Early the next morning before the birds started to sing as they always did in the countryside small town, a black haired child stared outside the window of his room with very cocoa brown eyes that seemed to have a thin science blue ring around the irises, one could not notice the blue because they would be sucked into the mystic feel of peace and understanding. This was new and was due to the leveling up of the heavenly eye the previous night.

The eye had evolved by chance in the middle of the night and when Kevin had woke up too early because of his excitement to get a monster pet; he received a system notification about the eye.

Ding

The heavenly eye has succeeded in a chance evolution due to the high body compatibility.

Mana sense leveled up.

Mana sense leveled up.

Mana sense leveled up.

Mana sense leveled up.

Mana sense evolved into mana sight.

Kevin was shocked and thought he was dreaming but after multiple very painful self slaps, he accepted it was reality with his swollen cheeks that made him look like he was a big teddy bear.

Kevin figured that the evolution of the eyes increases his sensitivity to mana by a very big margin that the mana sense skill was just blown out to level 5 , where it maxed out and evolved to mana sight. Kevin could now see magic aura on everything although it was very thin on most objects, it seemed to increase in living beings. The night guards seemed to have a lot more but it was different across all of them showing the power difference between them.

When he actually activated the heavenly eye, he got on his knees and said “thank you God for this great blessing”; at level 2 the heavenly eye showed him the name, level, potential and affinities for humans and the same for a bird that was resting in its on a tree branch.

The affinities also had letter grades in magic and weapons. This skill was best for training and identifying talent without need for guess work or trial and error. With this he could grow his subjects and pets to there best potential.

He spent 2 hours just staring out the window identifying everything from trees to pebbles with the heavenly eye until his mana hit zero and he felt like his head had been hit by a club or a stone. He was seeing stars and had fallen to the ground unmoving. The system message seemed to have waves going through it. Which confused him the more.

Mana energy has hit zero.

User is now under the mana exhaustion de-buff

After about 30minutes, Kevin regained his senses and realized that he had a regained 5 mana points. Having no mana can be dangerous, I have to find out away to increase the mana pool I have or at least increase the mana regeneration rate. I will have to do more research.

When the sun finally came out, Kevin got dressed in his robes and pants. He liked the medieval fashion as it made him feel like he was in a movie acting as a charming prince. “what the fork…..it seems like am losing my maturity everyday, I keep on acting like a kid.”

Kevin finally discovered that he was really acting like a five year old not matter his 46year old mentality. He had no control over his every easily triggered excitement and the giggling. Oh my God, the giggling- it made him want to punch himself although he was being cute to the point that he gave himself toothaches. At least I slept through the shitting baby stages, he would just die if he had to poop on himself everyday.
As he cried for the lose of his dignity, he moved to the dining hall where his mother was seated as Jackie cut her some bread.
When she saw him, she smiled brightly and Kevin couldn’t help but admire her beauty. She had black long hair and black eyes with very fair soft skin that made her look like the models that advertised hair and skin products back on earth.

He finally got out of his trance when she said “look Jackie, my baby seems to become more handsome everyday.”

Jackie laughed and she said with a very dedicated face “He is going to be a heart stopper when he finally becomes of age. I will prepare to make proper reports on all the potential daughters-in-law.” It was as if it was her only purpose in life.

Kevin meanwhile was struggling to breath as he was just saw embarrassed with shyness that his whole face was as red as an angry cartoon character. He then shouted “ what is wrong with you people” as he panted like he had run a whole mile.

The two women began to laugh at how cute he looked when he was mad. Kevin just didn’t know what to do so he looked away from them and took his seat and poured him self some purple juice that had a very cool fragrance.

His mother then said “ I have been wanting to talk to you for a while but you seem to be very busy.”

“ what is it, mother" replied Kevin

“ I wanted to encourage you to acquire as many classes as you can. Back in my hometown, they believe that the more classes you can acquire and level up before the coming of age ceremony affect the final job options you get. Rare classes inclusive. People in these lands believe in investing all the effort in classes that are related to the final path one wants but I feel that one would be better off if they could see all the options.” replied his mother.

As his mother explained more about all this Kevin couldn’t help but to wonder about where is mother was from, she looked Asian despite her darker skin tone; she must have been mixed race and his father looked like someone of Western origin with his brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyway he understood and agreed with his mother’s theory and promised to do as his mother had told him.

After the meal and talk with his mother, he moved to the gate where he found his entourage waiting for him. He greeted them and they moved to the Raider merchant company offices where. He wanted to check the affinities of his people but his mana had only recovered to 25points and he wanted to save them to use on the monster pets so that he could pick the monster with the maximum use.

Kevin could check his own affinities, it made him sad but he didn’t think much of it as he knew that with his angel body he could handle mana very well and close combat making him a very all round person. He decided to check Gus' affinities so that he could help him pick a monster that would aid his growth.

