"Silas Destiny, you were humanity's greatest hope. What have you become?"
The uncomfortable, deep voice slowly wove itself into my consciousness. Gradually, my eyes opened, letting in the bright, piercing light of the hospital. Standing by the bed was the man dressed in full business attire. Looking down at me, he sighed.
"How did your life fall apart so much?"
"...we can save that story for another time, can't we?"
"Ugh, you were only released for two years. How can someone fall into such a filthy state?"
"I... guess that's what I get for showing too much kindness, eh?"
"Don't blame it on benevolence."
"Oh? But that's exactly what to blame."
Bringing up a large suitcase, the man took out a large number of documents. Looking behind him, it seemed that the hospital room had been locked. I guess this conversation between him and me was something not for the public eye.
"Look, I'm going to need to know the details."
"What makes you think that I'd tell you?"
"I don't want this to be difficult, Silas. I'm here to help you."
"I've had enough of all of you."
"Please... Silas. Just tell me what happened. What could make a 19-year-old, as perfect as you were, fall into such despair?"
"Ah, well, I guess it all began when I started teaching at an all-girls school."
