Chapter 16: NOTICE FOR ALL MY READERS!

Dear Readers,

 

This is JeRP, the author of ‘The King of Spades.” Now you all might be wondering why I haven’t been updating as of late, and well, that is what this message is about... first of all there are two reasons why I haven’t been updating.

First is because of school, yes MFing School, for the last 3 days it’s been a war against assignments and activities. To be honest I’ve only managed to sleep 15 hours these last few days so If I factor in writing... I’d be dead.

Second, well this is probably the bigger reason... I have lost my drive to continue writing THIS story. It’s not that I don’t like the story, it’s just that the story has become too complicated that I want to punch my past self for not outlining it properly.

First off, My MC is a child... at the START of a soon-to-be apocalypse! Usually, in Novels/Mangas like these, the MCs are usually older, you know why? It’s because they can CONTRIBUTE immediately. An example would be Blood Warlock, if the story begins at the start of a major event then that means that interesting events will happen at that time... and the MC should be able to go to those events. But nooo, our MC would just be training and growing older the whole way and missing those events. And now you might be wondering, why didn’t I do a time skip?

Well, first I wanted the MC to grow older as the story goes, and second... because I’m an idiot.

Secondly, because of my dumbass complicating how they got their powers [Nature, Ambition, and Mindset], I then had to think of the pasts for each main character. Although I did make some already just thinking about making a character and making sure his/her gift is related to the past over and over again... hell.

Thirdly, maybe some of you guys already guessed it but in the middle part of the story I was PLANNING on adding the litRPG elements, I mean ‘the panels’ in chapter 1 should’ve given it away. I already have a whole backstory planned out such as where the blue aura came from, how the system was supposed to be introduced 1000 years later after humanity evolved more, and so on.

But alas, that just made things even more complicated as I would basically be giving out all the mysteries.

But my readers, don’t be alarmed! I do have some good news, I’m not planning on dropping the series as a whole at all. I’ve come to love the story very much and all the planning that I’ve done would all go to waste if I just abandon it. Instead, I’m gonna remake it.

The main character will still be Jericho and he will still have Physical Breaker. There will still be gifts but rather than separate they will be introduced at the same time as status screens.

But the biggest difference is that it will be set 50-100 years AFTER the introduction of gifts. This way, the MC can still be a child at the start without being pressured to move. I mean now that I’m thinking about it more having a weak child MC at the most sensitive part of the story was a little dumb on my part.

Orson. [Body enlargement], before arriving at the orphanage, was raised by a syndicate to be a plaything for pedophiles which explains why he emphasized ‘excitement’. He tried fighting back but was too SMALL, which is why he wanted to quickly grow bigger. (After knowing about it Teresa massacred the syndicate so don’t worry)
