“Echoing… we are always echoing in this cave?” The beast's words echo on the wall the only response gained is from itself, human. “Affirmation.”
“Hey, hey! How long have we been in this cave? ‘Years’.” What is this beast even talking about? We have been waiting for them for a while now. “Them?” Why do we wait for them? “No no, remember you can’t ask that questions?” What is this wolf even talking about? Why can’t I ask any questions?
“You just can’t. The boss wouldn’t like it. ‘The boss’? Yeah, do you remember the amazing boss person? ‘No were they strong?’ Yeah, Yeah boss is the strongest remember? ‘Hmm, then why are we waiting?’”
“I don’t know…so hungry. I no longer munch, crunch and chew. I can only feel starvation. No longer satiation. Only starvation.” That’s right we are hungry. Both me and this wolf are both hungry.
“Hey wolf, how long has it been since we both ate?” It thought for a bit then answered. “It’s been long, but what is we?”
“What do you mean ‘what is we???’” What the hell is this stupid wolf talking about all of the sudden anyway? “Not stupid. That would mean you are stupid.”
“Wait, do you mean to say that we are one in the same? Because I for one know that I am not some deluded wolf.” This wolf needs to get it into his thick skull that me and him are not the same.
“My skull is not thick. We are both same. We are both hungry. We both need satiation. We both wolf. We both in cave. We both miss boss. We both lost. We both share the same location.” Huh, you mean to say we both share the same body? “Affirmation.”
“I see, so I was always me.” As soon as I said that aloud I heard the sound of pebble throwing resounding in the cave. “Hmm, so the humans finally come here for the first time in years. I guess this will do. I need satiation.”
I started to creep towards the entrance of the cave. I surrounded myself in a veil of shadow just like boss. “See, I am one who can learn. I am not some stupid wolf. I will be satiated.”
I reached the entrance relatively slowly. I could have gone fast like boss and Ilya, but if I did that it would be less fun. It is more fun to observe one's prey before one is satiated. Isn’t that right wolf? “Affirmation.”
Once I was at the entrance I observed the 3 little kids who were throwing rocks into the cave. I could smell their fear from the mouth of the cave. They hadn’t seen me. It is just that they are playing some type of fear game. One will throw the rock inside of the cave and run off. Then the next one will do the same thing. As they throw rocks into the cave they take one step closer to the mouth.
I found this game delightful, but I decided to make it more interesting for myself and the children. When one of the boys threw a rock into the cave I casually tossed it back out. They ran away quite a distance, but when they realized nothing was chasing them they came back. When they stopped some distance away from the cave, the tallest one of them , a girl, stepped forward and shielded the two boys. Then she spoke towards the cave.
“Hello? Is someone in there? We are sorry if we made you angry or caused you trouble.” I decided I wouldn’t talk, as people will usually run away with just my voice.
When they didn’t get a response for a while the girl talked with the boys and eventually they walked up to the mouth of the cave. Their level of fear kept rising the more they walked, and it was causing me infinite hunger. Once they crossed the threshold I immediately killed and ate them.
“‘Satiated?’ No, not satiated. Need more food. Need more people… *Sniff* *Sniff*... ‘People?’”
After a time of killing people eventually soldiers were sent, and they provided the most delicious meal of all. Their fear was truly wonderful. “Can go straight to their capital?”
“CAN! CAN! CAN!”
