With the arrival of the morning sun through the window, the arrival of my usual headache followed. At least the headaches weren't too bad, and I could usually ignore them by focusing on other things. I obviously hadn’t slept, and I hadn’t felt hunger either since arriving here. I did feel a slight sense of thirst when I killed those forest wolves, but oddly I felt an even bigger sense of revulsion when I thought of drinking their blood. Perhaps what was even odder was the fact that I hadn’t seen Kinna eat even one time. How does she even maintain those breasts?

I started to hear Kinna stirring in her room, so I decided to exit the small room. The room itself only consisted of a small bed, a small desk with a chair, and a small cabinet. It was nothing to write home about, and I had sat in that small chair all night basically twiddling my thumbs. Making my way out of the room I was greeted by Kinna standing just outside the doorway.

“Master Eliah! Good Morning, can I have a morning hug?” Oh, it seems I started to notice my headache again. “No, and where is this ‘Master’ coming from? I Don’t recall you ever calling me that before.” As she hugged herself I felt my homicidal urges start to come back. No, calm down, me! “I just thought since we are a party, and you are the leader it only makes sense! Plus, who wouldn’t want such a cute girl as their master?”

I decided to ignore her and change the topic. “I will be going to the library today. Are you coming?” I needed to figure out some things that I would probably be able to search for at the library. She shook her head and responded “No, I will go patch up my leather armor that got nommed on by those wolves.” With that we parted ways once we left the inn.

The library bordered the noble district. It was basically right in front of the gate which served as the entrance to the district. Beyond the gate I could make out a few manors, and the grandest mansion of them all stood towards the back. It was 2 stories with several large windows. I guessed that would be where the mayor lived.

The library itself was quite small, which didn’t give me high hopes for finding all of what I wanted to know. There was a small metal gate that surrounded the library, and there was a single guard posted. He looked at me and nodded. I took that as my queue and headed beyond the gate and up the stone steps towards the door. I don’t think one had to be a noble to enter the library, and the guard was probably for security reasons; however, apparently you had to pay a gold coin to the librarian for use of the library and they would reimburse you with 50 silver on the way out.

Entering the library I paid the librarian a gold coin and started to look around. I could only find myself disappointed. There were 2 wooden tables with 6 wooden chairs surrounding each. At one of the tables sat a lone girl who appeared no older than 10. She wore a fancy blue dress which had a pink ribbon on the front. The dress was the same color as her blue hair and eyes. She had a cute rounded face.

Ignoring the girl I made my way over to 1 of the only 3 rows of bookcases. The first row was labeled “History”, and it actually had a map posted on the side. Apparently the kingdom I was in is called “Ender”. It had an east central position on the continental map. The capital was called “Weedle”, and it was located 20 km to the west. I couldn’t remember any of the countries' names from the game, but 2 nations to the west should be where my castle is located as that kingdom is called the “Leo Kingdom”.

I decided to pick up a book called “History of Ender: Volume 1”, and I sat at the table opposite the girl. I started reading the first page. “This glorious Kingdom was founded in the year 1132 by the followers of ‘Enderman’. ‘Enderman’ was a great hero who slew the Great Dragon Ikthnar…” I remember both names from the game. Enderman was one of the top characters, and Ikthnar was a great dragon. He was one of the first end game raid bosses introduced.

I was about to continue reading when the little girl took her seat in front of me. The book she sat down was a book I was familiar with “The Death of Eliah the Immortal”. As I looked up at her she started fidgeting. “What do you want?” My blunt question caused her to fidget even more. I think this girl is broken. I could tell she was trying to calm her breathing.

“Um… My name is Emma!” Her sudden outburst had me dazed for a second before I responded “I am reading.” A part of me thought she would respond with “Hi, Reading, I’m dad”, but it was not to be. “M-may I have your n-name?” I sighed and decided I would just humor this girl. “I share the same name as the person on the title of your book.”

She looked down at her book and then up at me. She repeated this several times. When she finally looked up at me for the last time she had a bright smile on her face and started talking at an outrageous speed. “Why did your parents name you Eliah? Is everything in this book true? Do you know what is in that castle? Isn’t Eliah so cool? Do you want to be my friend?”

“Hold on, you are asking too many questions. Wait, you think Eliah is cool?” She nodded swiftly. “My dad scolds me when I talk about Eliah in a positive light, but I think she was really cool. She might have been ruthless, but she was beautiful and amazingly strong. You are very beautiful too! Will you be my friend?”

I don’t even know how to respond to that question. She probably only thinks “Eliah” is cool because of her age. I was about to answer her when I could sense someone I was familiar with loitering outside the library. I didn’t take Brin as the type of person to visit a library, so that could only mean he was waiting for me. I looked over at Emma. “I am sorry I have business to attend to”.

“But you didn’t answer my question!” Oh right, she asked to be my friend. I will just have to humor this little girl. “Oh, sure.” Watching her from over my shoulder she fist pumped the air and started bouncing up and down. Everyone I am surrounded by is strange. Does that say anything about me? People said you could tell a lot about a person by the company they keep.

