When the mercenaries left Kevin when back to Elderberry’s castle which he had set up in the woods and used as his office since he was starting up a gang with the orphanage kids. He called it practice. They called themselves the Shadows of Raguel; The angel of justice. Kevin got the name from his body as he had the angel body of Raguel.

For 6 months, Kevin Raider had them moving around like the police. They collected information about everything. When Kevin realized that he could start an information business, he didn’t waste a minute….he sent Otis to call for a meeting and set up a full information selling and gathering gang. It could be called an intelligence agency like the FBI, CIA, MI6 and the KBG from his old world.

In the castle in the woods, a squad of 4 kids: 3 wearing plain white masks and the tall one in front wearing a white one with a bow drawing in black.

“Boss , we got the a guy who can get us the bounties you asked for but we need money to make the wheel squeak” said the guy with a bow marked mask. He was talking to a guy wearing a white mask with a black crown on it.

This was Kevin and he had made the mask arrangements because he felt it was cool and he wanted to protect the identities of the kids. They wore them at night and patrolled the streets around the village.

The local soldiers thought that some random kids were playing around but all these kids were just collecting data and trying to grow a skill they acquired when the dagger faced general put a spell on them. Getting this spell was the right of passage to enter the group.

4 Months ago, the magic tutor had arrived and he started teaching magic theory to the 5 kids but they seemed to know more about magic theory than he did which scared him.

When he tried to probe where they had acquired the knowledge, Kevin had told him that his father was friends with a paladin in the church who had taught them.

The tutor was shocked, he worked for a subsidiary of a magic tower and knew that paladins were high level fighters for the church and had access to the church libraries that had centuries worth of data.

When he asked the kids to tell him everything he taught them, they asked him what was in it for them. He was shocked at the audacity of the kids and paid them 10 bronze coins each.

The kid then laughed and rolled. Gus even peed his pants. Then Zola who saw the confused look on the tutors face also laughed and pulled out he little wallet which looked stuffed that this rabbit shape looked fat and about to blow; in it was 10 gold coins and many silver coins. The tutor couldn’t believe that he was seeing so he immediately got the idea of busting these thieves.

He knew these kids had definitely stolen this money from Kevin’s father since this was wealth that compared to his salary for 2 months at the magic tower branch. He was paid 7gold coins a month and that allowed him to live middle class luxuriously.

He called the maid, Sarah who always brought food and refreshments for the kids during their training sessions. He told her that these kids had stolen his money. The maid was shocked because she knew the kids had more money than they needed .

Young master Kevin even gave her silver coins as tips for bring him refreshments, she was scared to take the money until she talked to Madam Jackie who laughed and said she should accept the money.

When she tried to side with the kids, the man had gone crazy and the guards had come. When he told them that the little girl had stolen his money, they had called madam Jackie who shockingly told them to arrest the mage and throw him out.

He was also shocked and asked what was wrong with these people. The guards also didn’t understand the reason for the head maid’s order so they looked at her curiously. She then sighed and told them that the little girl was paid 2 gold coins a week. Everyone was shocked.

The mage was sent away and the Angelic Fiends had no magic tutor anymore although they weren’t worried at all unlike his parents who thought it would affect him but seeing he was not worried, they assumed he wanted to concentrate on weapons since he was excellent at them.

His father did advise him to increase his skills since putting all his hopes in combat was not a bad decision but it wasn’t good either. It was a double edged sword.
He didn’t want Kevin to give up on magic and his son seemed to understand him so he let him go on with his whims while keeping an eye on him.

On the other hand, Kevin understood something completely different. Of course he was not giving up on magic but his father didn’t know that. What Kevin understood was that he need to get more artisan classes like scribe, blacksmith, alchemist and more. He thought it would help drop his bills and also earn him some money.

A few months back, Kevin had gone and received the second session of the understanding of magic. He understood how to channel magic to a point that it felt like walking. He asked for Zola’s shadow 101 book read it. He didn’t need the system because with his understanding of magic, he felt things flowing. He discovered a clause that would be a big boon for him. I was about a primitive test a shadow magic clan to see if one had a high affinity for shadow magic. This was before the magic orbs that identified affinities had been discovered.

There was a spell that temporarily merged a person with a shadow to be come a whisper. This would generate a job class initiate phantom if you had a high talent for shadow magic at least B rank. If you didn’t have the affinity you would simply acquire the growth skill, whisper’s cloak.

Whisper's cloak was the first skill for a whisper and was an advanced stealth skill. The job class was more rare than Kevin’s Rookie Brawler job.

Kevin used the spell on Zola and she acquired the job. She did the same to Kevin and he got it too but Gus and the rest got the skill only.

Kevin instructed them to grow the skill since it was a life saver and also a good spy skill. The high the skill level the easier it was to disappear and appear without a sound or presence.

They cast the spell on the other kids who worked for them and they started getting more information since they were high level spies now. The information they got included the gangs and criminal individuals around town, some names were too big and even had bounties on them.

The guys with bounties were dangerous so Kevin needed to get their official bounties to understand just how much of a danger were they. He would then choose which ones were his practice targets and the ones to sell out to the authorities or the highest bidders.

“Pay the man and get all the data on the bounties. We need a constant update on this information so make sure you find something interesting about our mole.” Said the crown mask. Blackmail was a tool every gang used and these guys were no different.

When they got the proper bounty reports from the mercenary guild and discovered the danger threats around them, they would launch a full scale attack on a selected number themselves hence putting up a front as Assassins not to be messed with while selling information about high level guys to organizations.

This was the strategy Kevin had come up with so that he could promote and protect his business. The protection part was from choosing proper people to sell information to and blackmail ofcourse.

The birth of the Shadows of Raguel was just brink a way.
