Chapter 3
The Beginning of the "definitions"?
[Select 3 individuals to send a message to in hopes to receive a Mentor. If a potential Mentor is interested they will be able to initiate an interview. Upon Interview Mentor will decide on whether or not to acquiesce a Mentorship.]
'Woah that's something. Ok analyze. It seems like the system at least by how this is written doesn't really want me to have a mentor, considering the usage of the word acquiesce or perhaps the mentors are reluctant by default? Also I get only three chances? I assume this is the only three that I get. There is obviously going to be a benefit to me for having a mentor, especially if it's someone on this list, but will they get a benefit? If I had to guess their benefit is probably related to if I'm shit or not in the long run. So it's probably of an investment thing and whether you invest in some trash who doesn't even have a Template yet when you are on the top of the list would be a hassle. Considering they might turn me down, I assume it's more than just the loss of time they will suffer. I should try to get a definition on these if I can.' I muse in my head as I tilt it back and forth. "Mentor."
[Mentor: A system assisted individual who forms a mentorship with an unlanded individual. They provide guidance in some form or another with limited information exchange for potential gain.]
'hmm that's not very clear, but Unlanded?' "Unlanded." a new bubble forms ahead of the others. 'there are a lot of bubbles stacked I really hope this doesn't keep happening.'
[Unlanded: An individual who is currently without a noble title.]

'kind of surprised Noble Title isn't in bold, perhaps myriad is holding out on me.' "Noble Title." I wait a bit and nothing new pops up, 'looks like that's one I will have to figure out on my own. Ok let's move to the next bit' "Mentorship."
[Mentorship: A system assisted connection between a Mentor and an Unlanded individual. The mentorship consists of limited information exchange as well as general guidance. System assisted communication will commence upon minor noble title bestowments. Mentorships last until the individual perishes, the mentorship is rescinded, or the unlanded receives a landed noble title.]
'well that's a doozy, seems like these titles are related to a larger form of system advancement? Perhaps at specific power or levels? Maybe with quest completions? I don't really have a clear idea of how advancement really works. It's also specified limited information exchange twice so I assume there are some kind of rules for what the mentor can and can't tell me. One more to go.' "Interview."
[Interview: A system assisted connection between a potential Mentor and individual. The interview will consist of a simulated face to face interaction upon accepted interest of the intended Mentor. The interview will last for an indeterminate time.]
'Indeterminate time? that seems, well, indeterminate I guess. I would assume myriad wants to keep it as an interview and not a crash course on its own. It seems like Myriad isn't interested in these mentors having a ton of interaction with their intended student, probably some bullshit about guidance versus directive. Though that kind of raises the question of why they even exist in the first place? I'm getting a lot of mixed signals here Myriad.' I sigh as I bang my head lightly on the rubbery surface I'm on. 'Well I've run out of definitions, let's take a look at this list of potential Mentors.' I reach on with my hand and pop all the bubbles with definitions to leave only the list. 'The list seems to go from left to right with ranking by my requirements, denote their noble title which I know means some form of rank not only within nobility, but also in some form of system recognition of power? Their name I assume and finally their Template.'
'Interesting.... The fact all the top 10 besides number 3 are Emperor or Empress which I assume is the highest nobility title? is quite interesting to me. I didn't get to denote exactly how much importance each requirement was, just the order of importance, is it 50%, 30%, 20% or is it a 40%, 35%, 25% split? I just have no way I knowing really. Though I can cross off a few of these based on names alone. Number 11, 10, 9, 6, and I guess 4 are out on the names alone. Muse and Fairy are out because well, I'm not really either of those things I'd say. Adjudicator is out because that seems more like some kind of judicial Template dedicated to some form of running a society. Protector is out because, well I don't really have a moonglade to protect. Not sure if that's important, but I can't waste one of my three potential mentor slots on an iffy pick. Same reason for number 4 and it also just kind of gives me a bad vibe. So that leaves me with 1-3, 5, 7, and 8. That's like 3 more than I can send offers to so time to get nitpicky. So let's go bottom to top. Anything beyond 11 is already out anyway when I only have three picks.' I tilt my head back and forth as I consider my options.
'Alright number 8, Druid of Incarnation, what does that mean. So a druid is like in gaming turns just the general term for a nature mage who melds with the nature around them, but who's to say it's that kind of druid? I know the word goes back to ancient Celtic society and is more like a head priest than anything else, they are healers, advisors, and religious leaders all packed into one. The question is it either of those? I'll put it on the maybe list because I don't really want a religious connotation necessarily.' I sigh as I bang my head against the rubbery surface and groan out a frustrated sound. 'I can't really extrapolate anything of value without knowing if these Templates have any stipulations. I'm just going to go with my gut and it's screaming at me that the only one in the top 10 who isn't the highest ranked should be my first choice. "Maestro of the Grove." It also seems music related and I'm definitely more skilled with an instrument than something like a bow. The fact they are there means they have lived a long time, but haven't achieved the max rank, but they also hold considerable power. I also think number 1 is probably the top of many other searches and is unlikely to even entertain the idea of an interview. Looks like I'm sending my message to 2, 3, and 7.' I let out a loud sigh as I look blankly at the list. "Send a message to two, three, and seven expressing my interest in getting a Mentor as a newly integrated world that just had its tutorial Prematurely activated and I am currently stuck in apparently a Baron level Trial and incapable of entering Tutorial Tempering." I muse that giving my what I assume unusual circumstance as my message might bring interest and at the very least pity.
