Chapter 11: Chapter 10: The Midnight Enlistment Exam Part 3

Deus was surrounded. He dashed and weaved through elemental attacks. But before Deus could even think about a counterattack he was meet with a fierce punch by the enhancers. He had no choice at the moment, but to dodge. 

"Well, this isn't good. I don't even think I can take on this many enemies at once, at least not in this situation." 

"You should watch your mouth Deus, not your going to fail" one of espers shouted, as he strung a punch at Deus. But He dodged, as the Esper attack shatter the ground instead. 

Deus had an idea, one to turn this situation in this favor. It was true, that he was outnumbered, but their attacks was uncoordinated and the situation was chaotic. He could take advantage of this. 

Deus noticed the unstable nature of the floor, as he weaved across another elemental attacks. Deus was backed into an corner, as the crowd of esper surrounded him. 

"You got nowhere else to go, Deus." 

"Yeah! Give Up" 

"Is that so?" Deus smiled, as he mustered all of his strength into his fist, as he punched the ground. Shattering the entire floor. 

Everyone was falling to the ground, in the bottom level. Smoke coated the area. 

"Damn! Where did he go?" 

As he turned around, he was meet by an fellow Esper. "Oh! Thank goodness it's you. Let's go eliminate the bastard." As the Esper turned the Esper felt a sharp pain in his back, as he turned around. The esper was the culprit "Why you traitor" 

"It's nothing personal, I just have to be the top 15" 

"Looks like my plan worked, now that they're separate and there's no common enemy. They will start picking each other off" Deus landed on the ground, as he glanced around. "Now, I can use this to my advantage." 

Deus felt the hairs on the back of his neck , as if someone was watching him. As he turned around he was met with a fierce attack. He jumped backwards to doge and was about to unleash his lighting power when he was met with a wind attack that cancelled it out. 

He managed to recover and land softly on the ground. There two men appeared from the shadows, Oscar the man to the right as he had black spiky hair and green eyes. The other to the right had name was Chester he had an bald head and muscular build, as he wore chains on his fist "I take it you guys are here to eliminate me"

"Hey! Alister aren't you worried for your friend " 

Wind burst behind the man, knocking the would-be attacker unconscious. 

"He can take care of himself. Besides they're not many who can beat him in combat." 

"True, but you know he's going to be targeted from the start." 

"Yeah, well he just find a way out of it like he always does." Alister nonchalantly said, as he weaved through an Esper. Before his ally knock him out. " If they were smart they would try to ally with him, but then again he has an awful personality. "

" Btw, I heard you're the only one who was able to beat him as a Class S Esper. So how did you do it"

"Deus is a hybrid, he has an enchaner strength,speed and reflexes. But to boot he also has an elemental with his lighting abilities. It will be hard to beat him in combat whether one on one or with an squad." 

Flashes of the scene of fighting Deus played in Alister's mind, as Deus launched attack after attack using his lighting abilities. Alister sighed, as he knocked out another Esper. "He's weakness is that he relies too much on his lighting especially for counterattacks. Wind cancels out lighting. So before Deus could counter I would always defeat him. That's he's weakness "

"Just my luck, a wind elemental " Deus remarked, as he dodged Chester punches. But as he tried to counterattack with his lighting. It was cancelled out by Oscar wind, as he sent Deus flying to the air. 

Chester took advantage of this situation and jumped after Deus launching a fierce punch that sent him crashing to the ground. Deus coughed up blood; ignoring the pain to his stomach he manage to get up but was meet with an wind attack that sent him flying into an wall. 

Before Deus could even recover, Chester had already reached him and punched him through the wall. 

"Damn, this isn't good. Unlike before where I was outnumbered I used the uncoordinated attack's and chaotic nature of the arena to my advantage" Deus falled to the ground and coughed up blood once again, as he breathed heavily. 

"These guys have perfect teamwork,the enhancer is here to keep me on my toes and deal big damage. While the wind elemental counter my lighting and support the enchaner" 

Chester came crashing through the wall. He picked up Deus by his neck and slammed him against the wall. 

"It's obvious that if I want to win this fight I have to eliminate Oscar.But the problem is… " 

Oscar emerge from the crumble wall, steeping careful over debris as he made his way towards the two. Deus watched the two smile at each other with a malicious grin.

"How am I'm going to beat this perfect duo"
