Chapter 5: Mama Visits

6 Months After Alicorn's "Birth"

Erik is leading Alicorn down the white steel halls of the facility. "Daddy, where we going?" Alicorn asks as her yellow eyes look around in curiosity. 

"To see your mother." Erik states.

Alicorn's eyes gain stars and she jumps up and down in excitement. "We're gonna meet Mama Yorktown?"

"That's the only name you've said right, so far." Erik mutters, then he shakes his head and looks down to Alicorn. "Yes, we're gonna meet your mama."

"YAAAAAY!" Alicorn runs down the hall and towards the main entrance. "MAMA!"

"Ahhh! Alicorn, wait for me!" Erik runs after his daughter.

Outside of the facility at the docks, stands a beautiful woman with White Hair and Navy blue eyes, next to her is a aircraft carrier.

Her name is Yorktown, the birth mother of Alicorn.

"MAMA!" A childish voice yells from up the trail and she looks to see Alicorn running towards her with Erik not far behind.

"Alicorn." Yorktown says sweetly as she walks towards Alicorn and picks her up as she reaches her child.

Alicorn rubs her cheek against Yorktown's cheek. "I missed you."

"I missed you, too. I'm sorry I haven't visited in nearly six months."

Erik reaches them and he's out of breath. "Hello... Miss Yorktown."

"Erik, I've said it before, call me Yorktown, drop the miss." Yorktown asks.

"Of course, sorry." Erik pants a few times. "Sorry, she was very excited."

Yorktown looks at Alicorn, who is still rubbing her cheek against her. "I can see."

Erik motions to the concrete path that leads to the facility. "Let's head inside, it's lunch time and they're serving ice cream for desert."

Alicorn gasps and she looks back at the facility. "ICE CREAM! Mama, let's get ice cream!"

Yorktown smiles. "Sure, but we must wait for your aunt Enterprise."

Alicorn looks at her mother and smiles. "Aunty Enty's coming?!"

Yorktown nods and a ship pulls in next to them and Enterprise jumps down from her ship and lands next to the three.

"Enterprise." Yorktown smiles.

"Sister." Enterprise nods.

"Aunty Enty!" Alicorn smiles.

Enterprise looks to Alicorn and gains a small smile, but then she looks into Alicorn's Siren Yellow eyes, then a frown forms on her face and she lightly glares at Alicorn. 

"Hmm?" Alicorn tilts her head.

Yorktown notices and her smile falters a little. "Enterprise."

Enterprise just looks away. "Let's just go." She walks towards the facility.

"She's been like this every time she visits." Erik states.

"I'll have a chat with her later." Yorktown says.

"Mama, why does Aunty Enty always seem unhappy?" Alicorn asks.

"The sirens have been giving her a bad time recently." Yorktown lies.

"Oh, those darn sirens." Alicorn frowns and pouts. "Making Mama always busy and making Aunty Enty unhappy. I'll show them how powerful I am!"

Yorktown and Erik chuckle and they start walking up the trail.

Erik ruffles Alicorn's hair. "You'll be the best siren hunter."

Alicorn smiles. "I'll protect Mama and Daddy from harm!"

"I believe in you." Yorktown smiles.

"Once you get your ship connected to you, you'll be able to protect everyone." Erik says.

"Oh, I can't wait!" Alicorn bounces in Yorktown's arms.

They reach the facility, where Enterprise is waiting for them. Erik walks to the door and swipes his key card and the door opens and the four walk inside.

"I can't wait for my ship." Alicorn bounces. "I can sail the ocean and see all kinds of fish. And I'll stare at the deep blue sky."

"I'll show you the world." Yorktown says as she moves some of Alicorn's hair behind her ear, causing her to laugh.

They reach the cafeteria and they enter it. 

"Ice cream! Ice cream! Ice Cream!" Alicorn chants. 

"Yes, yes." Erik says. "We'll get you some ice cream."

Alicorn throws her arms up. "Yaaaay!"

After a few minutes the group has trays of food, minus Enterprise, and they sit down at a table. Enterprise opens up an MRE and starts eating as Yorktown has Alicorn in her lap and is feeding her.

"How long do you think it'll take to finish building Alicorn's sub?" Yorktown asks.

"At our given pace, it'll be about nearly three years." Erik says.

"That long?" Yorktown asks as she feeds some Ice cream to Alicorn.

"The amount of siren metal we need is quite more than we thought." Erik says and he eats some salad. "Where nearly finished the frame, and were soon to move to do the interior. But the longest part is doing all the programming and setting up all the electrical equipment in her sub. Then we have to reverse engineer some of the siren's planes so we can build her SLUAV's."

"SLUAV?" Enterprise asks.

"Submarine-Launched Unmanned Aerial Vehicle." Erik states. "In theory they should be able to remotely control or program them to fly without a pilot. They can fly without a human or the control of a ship girl."

Yorktown feeds Alicorn more ice cream. "A plane flying without the control of a human or a ship girl, seems nearly impossible."

"Well, some of the world's best scientists are here in this facility Almost nothing is impossible."

"What would these, 'UAVs', be used for?" Enterprise asks.

"Mainly for her long range rail gun, so she can hit targets far out of her sight." Erik states. "And so she doesn't have to surface to launch air attacks."

Enterprise huffs as she bites into a piece of bread.

The sun is setting on the horizon as Yorktown, Enterprise, Alicorn, and Erik stand on the docks. Alicorn is standing in front of Yorktown, with Enterprise standing next to Yorktown. Erik is setting up a camera on a tripod.

"There we go." Erik says and he hits a button and runs over to the ship girls and stands next to Yorktown. "Say cheese!"

"CHEESE!" Alicorn is the only one that says it, Enterprise just stares at the camera, piratically emotionless. Yorktown and Erik smile along with Alicorn and a few clicks are heard from the camera as it takes a picture. 

Erik walks over to the camera and takes it off the tripod. "I'll get these proceed soon and send them back to Eagle Union headquarters for you two."

Yorktown clasps her hands together. "That's wonderful."

Enterprise doesn't say anything as she just jumps up to her ship.

Alicorn rubs her eyes. "Alicorn is tired."

Yorktown leans down and gives Alicorn a kiss on the head. "I'll see you later, sweetheart."

"Bye, bye, mama." Alicorn says as Erik picks her up.

"Be careful on your way back." Erik says to Yorktown.

"I'll be fine, see you two in a couple months."

"Bye, Yorktown."

Yorktown waves and jumps up to her ship and sets off with Enterprise following her.

"Are you ready for bed, Alicorn?" Erik asks.

Alicorn nods as her eyes droop.
