Chapter 1: Prologue

"So... It has come huh?" A rather young man weakly said, even his lips were tired, barely opening his eyes to only see the same white ceiling of the hospital room.

"Even in my death... They're not here to see me off..." He said as he forced a smile, but his eyes betrayed his smiles as tears started to come out.

12 years... That's right, Kareem Reed Edwards spend his 5 years of life inside the same room, hoping for his cancer to be cured, but all those years of loneliness were for naught. 

Ever since he was born, Kareem was abandoned by his family, the reason? Because he failed to enter a prestigious academy. 

The Edwards family is a family famous for their successes in various fields of business, science, politics, and more, and just because he isn't showing any interest and talent, he was considered a failure... But, why? A question always plagues their mind, Kareem, aren't they his family? Aren't families supposed to support each other, love, and guide them? A place where you can run when troubled. But he was straight out rejected.

He even needed to do some online jobs so he can eat something in the hospital, it was also the time when Kareem experienced reality. His family is full of greedy, selfish, and, liars creatures. Love doesn't exist there, one's value is decided by his/her merit, talent, and contribution.

Glancing to the side, Kareem remembered the only friend he had, her name was Alexia, she was also a patient in the hospital who have also had cancer, she was the only one that visits him, speak to him and laugh with him, unfortunately, she died a year ago after her disease finally took over her. Kareem was depressed when he heard the news, why god can be so cruel to him? No... He's still lucky compared to many more unfortunate ones out there, nevertheless, he hated his family and society, they only approached him for connections, and the moment he was abandoned, so do his so-called "friends".

At this point, Kareem let his feelings loose, it felt good, it feels good when you let those feelings that you keep inside, "If only you're here..."

He slowly accepted his fate, what can he do? Death is not limited to him, everyone will eventually die, but he had much a worse life. "If I were to be reborn... I want to meet you again..."
