"Airbus stopping at Wellinvon, Calader, Veria and Marnora Station. Please remain seated before landing."

Lilian listened to the pleasant female voice as she turned on her Galv, which was disguised as an obsidian ring gracing her ring finger and one of the oldest version in its brand that connected her to the galaxy network. A screen flickered into existence, projecting itself from her hand, the size of a A4 paper and just as thin.

"Luckily, it still works," Lilian whispered to herself. She had just spent the last of her funds on her fortnightly groceries. She sighed deeply and patted her chest, thanking the gods that she had enough roan left.

Her head ached slightly, causing her to massage her forehand with one hand as she navigated the sky web with her other.

She clicked on the website she had saved. SKYINK.COM.FED, the only legal platform for online novels in the AVH federation.

She scrolled past many of the recommendations as she bit her lips, looking for a novel that might pique her interest. She ignored the suggestive covers featuring beautiful Vaterioans and outrageous titles that made any lady her age roll their eyes. Her eyes did linger on one for a second and a half.

My Bad Boy Dominant Aloian Husband Makes Me the Wealthiest Human Wife in the Galaxy.

She clicked her tongue in annoyance, thinking, Aloians and humans don't belong together.

She finally found an interest title, The Sword of Eternal Stone.

An eternal stone, she thought, an immortal stone? Who knows.

She clicked on the title and was brought to a synopsis and cover.

The cover was pretty simple with a boy holding a sword as he knelt on a small mountain.

Was the sword made of stone? Lilian thought. She read the description.

Lilian pressed back as she muttered, “Boring.”

She began to navigate the page again and then she-

ERROR.

THIS PAGE HAS BEEN SIEZED BY THE AVH FEDERATION MILITARY AND IS NOW UNDER INVESTIGATION.

“What the fuck?” Lilian swore loudly, her hand gripping her curly hair above her forehead.

“Excuse me?” An elderly woman spoke besides her.

Lilian froze, startled as she turned to the side and apologized to the woman seated beside her quickly, “Sorry Aunty.”

The elderly woman harrumphed, tapping her metal cane on the floor of the air bus. Her green eyes, under aged grey brows, looked at her as she said, “You should mind your language around children dear.”

Lilian looked over and saw a family of four staring at her. The mother giggled at her flustered expression as she held a chubby baby girl who slept soundly, her husband besides her, the father, who was glaring at her as he held a toddler on his lap.

The toddler pulled his fathers beard and pointed at Lilian, questioning his father, “Daddy, wat does fuck mean?”

Lilian winced as the man looked like he wanted to cross the space between them and give her an earful.

The mother chuckled, with one of her hands taking the toddlers hand. “It’s a word you are not allowed to say now, my baby boy.”

“huh?” The toddler was confused.

“You can say it when you are taller then Daddy,” the mother said, stroking his head as she stared down at him.

“Okay,” the toddler nodded seriously.

“I apologize for my behavior,” Lilian said, slightly bowing to them across the bus.

The mother waved her hand and sighed, “No problem, we all have our days.”

The man snorted.

Lilian ignored him and turned back to her screen. She froze remembering something, causing her to exist the page and going to her contact list. She searched until she found the person she was looking for, FATHER.

The screen rung until a face popped up. An elderly man, with long curly hair braided with beads on throughout, chuckled, “My daughter, you finally thought to call this father of yours.”

Lilian quickly pressed the volume button, selecting isolate. A transparent barrier covered her, isolating their conversation front the outside world.

Her father looked at her face concerned and exhaled, “Are you having those headaches again?”

Lilian grimaced. “How did you know?”

Her father let out deep sigh, “Your eyebrows are scrunched and your ears are red. Have you visited the doctors yet?”

Lilian shook her head, “You know I won’t. I can’t afford the bill with my salary and I don’t have time.”

Her father glared at her. “Lilian you cannot ignore your health, you should accept the money your dad and I want to send you, so that you can receive treatment.”

“Father, I can’t take your retirement money,” Lilian chocked, exasperated. “And it’ll go away eventually, it always does.”

The man clicked his tongue in annoyance.“You know, if your dad finds out your ignoring your health, he’ll hop in his air car, fly all the way to Low Moon City and beat some sense into that tiny little brain of yours.”

Lilian flinched, before tucking a stray curly piece of hair behind her ears. “Please don’t tell Dad.”

“You’re the daughter he gave birth to, he’ll find out eventually. And when he does-“

“When he does I’ll hitch a ride with a Galaxy Ship and sail to a different planet,” Lilian interjected.

Her father laughed before coughing, “Honey, you’re here. Lili, say hi to dad.”

“Hi Daddy, how are you?” Lilian ask softly as her dads face appeared on screen.

He looked younger then her father, his feminine features more beautiful then any human woman. He was the other half of Lilian’s DNA, a proud Vaterioan male with a strong personality, someone rare amongst his genders race.

Her Father was the only who could handle Dad, who caught him in a flash marriage when they were in college. Her Dad had done it to crush the prospective arranged marriage her dad was going to have to a wealthier older Vaterioan female. In the end, the both fell in love and had her.

Her Dads eyes softened as he stared at her, “How are you, my dear?”

“I am well,” she answered, ignoring her Father’s look. “How are you?”

Her Dad smiled slightly. “That’s good. I’m fine. Your father and I volunteered at the local library today, to help the younger generation in need.”

“That’s great Daddy, you’re amazing,” she complimented.

“What about this Father of yours?” her Father questioned, pretending to be angry.

“Your so and so,” she responded.

Her Father snorted, “Just you wait-“

Her Dad flickered her Father’s shoulder, making him go quiet as he sat down on the couch beside her father.

Her Dad then sighed and said, “You’ll be turning 35 soon…”

“It's 5 years away Dad,” she grimaced, knowing where his words will need to next.

“You know if you manage to find a spouse within the next 5 years, you’ll be exempt from having to participate in the Vateroia Ceremony.”

“Father I just don’t think-“ Lilian voice shattered, her mind going blank when metal hands grabbed her shoulders and threw her on the ground.

“LILIAN FENOR, YOU ARE NOW UNDER ARREST FOR VIOLATING THE ANIMAL CONSERVATION ACT 3119!!!”
