The world was black, I was ignorant of my surroundings, the only thing I knew was pain. It had been so long since the pain started that I had forgotten what it felt like not being hurt. My thoughts used to be scattered and disjointed, a jumble of images of my eternal disconnected life.

A pool of my own blood surrounded me, my wounds bleed due to the entity on top of me. Its feet pressed into my back delicately in an attempt to not crush me completely. That was the way it has always been and would be for eternity, that's what I thought....but everything has suddenly changed without any explanation.

At this moment I'm looking at myself in a mirror, an unfamiliar face stares back at me, her red hair like fire contrast against her cyan dark emotionless eyes, her beautiful eyes were being protected by golden glasses, her skin is pale white, almost translucent.

This isn't me, I can feel it, this person isn't me. I shouldn't look anything like her. This woman doesn't have any scars or imperfections, she is tall and gives a refined aura around herself. Her robes were like one of a catholic Pope mixed with those of a Hindu priest, they look ancient, and have many different symbols carved all over it, each symbol seems to represent something as they repeat each other.

The symbols are very intricate, the patterns on them makes it hard to even see some of the letters written there. The most prominent symbol on her robe is a circle that seems to be missing something inside of it, maybe it's an eye? It feels like an eye is missing there, like I'm no longer being watched, that's how I feel.

For now, I'm going to ignore this feeling, and instead focus on my situation. What is this library? How did I get here? Only asking won't get me anywhere, I need to start acting, I will start by reading.

There are millions and millions of books here, probably even more, if the reason of my existence is between one of them, I should probably begin reading now. However, I don't know where to start from.

I don't know how, but somehow I can feel that 99% of all these books are empty, and are yet to be written, all these books must be connected to me in some way because, I can feel like in this very moment, they are completing themselves little by little. I don't know how much it will take for them to be completed, but probably it will be a long time.

Like I said, it's better if I start reading instead of losing time, the sooner I find answers, the better. The white book probably has answers, but I won't approach to it anymore, I won't get close to that thing ever again.

For now, I'm going to start by a book titled Water, a book titled Fire, and another title Earth. They are separated in tomes, so it will be a long read.

***

I awoke surrounded by papers, it was dark and silent, the only light came from a single candle that stood on, in the middle of the hall between bookshelves. I got up and looked outside the enormous golden window, it seemed to be night. There was snow covering the floor where I stand, and a thick fog enveloped everything, the snow seemed to have entered from the broken ceiling of the library.

For how long have I been reading? When I started the sun was at the top and everything was warm, now the sky is covered by clouds and the wind blows cold, everything looks gray.

I have been so distracted by reading that I did not realize how much time passed. Maybe it's just me, but I felt like as I was reading, pages keep adding to the books. I only managed to read 'Water' and 'Fire', I haven't finished 'Earth' yet.

It's cold here, the snow entering from the ceiling is freezing, I don't like it. Is there a way to cover it up? If I concentrate, maybe... The ceiling was repaired instantly, the snow stopped falling, but I still felt the cold.

Did I just repair it? I see... Maybe I can make the heat return too, I'll try. I focused on the heat. I felt the air temperature increased a bit, the room became warmer than before, I keep focusing on it, until I was comfortable with the result. Now I guess it's time for the light. I focused on making more candles and I putted some lamps in ceiling, I made sure that they will be fit the overall environment of the library, I didn't want to destroy the beautiful decorations with ugly elements. After finishing, the library looked much more cozy.

Since it seems like I'm going to be here for quite some time, I should repair everything now that I know I can easily do it, after all it's pretty sad seeing this beautiful place being all dusty and messy.

My 'journey' begin with those word as I moved from place to place cleaning, fixing and constructing all the spaces I thought necessary, soon I realize that it will take a long time, I needed another method, something that did it for me. Maybe I can create something that does my work for me, like a servant or an assistant.

What body should I give it? I was thinking of giving it a human form, but I feel reluctant to it, I might feel uncomfortable creating someone that I recognize as an entity equal to mine, I don't know if I could take the responsibility of creating life just because of my laziness... Whatever, these thoughts are useless, I should just do it.

What type of humans should I create, the only reference I have is me, and I don't want to create clones... I will take myself as a mold, then change it to create something new.

Let's see, I will make three entities smaller than me. They will have only two eyes and no other facial features, I don't want to interact with them in any type of way, other than give the orders. I will make them genderless by removing their reproductive organs and their hair. Their clothes will be black compared to my white robe, and black cloth will cover their entire head except for their eyes.

Perfect, now I'm going to concentrate and... The entities that I imagined appeared in front of me, they looked just like I was thinking.

"From now on you will begin cleaning, constructing and fixing this library"

"..."

Why won't they move? Maybe they need tools? Can't I give them some power that I have? I focus on them, and it looks that I was successful, listening to my orders they begin to move and do their job. They take much longer than me to use their powers. I do it instantly, while they take about two hours to do something.

Well, with that concern resolved, I guess it's time to get back to read again, I need to find answers to my situation. This time I will go for 'Earth'.