I walked outside to find Brin leaning against the fence. Hey, guard, I would like to report a suspicious man. The guard seemed like he didn’t care. I wonder if I were to kill Brin right here if the guard would move. I guess this is a perk of being a famous adventurer. I think my headache will grow if I talk to Brin, but I don’t think I can avoid it. As I reached the gate my hypothesis was realized as brin walked over to me.

“Yo, I am Brin, but I am sure you already know that. I came over to apologize for what I said last night. I realize now that it was rude to imply that you didn’t hunt those wolves yourself.” I don’t know why he would look for me to apologize, but if it’s just to apologize I guess it's fine. “If that’s all then I don’t really mind; in fact, if you leave me alone I’ll call it even.”

I started to walk away, but he started to follow. “Do you want something else?” What more could this person want? “I must say that when I saw your smile in the guild hall I found myself captivated, and when I saw you today I thought to ask you on a date.” I found his response disgusting; in fact, I was feeling the strongest urge to kill I have felt. My hand started twitching. When I thought of killing him I felt that same sadistic smile form on my face. When he looked at my smile I could see him start blushing, which almost made me burst out into a fit of laughter.

“I actually know of a special place we could go to right now. It is a beautiful place in the forest that only I know about.” My response surprised myself, but the more I tried to quell my thoughts of killing the more I felt I would go mad with unrest. “Lead the way, beautiful.” I was kind of surprised he would follow a random woman he just met into the forest, but I guess beautiful women could have such an effect.

He followed me out of the city, and we started walking along the road towards the forest. He tried to speak to me, but I brought a hand to my mouth and shushed him saying “you will ruin the journey.” We started walking through the forest, and I was tracing my steps back towards that familiar shack. When we were almost to the shack Brin decided to speak up again. “How much further? The night is already upon us, and it is starting to get harder to see.”

“Don’t worry we are almost there, just a bit further. The thing is this place is amazing for stargazing.” As soon as I could hear the stream I started to take off running slow enough so that he could follow. “Hey don’t go running off in a dark forest!” The response came out of my mouth naturally. “Catch me if you can!” He started running and yelled out “You little…”

When we arrived at the shack he planted a hand on my shoulder. He looked up at the shack and I saw confusion was visible on his face. “I thought it was supposed to be a place where we could watch the stars?” I smiled and replied to him. “Watching the stars can come after. I found this wonderful shack here! Now, now…” I motioned for him to enter the shack.

He entered the shack first and stood in the doorway. “I don’t know what is so special about this pla…” cutting him off the only words I said were “Blood Mold”. A blood lance came out of my palm and impaled him through the back exiting out of his chest. As the blood lance disappeared I watched him look down in horror as he grabbed at the now gaping hole in his chest. He turned around to speak, but the only sounds that came out of his mouth were gurgles as he coughed up blood. He started to slowly walk over to me with a hand reached out.

I watched him collapse to the floor and stared at his face as blood dripped from his mouth. The sight left me hypnotized and I was smiling brightly. I had an urge to drink his blood, but I knew it would only be disgusting. He was clearly confused so I decided to give him a bone since he was going to die soon anyway. My body became covered in shadow, and my old familiar outfit covered my body. I could feel the changing color of my eyes, and the sudden growth of my fangs. Never before had I felt such joy. It was clear he was trying hard to speak, so with my enhanced hearing I made sure that I would hear his last words.

“E…li…ah” That was all he could say as the light faded from his eyes. As his body started to grow cold I could no longer contain my laughter, and it finally broke free. I started laughing like a maniac, and fell to my knees. I didn’t know what I found so funny, but I knew that something within me finally broke. I could not stop laughing until I heard a twig breaking behind me, and with it a familiar voice spoke “Eliah?”

I turned around to look at the familiar rogue, and as I did I looked to the ground and started to rapidly think of what I should do next. Despite being useful to me she stumbled upon this. Why? Weren’t you supposed to be a shit rogue? This is your fault! Yes, If I have to kill you it will be your fault! The thought of killing her was beginning to excite me again, but when I looked up I only saw Kinna smiling while staring at the corpse?

“Huh?” A stupid voice left my mouth. Does she want me to kill her? What is happening? Before I could say or do anything else she started to speak. “Master is so cute when she is flustered.” No, no, no that is not what I want. “I don’t understand. Who are you!?” I yelled at her loudly.

“Perhaps this will help.” As she said that a coagulation of blood surrounded her, while  I took a defensive stance. The blood soon became a wall masking her presence before the wall of blood vanished. A kneeling figure similar looking to Kinna was there, but gone was the scar on her face. Gone were any blemishes to her skin. Her hair had turned a midnight blue in color, and her eyes turned a dark purple. She was now wearing a black and white maid outfit.

This was a figure I recognized from the game. Indeed, she was my closest NPC subordinate, and it was also someone that I was supposed to have watched die with my own eyes. I felt a single tear coming from my right eye. The only word that was able to leave my mouth was in the form of a question “...Rela?...”
