Chapter 301: The Wedding Had Been Scheduled

Mr. Chen said he wanted to help her. What was his purpose?

Sheng An’ning gaped and wanted to ask further, “Mr. Chen, I still don’t understand why…”

In the end, before Sheng An’ning could finish her sentence, she was dragged forward by the driver in black.

“My boss’ time is very precious and it’s not used to chat with people like you.”

What was this attitude?

Sheng An’ning gave the driver a disgusted look as she said indignantly, “Let go of me. I can walk on my own.”

A complicated light flashed through Sheng An’ning’s eyes. She took another glance at the slender figure through the vines and finally walked out of the courtyard slowly.

The driver in black followed Sheng An’ning. Her hands seized slightly and her emotions became more and more complicated.

Who was this Mr. Chen?

Mr. Chen’s subordinate seemed to respect him a lot. That kind of respect was definitely not the ordinary respect of an employee to his superior.

These two people gave her a feeling that they were ruffians?

However, which ruffian acted like Mr. Chen? He gave off a feeling of gentleness and elegance.

Although their conversation was short, Sheng An’ning felt that Mr. Chen was raised well just from that short conversation.

If someone were to say Mr. Chen was a noble young man, Sheng An’ning would believe it without a doubt.

Sheng An’ning knew many of the young masters of powerful families in S City. Who was this Mr. Chen?

Just when Sheng An’ning was deep in thought, the driver in black who was trailing her walked past her and opened the back door for Sheng An’ning.

“Ms. Sheng, please.”

His neither warm nor cold voice came out of the air.

Sheng An’ning pursed her lips. From a young age, she had always been loved as an apple of the eye but today’s experience was really a disaster.

Firstly, she had been reprimanded by Director Li Shan at the seaside shooting location. Now, even a little driver did not respect her!

Sheng An’ning knew she had to control her temper now because no matter what, she’d better be more obedient now that she was a hostage.

Sheng An’ning sat silently on the back seat of the car. She put her handbag in front of her and looked warily at her surroundings.

The driver stepped on the accelerator and the grayish blue taxi ran through the lane.

She didn’t have the same fear which she had when she came. Hence, Sheng An’ning tried to remember the route the driver was taking but unfortunately, the driver in black seemed to know what she was up to. He took a few turnings and Sheng An’ning was lost!

The driver had taken a different route than he had earlier!

Sheng An’ning’s heart beat fast. Since she could not remember the road signage, she tried thinking about what Mr. Chen had said to her.

Mr. Chen didn’t look friendly toward her but said he wanted to help her.

How was he going to help? Why did he want to help?

If he did not have admiration for her and they didn’t have mutual benefits…

Could they have the same enemy?

The same enemy…

These few words kept ringing in her mind. A faint smile sparked at the corner of her lips. Could Mr. Chen be against Su Wan too?

She had done a check on Su Wan previously. It seemed that Su Wan had some disputes with the Su family and the Gu family in terms of family property and love.

However, Su Wan had no feud with anyone else…

If he was not against Su Wan, who else could it be?

Sheng An’ning’s mind kept running but couldn’t figure out a reasonable explanation. She sighed slightly. When she looked out of the window, she found that the driver had turned out of the previous lane into the street.

There was a piercing sound of trumpet in the air. Sheng An’ning had always hated noise but now, there was a faint happiness in her heart.

It had to be said that silence was the most terrifying. The courtyard was too spooky. Not even the sound of cicada was heard. Sheng An’ning had almost thought she had walked into a ghost lane.

Sheng An’ning smiled faintly and examined the building at the surrounding. Just when she was looking hard, the driver slammed on the brakes.

“Ms. Sheng, you may go down now.”

At the driver’s unexpected reminder, Sheng An’ning frowned, “Aren’t you sending me back to the Jiang residence?”

She didn’t even know where this was!

“Get down.”

The driver said those two simple words without hesitation. Sheng An’ning could even hear a faint irony from his tone of voice.

Sheng An’ning pouted. She felt that the driver was too uneducated. She could not be bothered argue with him and could only hold her bag and jump out of the car quickly.

The minute Sheng An’ning got down from the car, the grayish blue taxi moved forward in just the blink of an eye and there was no trace of it in the traffic flow.

This b*stard! How could he chase her down like this and go away?

She didn’t even have time to write down the licence plate number!

However, it should be useless even if she had the licence plate number?

Mr. Chen had gotten someone to invite her over and had wrapped himself up tightly. Sheng An’ning thought even if she asked someone to investigate the taxi and the ghostly lane, the investigation would be to no avail.

Mr. Chen was such a mysterious man. At the moment, Sheng An’ning was only sure of several things. He had a tall build. He was no older than forty years old and he was well educated.

It was impossible for Sheng An’ning to tell more than that.

Who on earth was Mr. Chen?

Sheng An’ning regretted not bringing her mobile phone today and because she was used to going out with Jiang Haoxuan, she didn’t have the habit of bringing money.

When she had gotten into the illegal taxi just now, she had planned to tell the driver that she would pay when she arrived at her destination.

Sheng An’ning looked around melancholically and finally saw a girl with a kind look.

She went over and started a conversation, “Hello, could you please lend me your mobile phone to make a call?”

In such circumstances, she could only call Jiang Haoxuan to pick her up.

In the CEO office of Di Chen Group, Jiang Xuecheng was looking at the computer when Su Wan walked in.

“Xuecheng, have you been very busy lately?”

Su Wan felt that every time she came to look for Jiang Xuecheng when she was off work, he was in a busy state.

Su Wan walked over to the water dispenser silently and poured Jiang Xuecheng a cup of hot tea.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Xuecheng raised his head finally. On his face was a faint smile, “Actually, I haven’t been busy but now that our wedding will be held next month, these tasks naturally have to be on the agenda.”

“Have you fixed a date?”

Hearing what Jiang Xuecheng said, Su Wan was shocked. She thought that when Jiang Xuecheng wanted their wedding to be brought forward, he would bring it forward to July or August but she had not expected to hold it in a few days.

Jiang Xuecheng took the white porcelain cup from Su Wan. Curls of tea mist rising made his handsome face seem unreal.

“Wan Wan, I don’t want to delay anymore. Let’s have it on the first of June.”
