The cold marble tiled floor tuned to a warm wooden floor. The room lit and warmed by the magical fireplace. There were lots of redwood bookshelves, with a variety books arranged by the letter in the alphabet. The redwood table had a book with the middle of the paged already exposed. On the red couch sat two people, his parents.

His majesty Danial Maybale is 43 year old man, with short black hair and azure blue eyes, with sleek cheeks on his face that managed to charm any women he met. He wore his sapphire red renaissance suit with golden lining like Kant's suit. However, there was a certain pale weak look to him, as the disease retained in him. The queen, Malinda Maybale, who was and looked similar in age, being only 41, had ice blonde hair with great glistening blue eyes, amplifying her beauty that made Danial fall for her. She wore a red gown with a large overskirt.

Though the coupe are both in their 40s, they had managed to keep a younger appearance thanks to their magical abilities, outliving many of the commoners and 'empty handed' folk of their kingdom. Kant grabs a chair and sits down, and holds his head using the dorsal of his hands. The king and queen hid their pain seeing the depressive face he gave. They haven't been seeing him at all, focusing more on the other talented siblings.

"So... Prince Kant..."

Kant simply stared at him, waiting his father to find the words to speak.

"I am sure you are aware of my disease, right?"

Kant simply nods.

"Well then good! It means that we would have to go to the city of Nexert to get our treatment, which is down South from the city. We are not sure how long we have to stay.

Since our treatment would take months at least, I would like for you to manage the city while we are not around. It will only be for a few months at most!" he said.

"Doing this for us would be extremely wonderful darling. If you are successful, you might even be able to get a bride!" the mother added in. The father nodded.

Kant looked at both of them firmly, before asking "Why can't they come here?"

"Well, because they specifically requested us to go there. Don't worry, I know the king of the city. We met at the academy when were were at your..."

He immediately stopped. Kant didn't react. He just nodded at their request, accepting it. The parents gave out a sore smile.

"Good. We will make the preparations. You are dismissed."

Kant got up and left the room. As he closed the door on them, the mother bursts in tears again and cries on her husband's shoulder as he comforts her. The coupe feared for their child's future.

"There.. there my prescious. It will be okay. We will find a way to help him."

He takes out her napkin wipes his wife's tears.

"I don't know Honey..."

"Don't worry. He will be okay. He is a smart kid like the others. They just haven't realized it yet. They will come around, just like we have." he said.

Kant went along the day as normal. He went to his room to paint, a lifetime hobby he used to cope with his loneliness. This time of his killing in his previous life. After it was set and done, he looked at it. The picture, which was a near perfect image of the scene, like a photograph.

He stepped back and looked at the man. The man he once was; Howard Bright. As he sat in deep though further, he remembered a bit of his life, of all the hardships, the sufferings, and all the work he had put in to get to the position of billionaire. He sits down on his swivel chair, and starts questioning himself.

"The dream. Was it real? Was what saw something I had experienced before, in a form of another man, or just a figment of imagination, made subconsciously by my brain to cope with my failure of a life?"

He had a hard time believing himself. It all felt like déjà vu. He looks onto his chair.

"Wait, the chair!" he said to himself. How did he invent it? Where did that idea come from. He looks around his room, looking for more items that he had brought from the old world with his mind.

His eyes spots his black umbrella. Now, umbrellas have existed since forever. No doubt, but this one was an automatic umbrella, invented in the 1920s back in the old world. He looks for more. On the redwood desk, he looks at the black typewriter he also made, using white sheets of paper, a rare sight.

More memories flooded his brain. He remember playing chess against his parents, and even winning multiple times. There was the time where he used the piano, playing songs old and new. More and more of these examples came to his head. Throughout the day, all his life, all his previous memories, had come back to him.

It was hard at first, but slowly, he came to realize the hard truth. The truth of his reincarnation, off to another dimension, similar to our own. Yet as he pondered about the situation he found himself in, something struck him.

"If I truly have reincarnated, won't that mean..."

He was not the hopeless kid he thought he was. He was lead to believe, for all his life, he was worthless. That without magic, he could never be able to achieve anything remarkable without an ability he was not born with.

If the modern world, an ever changing world where every man lived like a king, truly did exist, he was the only one to be able to bring forth the way of life and the living standards of it, and exterminate the demons plaguing the lands here. With that, Kant who had gained a new sense of self confidence, walked over to the library, to learn of the city he would rule, at least temporarily.

The city was located on an island, that was protected by two other islands, and a natural river called the Pixie river, flowing upstream, which was little as either 40 to 50 feet wide to a whole 8km wide, acted as a moat that defended the city against the demonic beings. The island that the city settled was called the Santo island, which meant something else entirely in an ancient forgotten language. The Pixie river was also connected to a large drainage basin, allowing the city to become a commercial hub.

The city had a diverse economy, with mines that produced lots of metals, an agricultural sector that produced enough food to feed and sustain the city's ~210,000 people. There is a sizable merchant class thanks to the city's location, along with many specialists. Most of the area of the used to accommodate the homes of the people who live here, while the rest are for other purposes like business.

The city seemed to be pretty stable. But there were some problems, according to Kant's 21st century mindset. There were still a lot of unnecessary regulations that makes it hard for businesses to operate, and serfdom is widespread in the city as well as inequality, diseases were extremely widespread and the population is relatively uneducated and illiterate.

In terms of technology, it was about as advanced as any other city. But to him, the city was a total backwater. People crapped in the streets. There was no infrastructure for sewage systems, or water pipes. Many had to resort to drinking beer instead of water, not just to cope with living in the city, but to stay hydrated. Many went to sleep at sunset, wake up at midnight, stay awake for 2 hours, then go back to sleep.

Politically, the city, and the rest of the world, had a feudal structure in place that was similar to that of the old world, with monarchs all over the world deriving their political power from their skill and potency in magical ability, which they used to protect the people of the city. This philosophical outlook that came from the church, was not totally new, as it had evolved from 'the strongest man shall rule' from the previous cycle. However, it was a problem.

Kant had no magical power, meaning that he was dead last when it came to replace the older king. In fact, he was only chosen because he IS the only option for the king and queen. If he were to rule, he would have to prove himself, to the commoners and nobility alike, that he was not some weak ruler that cannot control the people.

Gripping his hand, he promises himself one thing. He promise that he, no matter what, will lead this world into a new age, to bring this near primitive world technology and wealth they had never seen before, to lead them into a new age for humanity now and beyond.
