(Trigger Warning: Gore, Intense Violence.)
As the bullets fell, the swords swiping and the fists falling directly at me I didn’t move…I didn’t flinch…I didn’t do a single thing. All I could think to do was to move but instead, take one deep breath as I closed my eyes.
In one moment, I could see pitch darkness…and in the next…everyone and everything was made of blue and red dots. Every human In front of me was made of blue and red dots alongside everything around them.
What was this? What was I seeing exactly?
What would happen if I were to touch the red parts?
SMACK!
“AUGH…ACK…sigh." Proclaimed one of the men who was falling down at me from the sky.
As my eyes opened again I could see that the man in front of me wasn’t dead but instead was bleeding from his nose and mouth. He moved from side to side in pain with no sign of getting up. What had I done to him?
I would need to do it again if I were to fight back against every single one of them. Not killing any of them but only maiming them.
But I didn’t have much time to think of what I did as from every direction these men and women attacked with such ferocity. Doing my best to avoid every single one of their attacks left them angry and confused. Why wasn’t I killing any of them? Why wasn’t I more lethal with the man who I put to the floor bleeding?
They too had many questions.
But the only answer I could give them was my fist.
“Fight back you coward! You think you can just get away with killing my daughters and come out alive! Face me Black Demon! FACE ME!” Said the man in front of me with each swipe of their sword.
If this body was once used for killing then there must be some kind of muscle reflexes for fighting, right?
Time to put that to the test!
“AHHHHHHH!” Said the man with one large swipe of his sword.
SMASH!
It only took my hand grabbing the sword and pressing down for the man’s sword to break into pieces. Even with the sword broken the man didn’t give up. All he did was keep swiping with his broken sword hoping for some kind of injury for me.
SMACK!
And with one quick jab at his nose, the man was down for the count.
But that didn’t mean the fight was over.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Three spears met the floor as my body jumped high into the hair. It was almost like I was flying but only for a few moments right before I fell back down onto the floor breaking each and every one of their spears.
“You son of a…!”
SMACK!
“Bastard…!”
SMACK!
“You demon!”
SMACK!
Each of the three men had now fallen to quick kicks onto their faces.
Looking around I could see that all the men and women whom I lead struggled to fight them without killing anyone. With each swipe of a sword, each bullet shot at them, and each spear flung at them these people of mine. Each of them fighting for dear life.
These men and women of the village were looking for blood and nothing more. None of them saw any of these men and women as human beings, instead each and every one of them saw us below human.
So it’d make sense to treat them as they treated us one would believe.
But that wasn’t how I liked to do things.
Three spears in my direction.
SMASH! SMASH! SMASH!
Three male martial artists in my direction.
SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!
Three swordsmen in my direction.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
No matter how many people came each and every one of their weapons were destroyed by my bare hands as my fists met their faces.

At this point, there were not that many people to fight for me but it only took one moment to see that the people I was supposed to lead were near death. All of them suffered incredible wounds that left them bleeding to death or worse…dead.
All but one woman stood fighting and each and every one of the villagers. With each strike, she saw fit to brutally maim not kill the villagers which led to the broken bones of many of the villagers.
These people followed my orders even though it meant death for them. That kind of loyalty was far beyond anything I have ever seen even with the army back in my home. Was I leading some kind of cult? How many other men and women did I lead that were willing to die for me?
In the moment there was only but one woman who followed my orders and she looked as if she was about to be beheaded If I didn’t interfere right NOW!
“You bitch…AUGH!” Said a village woman who was nearly about to kill the last follower of mine.
And with one blow to the back, the attacker was out.
The masked woman had fallen to the floor In exhaustion taking in multiple deep breaths. By the looks of it, she looked as if she was ready to pass out but once she saw me her energy came back in an instant.
“Master…is it over? Did we win?” She said slowly getting up from the floor with me helping her.
“Yeah…it’s over.” I said looking over my shoulder at all the men and women revealing in pain.
“And the others…did they make it?”
“I…I’m afraid not…” I said looking back at all of my followers who were all dead or mutilated.
Some had their bodies cut to pieces, ripped apart and one was even beheaded. I didn’t know how to tell the woman other than to move to the left to show her.
I couldn’t tell what her face looked like due to her mask but from what I could tell of her body language she was devas…
“They were weak anyway, lower class demon warriors, better they die alone rahter than as an embarrassment.” Said the woman walking back to see how she could open the gates.
“What?” I said out loud due to how shocked I was.
Her companions were all brutally slaughtered In front of her and all she could think to do was say how weak they were?!?
Did I truly lead a group of monsters? Did none of them have any kind of empathy whatsoever? Was this world so cruel and uncaring that even someone of your own group was completely worthless cause they died following orders?
Is there not even a single beacon of hope in this land?
“Kid, you’re looking at him.” Said a distinctive yet reconizable old man.
Looking behind me I could see old man Zhao in his white robes looking at me with a look of happiness and admiration. With a single placement oh his hand on my head he looked at me like a father would look at a child they were proud of.
“Do you really think I’d just leave you to die? After all the moment I saw you unconsicious I knew that you weremt Zhiyuan my former student. With you here now you can lead us all to peace and freedom from these terror groups. You Lixin Zhang shall be my final disciple in the world of martial arts.” Said the old man letting go of my head.
“How do you know my name? I never told it to you?” I said stunned at this man’s sudden change in demeanor from wanting nothing to do with me to me becoming his disciple.
Just what in the heavens was this man on about.
But…this was help that I needed.
This was my beacon of hope.
“If you keep you’re mind so open one might enter it. Now. About that girl.” Said old man Zhao as he pointed at the masked woman.
“What about her?”
“Shall she join you on your quest? After all I alerted her and the others to this village in hopes to see what’d you’d do against uncertain odds. And you didn’t disappoint. But now that that’s over, she is of no use to us. So Lixin Zhang…shall I kill her?” The old man said as he made his left hand into a fist.
“There’s been enough violence old man. She stays and we go…together.” I said walking toward the gates.
“A wise or foolish decision, only time will tell. But before we go, what about the princess you brought here? Do you wish to leave her here? Or do you wish to take her with us as well?” The old man said with a smug look on his face.
“Old man…you already know the answer to that. Where is she?” I asked looking for the house we were at.
“That’s quite simple, she’s in the carriage you brought her in right over there. But know this Lixin, if one brings on so many burdens, one might forget that they have needs too.”
“Shut up old man.” I said grabbing the carriage handles moving the carriage towards the gate.
As the gates opened out came the masked woman skipping her feet as she hummed a song to herself.
“So master? Shall I kill this old man?” Said the woman as she looked at me with her mask covering her face.
“No, he stays alive, do you hear me…alive.” I said pulling the carriage.
“But what about our no prisoner policy? What’s gotten into you..?”
“I said he stays ALIVE…that’s a fucking order.”
