The Orphans II

Suddenly there was a loud crashing sound as I threw a wine glass at my office wall, the red wine dripping down the wall. “How did they break the kinship connection?!” I yelled out loud, though there wasn’t anyone in the room. I was supposed to go grab those little freaks tonight, but they somehow were released from the connection. I gritted my teeth in frustration, my fangs scraping against one another. Somehow someone broke the connection… There is no way they could have died as they should be fairly strong since they share some of my own brilliant power, I thought twirling my long, white hair. “Byren come to my office now.” I said, using telepathy.

The door creaked open, the one coming in was my most trusted servant Byren. “Count Orien, you summoned me?” said Byren, his hands tucked behind his back, bowing as he came in. “Gather the rest of the servants, we are heading out to search for something.” I said, a devious smile crawling up my face as I imagined the wizard begging for forgiveness. “Yes Count Orien.” Byren responded, leaving the room, not asking any further questions just as I like it. The connection was lost near that small cave, so that must be where the mage is. I want to see that mage suffer, I think ill torture him for a little bit. That is the punishment for stealing the property of I, Count Orien.

I chuckled as I sensed at least 12 vampires outside of my lair. I had left two Darkness Knights to guard the little ones while I dealt with the invaders encroaching upon my territory. At last, an opportunity has shown itself, an opportunity to test my fighting prowess. I excitedly strolled through the halls of my lair, climbing floor by floor. I could sense the vampires arrive at the cave entrance, perfect as I had just arrived at the door. They jumped back, as they saw the door suddenly swing open. I sat back in the shadows, not revealing myself fully, for all they could see was a faint purple light coming from each of my eye sockets.

“What brings you here friends? I could sense some incredible killing intent coming from outside of my lair.” I said in a chilling tone. Then a male vampire appeared in a black suit, one a noble would wear to a party to gain favor with the host. “Ah, you must be the wizard, I seem to have lost two of my possessions around this area, and I was wondering if you knew where they could have gone?” He said, bowing to me in a noble fashion. I had suppressed my presence, making it seem I was around the power level of a decently talented mage, and it seems to have worked, as the man is practically spilling over with confidence.

“Oh, could those possessions be two young, dark elven vampires?” I said in a mischievous tone. He smiled, “Oh yes! Those little pranksters seemed to have run away from our home. If you would be so kind to return them, we would be out of your way.” He said, a vicious smile plastered on his face, which means he has other plans for me. “I am very sorry, but unfortunately I will be keeping them.” I said entertained. He seemed rather vexed by my statement as I could visibly see veins bulging on his head. “You chose wrong human! Be prepared to experience true pain dealt by I, Count Orien.” He snapped quite quickly, I laughed in my head. “Ah, it seems you have gotten a few things wrong, Mr. Orien.” I said laughing. “Correct me then.” He said, with an irritated smirk covering his face.

“Of course. First of all, I cannot experience pain. Secondly, I am not human…” I said slowly walking out into the moonlit forest, my true form plastering their faces with fear as they felt the pressure of my magic power hit them. “Third… I will be the one who deals this ‘true pain’ you speak of.” I said in a chilling tone as dark magic swirled around me. “Entertain me, vampires!” I yelled, letting out a deep, maniacal laugh. After that, the confidence that Orien had, dried up as his face contorted in fear, sweat dripping down his brow line. “Retreat! This monster is too powerful!” Orien yelled, trying to run away. “Don’t be silly, you put yourselves in this situation I am not about to let you turn tail now.” I explained, as a decently sized magic barrier appeared on all sides of us, then went invisible again showing them that they had been boxed in already.

For this fight, I decided to not use any necromancy for I wanted to fight by myself, without any help from summons. Their fighting style was very interesting, as they surrounded me, then took turns either attacking me with a blade or their blood magic, trying to overwhelm me. But of course, that wasn’t happening as I was easily blocking their attacks with magic of my own. After letting them make fools of themselves for a while, I decided it was time to attack. I rushed one servant, surprising him with my speed as I lurched outwards for his throat, crushing it with ease. After the first one, they panicked using their blood magic, sending all kinds of attacks toward me.

“[Nightmare Shield]” I yelled, which then came forth a pitch black substance forming a shield that had a mouth on it. It opened up, eating the magic, then lurched forwards out of my hand, consuming a vampire into its endless void before disappearing. “Ten left, how is everyone fairing?” I said, with an amused tone. “Is this a game to you?” Orien yelled, distancing himself. “Of course it is! Was it not clear?” I said, letting out a disturbing laugh. I then used [Dark Burst], launching black knives out of myself in all directions. The dark knives dug themselves into the heads of three vampires. One vampire jumped in front of Orien, taking a knife to the stomach. Cheers for the dedication there friend. Taking advantage of the situation, I formed a blade out of dark magic speeding toward the injured vampire, decapitating him.

After decapitating the vampire, I quickly spun around, blocking the blade of another vampire, then shoving my hand through their abdomen. Orien, seeing me occupied launched himself towards me, with a blade made out of blood magic. I spun around, using the corpse as a shield, then jumped backward. “You almost got me there Sir Orien!” I said chuckling. Orien roared in anger, shooting needles of blood at me, which I blocked with my sword. Suddenly, I sensed three presences behind me. I spun around, jumping backward sending a horizontal slash of dark magic, slicing three in half. Orien snapped, as he realized that there was no victory for him. He ran at me, a crazed expression on his face, sending waves of blood needles at me. “[Flash Freeze]” I whispered, sending a wave of freezing air, that froze all of the needles.

Orien jumped at me, swinging his blade down. “[Gravity Increase]” I chanted, sending him down to the ground, breaking his bones. “You… Yo-” He muttered before I froze his body completely with Ice Magic. I then stepped on his frozen body, shattering it into pieces. “How entertaining!” I said laughing out loud. After that, I strolled over to the vampires I had killed, taking their empty bodies inside my lair. “[Kin Revival]” I yelled, reviving the 10 servants Orien had with him, which now have become my servants, Though technically he had 11, one was unfortunately unrecoverable…

I sat on my throne, waiting for the unconscious vampires that now litter my floor, to become conscious. After a while, the servants woke up one by one, their faces filled with the utmost fear as they saw me watching them from my throne. “Welcome back to the living friends! You will serve me from now on.” I said, with a cheerful tone, as the vampires stood up in a line. One walked forwards, “I am Byren sir, we thank you for sparing our lives, for we will gladly serve under you.” Byren said bowing, sweat dripping from his forehead. “Very good! I am glad to hear such a response. I have rooms prepared on the upper floors, feel free to choose.” I said laughing. “Thank you, King Rhondu.” They said in unison, before quickly walking off. King Rhondu? I rather like how that sounds… No, I think Lich King Rhondu is better, yes I like that very much… I thought, chuckling.
