Each screen showed obviously different places in the universe. Some were civilizations or even cities, while others were deserted and uninhabited. Leo locked onto a planet whose environment seemed very primitive.

The drone quickly zeroed in on a beast.

It looked much like a yak, but was extremely fast and had terrifyingly sharp tusks.

Leo took a full minute to exhibit the animal to Han Yanyan from every angle, and when he felt that she had fully understood how terrifying and fearsome it was, said, "Watch."

He began pressing buttons. As he did, a white light enveloped the beast, just as it had enveloped Han Yanyan while she had been driving.

The beast disappeared from the desolate-seeming land, and the holographic screen flicked to one side to be replaced by another. Inside, the beast that had once run freely in the wilderness had entered an iron cage. It roared restlessly, slamming its body against the bars.

But with a flash of electric current, the enormous body fell to the ground.

Familiar-looking machines swarmed forward - thanks to them, Han Yanyan could tell that the beast was likely somewhere in the spacecraft right now.

It had been captured and brought here in a flash of white light by long-distance transmission technology, just like she had at the very beginning.

"Don't close your eyes," Leo said darkly. "Watch carefully."

She then saw the robots working together, skinning, deboning, and dividing up the meat. The large pieces were cut small, then swept by a cold light, instantly frozen, and sent to cold storage.

In less than a minute, all that was left of the ferocious beast was a skeleton. The bones had been picked clean. Even the organs had been processed.

"I advise you to cooperate. If you won't, this is how you'll end up. The hibernation pod is nothing - if you anger me again, I'll skin you and chop you into pieces," Leo said coldly, "Get it, Han Yanyan?"

She got it.

Han Yanyan grabbed Leo's sleeve and pointed at the screen. "Stop them! Don't let them throw away those bones! Leave them for me to make soup with tomorrow!"

"Hey!" Leo pulled his sleeves back out of her fingers, flushing with agitation.

"Hurry!"

He reluctantly moved his fingers, and the robots rapidly sealed up the bones she had asked for, sending them to cold storage as well.

"Don't pick all the bones so clean next time," she instructed in a very dissatisfied manner. "Remember to leave some spareribs."

Leo: "..."

Han Yanyan yawned. "If you get up early tomorrow, I'll make some wontons with the fresh meat in the morning. Now, it's late and I'm going to bed.”

Then she left.

Leo watched her go, pondered a while, and then puffed out his chest. "Scaring her seems to work pretty well. She's already begun trying to use good food to please me."

"Yes, Master," replied the system.

Wontons could be made by the food processor, and Leo remembered having eaten them before. They had tasted averageOr mid, as the kids call it.

He couldn't help but look forward to how they would taste when Han Yanyan made him.

It was difficult for a person who had been used to staying up late and having an irregular sleep schedule to adjust. And now that he was also thinking about the presence of Han Yanyan's carefully prepared breakfast the next morning, Leo was so nervous he couldn't sleep.

When he woke the next day, he had overslept. Really, it was so hard for someone who had lived an undisciplined life for decades to settle into a regular routine all of a sudden. Leo wanted to bang his head against the wall.

"Where is she? What is she doing?" he asked.

"Warning, Han Yanyan is currently in the kitchen, in possession of a lethal weapon! I repeat; Han Yanyan is currently in the kitchen, in possession of a lethal weapon!" the system reported dutifully.

Leo's eyes lit up.

The dining room had changed.

What had been a simple dining table had been replaced by a small, solid wood table and covered with a lovely tablecloth. The chair cushions and tablecloth matched, and were both in a pastoral, feminine pattern. You could tell at a glance that it had been carefully arranged by a woman.

There was even a beautiful glass vase on the table, although it was empty of any flowers.

Leo was very glad that this time he had walked in gracefully in a clean white shirt, instead of holding a gun and losing his temper like last time. At least he wouldn't look so dumb.

When he made his way to the door of the kitchen, the hatch opened and a wonderful aroma drifted out.

"What's this smell?" he asked, his nose twitching.

"Bone broth." Han Yanyan answered, her hands busy.

Since this woman still had a 'lethal weapon' in her hand (she couldn't kill him, but could easily disable him, just like last time), Leo Parker of extraordinary IQ stood wisely at the door to the kitchen and peered inside, firmly refusing to go in.

"Why are you here so early?" Han Yanyan asked without looking at him. "It'll be a while yet."

She was using natural tools. Cooking over an open flame was much slower than cooking with a laser.

But Leo was willing to wait.

Han Yanyan turned to see him standing at the door. "What are you standing there for?" she demanded. "It's all smokey and oily in here. Go on, get out of here. Go over there."

"Oh," Leo replied stupidly. He returned to the dining room and sat down at the bucolic dining table.

As soon as he left, the kitchen hatch closed. He hesitated, then whispered to the AI to open the door just a crack so that he could see through it from the dining table. Han Yanyan was busy in the kitchen, and perhaps it was for her convenience when cooking,  but the dress she was wearing today was very ordinary and homey-looking. It seemed very comfortable.

Leo felt like he was starting to lose his mind. He pulled up a screen at the dining table, accessed a project that he had not yet finished, and continued working on the calculations. The screenful of data streams and complex calculations quickly calmed him down.

This is how Han Yanyan operates, he thought.

This method wasn't new. He had watched Yao Chen's world closely and knew perfectly well that this was exactly how Han Yanyan had deceived Yao Chen.

He had seen innumerable times with his own eyes how Yao Chen, out fighting and killing and full of rage, would come back home to lean against the kitchen door and watch the woman bustling about inside, a look on his face that could have been called gentle.

Leo, looking in from the outside, had been elated to see Duke Kline make a fool out of himself.

Yes, this damned woman was a crafty one, a master of playing with hearts. Any man who trusted her was an idiot.

Clever, brilliant Leo Parker would never be taken in by her tricks.

Now completely calm, Leo felt like his head was very clear indeed. He had seen through her, and her lies would never work on him. Thinking this, he looked up instinctively and glanced past the door.

Han Yanyan had filled a small bowl of soup and tasted it. Then she set down the bowl hurriedly and fanned cool air into her mouth with one hand.

Ah... did she burn her tongue? Leo's heart tightened, and from then on he never took his eyes off her figure again.

In this world there are a great many people who, despite knowing that a trap lies ahead, will still insist on jumping in.
