As night descended upon us we discussed how we would enter the city. It was decided that I would use my shadow warp to get us into the city before teleporting the rest of the group with me. I started to spread my shadow out across the city. I felt for all of the elf signatures in my shadow and confirmed a hidden location within the city that held several elves. It was an underground facility within the city that was underneath a tavern. The stairs to the facility were behind the tavern. “Erevyn are your contacts located in an underground facility?”

“Yes, have you found their location? As expected of the queen. You should warp near the entrance to the facility. Not many people go into the alleyway behind that tavern except for ruffians.” That is good to know. Immediately I casted the spell and my view changed. I was in a dark alleyway with no people around. Looking around the alleyway the entrance to the underground facility was well hidden. It was underneath the wooden dumpster behind the tavern. The dumpster didn’t have wheels, so it led me to wonder how we were going to get in. Technically I could just warp us in, but I should let Erevyn handle this. I don’t want to cause a scene.

“Move it you filthy animal!” I heard from around a corner. I peeked into the corner of another alleyway to observe. There was a man pulling a little girl by a leash into another hidden door. On closer inspection the little girl had pointed cat ears and a thin tail peeking out from behind the rags she was wearing. I couldn’t see her face because she was turned away from me. I assumed she was probably a slave, and the person pulling on her leash was  likely a slaver. This doorway must be where they take slaves. ‘Humans will always be the same.’ I heard Eliah’s voice inside of my head.

Honestly it boggles my mind that she could even say that. This body has seen countless battles and killed many people, so why would she get sentimental over some slaves? ‘You really don’t have a clue about anything, haa’. She freaking sighed at me! At least I am not a massive hypocrite! With that in mind and a mental note about the slavers I made my way back to where I was. Then I teleported the group here.

“Master, you took longer than I expected. Did something happen?” To her question, I simply pointed at the corner I was just at. She walked over to the corner and peeked herself. She looked at the scene that was happening with disgust before turning back towards me. “Master, may I be allowed to end their lives?” Her eyes were dead serious. It isn’t like I really minded ending the lives of pathetic slavers, but we were supposed to meet Erevyn’s group before we did anything.

“We are supposed to meet up with Erevyn’s informants first, remember?” Ilya also peeked around the corner when Rela returned to us. She was immediately readying her weapon. We murder all of these innocent people, but slavery is where they draw the line? I wonder why? The convenient voice of Eliah is not answering my question.

“I don’t mind if we delay the meeting, my queen. You said to yourself, tonight we will have some fun. I would also be blessed to watch you in action again!” Erevyn said in reverence. “Well I guess there is a change of plans. Everyone, we will deal with these slavers.” I said with a sadistic smile.

Gregory was leading a beastkin underground by her leash. Everytime the leash would halt signaling that the beastkin had stopped he would yank harder. “Move it you filthy cat!” Why do I have the job of leading these filth into their cages? I don’t understand the nobles that come to purchase such filth. They stain our cities just by being there. It would be better if they were driven out of the country like in Ender.

Gregory kept leading the slave girl down a long hallway that was lit by torches on either side. Eventually he made his way up a small flight of stairs to a doorway. He gave the metal door a knock three times. A shutter at the top of the door opened up, and the guy inside asked a question.

“We are above.” The guy inside stated, and Gregory knew what to answer. “The filthy beasts.” Then the guy inside said another phrase. “We fall in line.” Again Gregory knew what to say. “To our betters.” Then the last phrase was stated by the guy behind the door. “We are beneath.”

“The benevolent gods.” With the passphrase completed the guy behind the door started to unlock several locks on the door. Gregory was then let into the large warehouse while dragging the slave behind him.

Inside the warehouse were dozens of cages filled with beastkin. This whole place smells like piss and shit. Gregory thought to himself as he took the slave he was dragging to the end of a row of cages. At the end of the row was a table, and on the other side sitting in a chair was a figure with several scars on his face. He was the one who ordered which cages the slaves would be delivered to before they were to be auctioned off. The man behind the counter merely said “9 B”

Gregory took that as his queue to head to row nine of the warehouse, and then he placed the slave girl in the second cage. There were guards on every single row of the slave house, so it was impossible for any normal person to break in; however currently at the entrance another person was trying to enter.

“We don’t grant entry to elves. Even if you know the password. It would be best if you were to leave. Unless you want us to place you inside of a cage as well.” The guard of the entrance said through the shutter on the door.

The elf outside of the door, Erevyn simply grinned at him. Then another figure appeared beside her. At the end of her arms were large dragon claws. She hit the door once sending it flying into the man. Instantly the man's life was torn from him as the door slammed into him. The door and the man flew all the way to the end of the row of cages landing in front of the desk.

An alarm immediately started to sound throughout the warehouse, and all of the guards rushed towards the entrance. While this was going down Gregory thought to himself. What a bunch of fools raiding this warehouse! Don’t they know what is going to happen to them?

As he thought that he began to move towards all of the commotion, but when he got closer he felt his impending doom. From a distance he could make out a figure that was only described in legends. It was a beautiful girl with black hair and crimson eyes. Gregory knew her from the stories he was told as a child. That sadistic smile on her face also gave him the creeps.

He knew if he tried to fight her it would spell his end, so he took off running towards the other entrance of the building. He didn’t look back even while he was hearing the screams of guards. He just ran towards the exit like a coward or like a child running away from a monster. There is no way I will fight against “Eliah the Immortal”. I would sooner turn on my own then try and fight that.

He kept running and running. Eventually he reached the exit, but as he did he felt a searing pain in his back. He looked down to realize that an ice shard was piercing his chest, and like that his life was torn from the mortal plain of existence.