Gus was a rare potential character with a level 3 and had a B ranking affinity with blade plus a B rank affinity with fire and light magic. These were the highest affinities he had seen on a person so far .

The guards all had D and E rank affinities and were common potentials. He couldn’t wait to check Zola’s affinities since she had an epic potential. It should be A rank Kevin thought.

Once they arrived at the company, a fat man with a blue bird on his shoulder walked up to them and greet them. He said he was sent by Darren and he was in charge of the monster pet. He was a monster tamer.

He led them to the back of building to the stables. Kevin saw so many cages in a huge tent and the monster tamer said that they had too many pet recently since they had got double their usual numbers from the bandits raid.

Kevin saw horses with four eyes, rats with wings, blue kittens, a bear with blue patterns and even a one eyed giraffe that just looked evil. Before he even activated his heavenly eyes he saw a huge rainbow aura cloud around a very black chubby puppy with some white patterns, this sickly puppy with deep golden eyes had more aura than he had seen on any other creature or person.

Kevin then activated his heavenly eyes’ abilities and was shocked out of his body. Once his ghost was returned to his body he finally internalized what he was seeing. The puppy was a Celestial mane dire wolf of legendary potential and an S rank potential in magic. It didn’t even say which magic. It just said magic meaning that it was good at all magic. The monster puppy status seemed to also have a cold debuff on it.

Kevin just screamed “it’s mine" shocking everyone.

The monster tamer said “ young master you can’t just pick a sick common class wolf. I have prepared two quality monsters to pick from in the back.”

“ I said its mine, open the cage and give it to me" Kevin was acting like the biggest brat in the world since he was the only one who could see what he could see.

The tamer opened the charge and gave the monster to Kevin but he seemed scared like he was going to lose his life if the mutt gave the master a disease.

Kevin hugged the pet and asked for a blanket and milk. He rapped the puppy in a blanket and fed it. It fell asleep after he fed it and Kevin finally seemed to relax and then he said
“ let’s go get Gus a pet" everyone was just freaked out wondering what had happened to Kevin. Jett, Otis, Zola and the tamer thought maybe Kevin had finally shown his spoilt side. Gus on the other hand was staring around and seemed to be zoned out completely.

The tamer moved and led the way to the back and they saw two pets. One was a bear like puppy with horns growing out of its head and the other was a pony with a green tail and mane. The bear puppy looked pretty plain and sleepy will the little horse was running around happily.

Kevin started imaging Gus riding on a majestic horse that had a mystic aura around it. Otis and Zola were feeding it as Jett watched on. The tamer was pouring water on the drinking buckets. Gus was poking the bear with a stick and the bear was looking at Gus with a lazy irritated eye.
Out of nowhere, the bear jumped on Gus and began to chew on him as he struggled to wrestle with it. The tamer pulled the bear away and others pulled Gus away. When they were separated, Gus jumped this time round and attacked the bear. It was just chaos and it took around 4minutes for them to be full separated.

All this time Kevin was standing there rubbing his chin with disappointment on his face. He finally moved and said “ Gus you should take the bear"

Everyone looked at him like he was crazy. Otis then said “ that thing almost killed hi…”

Just as Otis was going to complain Gus said “Okay" in a very enthusiastic manner that everyone thought they heard wrong.

What is wrong with these children wondered the tamer. It was just morning but he felt a headache like he had been working for a months without rest.

Kevin had been disappointment that the pony although looking all noble and energetic was a rare class Elven wrath spring pony with B class earth and wood affinities. The wood affinity crashed with Gus' fire affinity so the pony would probably not grow well if it stayed near Gus. The contract would probably not even form since Gus' mana would hurt the poor pony.

As for the bear, it was an epic class Holy Jagged lightning bear with an A class magic affinity in light, metal and lightning magic. Although it looked less majestic compared to the little horse, it was still very cute and indeed very powerful.

“Now that you have made you choices. I will teach you the contract technique. You should know that you won’t be able to get another beast until your second job advancement and that could be at the age of 30 or even 40.” said the tamer. He stared at Kevin hoping he would reconsider his choice but he seemed settled.

The tamer taught them a mantra to tamer the monsters. It was not a slave contract. It was more of a partnership type of contract where the human had slightly more power because he had more awareness. They would even out as the monster evolved.
After signing the contract Kevin gained the monster tamer job class and was asked to name his partner. He named it Onyx Raider. Onyx because of its black fur with white patterns. But he just kept on calling it little Black.

Gus tried to call his bear Jett 2 but Jett quickly slapped him on the head and told Kevin to recommend a name.

Kevin then said “what do you think Artemis?”

Gus then replied “ I thought Jett 2 was a great name, a cool name but since big brother doesn’t like people to share. I will do with Arte-mis". The name was hard for him but he managed to name the pet, Artemis Damond. He started calling it Arty thou as they left.
