

"Who... Are those people," Hela said as she looks outside while pointing at some people running, those guys are running at a speed of a train... Wait, what?

"Hmm, based on the uniform, it seems that it is one of the SF. I wonder who is he following," Jack said while playing his game as if he expected this to happen. Jack, you're very obvious right now.

"I'll see what's going on. I'll just tail them, who wants to come with me?" I asked them both while I open the window. Those guys may be the reason why my instincts are ringing so I guess I'll see what would happen first.

"Nah, I'll pass," Jack said.

"I... Can accompany you," said Hela.

I nodded as I jumped in the window while Hela followed me.

The two guys ran like a speeding train while also not damaging their surroundings. 

"There... Fast," said Hela behind me.

The speed we are going is matching their speed while also infusing our aura with mode 2 making us very hard to detect. They seem to be having a conversation but I don't hear it... Why don't I test mode 5 here?

"Hela, try to save me if I somehow tripped."

She just nodded like she normally does.

[MODE 5- HEARING]

Mode five activates as my hearing suddenly enhanced while my other senses dulled. 

This is the power of mode five. It lets me enhance one of my senses in exchange for dulling my other once. The cons outweigh the pros right now but if I practice it more then maybe I can at least go on a whole day with just one sense.

I then heard the whole area from people chattering, birds chirping, and even grasshoppers hopping. The headache was also there because my body isn't used to using only one sense.

The guys we were chasing seem to have some kind of casual conversation based on their demeanour and all, what I didn't expect was their topic.

"How many times has it been this week?"

"Four times and you still can't catch me."

"That's because I let you escape."

"Nah, I'm just too good."

"I am better than you and you know it."

"Nah ah."

"You won't get away with this you know?"

"For crying out loud I just stole a frikin wallet from a rich guy!"

"Yeah, that's the 6th time this month."

...

What the fuck is this?

They're talking like they are some good friends going on a picnic. Also, an SF? Seems to be a new trainee- ouch, what the?!

I deactivated my mode five and saw myself crashing into a tree not moving anymore. 

"Hela, when did this happen?" I asked Hela behind me.

"2... Seconds ago," she said apathetically, implying that she didn't put any effort to save me at all.

"*sigh* Anyways, let's go follow them. My instincts still keep ringing even after all that."

She nodded as we then followed those two again. 

We followed them until they got into a house made of straw. We also went the other way the train was supposed to go which meant that I don't have any good indicator of where I am at. Guess I'll just follow the train tracks after this thing.

They both ring around the house while the SF is trying to catch him and the guy being chased is desperately trying to get away.

"You... This is getting us nowhere," the SF trainee said.

"I agree, let's settle this the old fashion way then." Said the guy while sweating very hard.

He then grabbed a nearby stick while the SF grabbed his gun, what they did next almost gave me a heart attack though.

"Who's there," The SF said as he pointed his gun towards his surrounding.
