Chapter 10

All day and all night Kevin run around playing with little Black while Gus and Arty continued to fight like mortal enemies. Zola, Jett and Otis spent there time betting on who would win the new fight between Gus and Arty, they felt jealous when they saw the beautiful relationship between Kevin and little Black but they immediately lost the jealous when they saw the tension between Gus and Arty.

Arty was smart but lazy while Gus was dumb but energetic hence their everlasting wars. They had become friend-enemies since they fought, ate and slept together. Jackie who had to care for their wounds and food just couldn’t understanding the two especially when she saw them fight at one moment and then find them sleeping on top of each other.

Later on, after a fight between Arty and Gus ended in Gus' victory and Jett paid Zola with some silver coins; Kevin asked them about the talismans that Otis was making sometime back.

“We bought them off a madman that comes around the orphanage” said Jett.

“Yeah, but he doesn’t accept money" said Otis.

“What do you mean by he doesn’t like money" asked Kevin

“When he sees money, he goes wild and starts throwing stones.” Said Jett

“…but if you offer him a stick, he will just laugh at you and offer to give you a present.” Said Otis.
“what??” Kevin couldn’t understanding.

“Exactly” said Zola for the first time in days.Kevin’s brain was just lagging as he tried to make o situation.

“let’s go meet this guy. Otis you can stay and practice your talisman creation skills. I need you to max out that job class before the coming of age ceremony” said Kevin.

Gus stayed behind with Arty as they nursed themselves. Kevin carrying the sleeping pup on his head, Zola and Jett left for the orphanage.

The orphanage was now sponsored by the Raider merchant company so the kids had better experiences and were being guided to work for the company instead of gangs.

When they got there, everyone greeted Jett and the others but seemed scared of Kevin since they now knew his background. They still looked at him with big eyes because they could see the cute puppy on his head.

Jett found the madman in the forest near the back of the orphanage as he argued with himself. He tried to make Jett understand why he was angry but it didn’t make any sense.

When he finally saw Kevin, he took a knee and said “my king the castle has been taken over by the rats that scream like horses. Forgive my incompetence.”

He really is a madman. “take me to the castle “ said Kevin.

“don’t talk to me your stupid chair, his majesty will kill us all if he thinks am crazy.” He replied, then bowed and started walking away.

Kevin and the others followed behind and the madman led them deep in the forest that Kevin started feeling scared as they were no longer in the safe boundaries of the town. They had already entered the wilderness lands where beasts roamed. Not long after they saw a small hill but they were shocked when the old man enter the hill like it was a hologram.

This must be a formation used for hiding. Kevin thought to himself as he walked and touched the border. Once the shock was done. Zola entered, then Kevin and finally Jett.

When they entered they saw an old castle that had tall grass all around it. It looked like it had been neglected for years considering that it was falling apart in some areas.

When they entered the inside of the castle, they where shocked to find that it was very clean. Kevin was sure it was more clean than the house at home.

The floors were lined with a beautiful red carpet and there was a white monster skin in the center that just made everything look right.

“ I will go bring food for his majesty. Yes yes" said te madman.
he then disappeared into a door besides the stairs. Kevin turned to the siblings and saw that they were just as shocked as him.

“Maybe the old man cleans it” said Kevin.

“Definitely not" said both the siblings at the same time.

They then started moving around as they looked around. Kevin then saw an aura of magic coming from a part of the wall. It seemed like a magical circle. He could tell what it does thou so he avoided it incase it was a trap.

Kevin then saw a bookshelf and started walking over to it but suddenly stopped as he saw the same magic circles that also glowed green being the books in the shelf. Kevin was being very cautious about this place as it seemed too good to be true. An abandoned castle that was neatly kept in the inside.

Just as these thoughts rushed through Kevin’s mind, he heard Zola scream. He rushed to were she was and saw the madman holding a human leg as he looked at Zola with an annoyed look.

The leg was clearly from a young child of about 10 years. The madman then returned through the door he came from. Jett consoled and hugged Zola as Kevin wondered what to do. He was scared, very scared. He was in a house in the middle of nowhere with an oldman that was walking around with human limbs.

He felt like puking but then he steeled himself and followed the mad man. He entered a hall way that seemed to lead to a big kitchen. Zola had recovered and together with Jett, they followed Kevin. When they entered. Kevin immediately puked as he saw the old man cutting meat but next to the chopping block was the head of Zach. The orphanage bully that they had fought awhile back.

Blerg bleh ….

The siblings where shaking with fear as Kevin puked more. The puppy had fallen to the ground and looked on curiously as his partner seemed to be reverse eating chucky colored water.

The madman turned and looked in their direction with a broad bloody smile saying “am almost done, your …”

He suddenly stopped and his smile turned into a fawn in the time of one blink of the eye. He then shouted “how dare you ruin everything. What did you do to the king?”

He came running with a big knife he was using to chop the leg. Kevin was stunned by the scenes unfolding in front of him.

As the bloody, man eating mad man drew closer he was awakened from his state by a system message.

He could hear his heart beat in his chest and feel the distance between the air around his skin. He focused himself and used the moon cloud boxing technique to send a serious punch to the mad man’s nose.

It was a serious sucker punch and it happened so fast that it just made the old man to lose all his energy

It was a serious sucker punch and it happened so fast that it just made the old man to lose all his energy and balance. He fell to the ground like a log of timber. He was stunned by the punch and was not moving for a bit.

Kevin then got a hold of the sharp knife and stabbed the old man in the back straight through the heart. Ending the life of the mad man like a blowing out a candle.
