Chapter 77: The Nine-Tailed-Fox’s Puppet

A symbol in the form of a talisman was pasted on Lee Jeong-Hun's forehead, as his pupils dilate and he stopped all motion previously. It was very similar to a Jiang Shi.

The moment Abe Kazue and Sasaki Kaguya arrived on site, Lee Jeong-Hun had fallen into her trap. Now all that was left was a mindless puppet that can be controlled by the monster.

"Finally, a useful toy for me to play with," Tamamo-no-Mae said while stroking the hair of the no. 1 awakener like he was a dog.

As Lee Jeong-Hun emerges from the smoke as their opponent, Kazue and Kaguya immediately went into an offensive stance. They knew there was no chance they could win against Lee Jeong-Hun. 

"Go forth," Tamamo-no-Mae ordered. Lee Jeong-Hun moved forward and started attacking the duo. Kaguya immediately draw her katana and blocked the strikes made by Lee Jeong-Hun, while Kazue was behind as support following up an attack with her naginata every time Kaguya successfully blocked the attack. 

These 2 ladies were not on good terms previously. However, due to specific circumstances, they are now forced to work together for various missions. Because of this, the two managed to work with each other well, building very strong teamwork between the two. They even managed to have a system of fighting without even needing to rely on their mouth to communicate.

Lee Jeong-Hun started thrashing everywhere with his sword, and the two of them started dispersing to avoid getting caught in his attacks. Several [Phatom Cleave] were launched all aiming at the two champions. Kazue was able to block most of them with Barrier magic however one of the Phantom blades managed to cut Kaguya's arm.

Tamamo-no-Mae who was watching from behind sat still and enjoyed the battle between them. She then walked up to where Kaguya was cut and crouch down. On the ground was where Kaguya's blood was splattered. With her finger, she dipped her finger in the blood, picking it up and licking it.

"Yummm. So sweet," she said while smiling brightly.

Kaguya and Kazue felt extremely disturbed at the sight of that scene while Lee Jeong-Hun continued walking up to them to launch his next attack. His pupil is still dilated and lost in hallucination.

Just then.

Thumppppp

"!!!"

Something fell from the ceiling crashing right where Tamamo-no-Mae was standing.

The Fox moved out of the way before the object could land on her while her puppet retreats to protect his master, positioning himself in front of the Fox.

Emerging from the pile of debris was a silhouette of a man. The man was wearing a Mask similar to a Kitsune Mask. His outfit looked ragged and torn, something that looked like it came from the medieval period. 

However, the masked man's back was bigger compared to before. His physique changed, looking at someone who was bodybuilding as his arm and back muscles can be seen very obviously.

Both parties stared in confusion as the man in the middle stood up as if nothing happened and went straight into patting the dust off his shirt.

"Wha____"

"Red-dono!!"

Red gave a small wave of hello to Kaguya before turning his head to face the puppet and his master.

Irritated by her entertainment getting ruined, Tamamo-no-Mae snapped her finger, summoning the Foxfire and targeting it at Red.

The flames flew towards Red at a lightning speed. However Red could already see what the Fox was through his vision and the moment the flame came within an arm's reach towards him. 

He kicked it away with his bare feet.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

All three ladies watched what unfolded in confusion as the fox fire that was kicked off burned the entire armour of a samurai the moment it touched it.

Red then proceeds to taunt the Demon with just his fingers alone. He provoked the Nine-Tailed-Fox to "come here".

Infuriated the Fox clenches her fist and spoke.

"Go."

The Puppet Lee Jeong-Hun went straight for Red and started striking him with the sword. Red, equipped with fingerless gloves, lowered his body for a better centre of gravity. Lee Jeong-Hun came into his range of attack using [Frozen Fang] hoping to end the battle immediately.

However Red had other plans, the person in front of him was not the same person who defeated him. The one in front of him was reckless and rash, there were too many openings in his attack.

Before [Frozen Fang] landed on Red, he purposely stepped in closer to Lee Jeong-Hun and, concentrated with aura. Gathering the energy around him, he gathers them in the palms of his hand and with no hesitation, strikes it directly at Lee Jeong-Hun's body.

[Aura-Infused Palm Strike]

Single Target Skill

A palm strike, that had drawn aura from the entire body to a single point struck at the target resulting in an attack with devastating power.

Combo: 1

Status Effect: Immobile 

The attack landed perfectly on Lee Jeong-Hun causing him to fly a couple of meters away, crashing against the exhibitions and the wall. It's safe to assume something broke when the attacks landed due to a cracking sound being heard when the attack landed on impact.

Weirdly enough, the impact also managed to lift the curse cast by the Fox with the talisman attached to the head of an awakener, burning to ashes.

"Wow. You're a mystery. How did you manage to break my curse with just a punch?" The Fox asked while checking on the unconscious Lee Jeong-Hun passing out in the corner.

"This makes me even more curious. How much life force can I draw out from you to regain my strength?" 

As she said that, in a blink of an eye, her entire being disappeared. But that wasn't a problem for me. Using Aura sensing I could have at least a rough idea of where she had positioned herself in. The moment she stops moving, I knew something was up, she was attacking. 

Quickly dodging from the right side, the floor beside me was suddenly smashed. There was a hole in the middle of it as I quickly create a gap between us avoiding everything she throws at me.

"Don't go dying on me so quickly, ok?" She says as a barrage of magic spells was invoked, all floating up in the sky and aiming for me.
