Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Meeting 2

“Fush…”

After hours spent flying at great speed, Zeus the king of Olympus finally arrives in the sky of Argo’s kingdom.

While waiting for the others to catch up he scanned the place with his sharp eyes while his shoulder-length white hairs were moving freely in the wind.

“Hm!” frowning while looking at the city below him he thought ‘I can’t see inside, he erected a barrier around the city…’

“fush…” 

While he was in his thought his son Ares arrived beside him

“fuh, fuh… haaa” Arriving by his side sweating, Ares took a few big breaths before ending with a loud sigh.

“Did you have to move that fast I was barely able to follow, the others are…” he said with a little irritation in the voice before being interrupted by Zeus

“I already slow down enough to allow you to follow, so do not anger me even more with your stupid questions,” replied Zeus to his son looking straight into the eyes of Ares,

To change the subject he turned his eyes toward the city

“It’s a powerful barrier, erected by someone skilled and powerful, it will take a little while to get through…”

At this moment the other gods began to arrive, all of them breathing heavily.

Without looking at them he said, “Take a minute to catch your breath while I take care of the barrier around the city” He said readying his axe

Looking at the barrier without listening to his son’s observation Zeus lifted his hand and the time began to change, thunder clouds gather around

“skrr”

Clenching his fist, the thunder in the clouds gathers in his hand that he throws at the barrier

“Bang” when the thunderbolt fell on the barrier, it destroys it without difficulty opening a massive hole in it.

“or we can do that,” said Ares looking at what his father did with a helpless smile

“Let’s go,” said Zeus letting himself fall into the city

Following Zeus, all the gods flew into the city 

“What happened here!?” exclaims Ares looking around the city, he and everyone around him were surprised by the carnage that they saw around them

The city was in a state of utter devastation, remains of corpses were laid on the ground all around them there was no house left standing

“Looks like the city too fell prey to the monsters around,” someone said

“that’s ridiculous, the barrier was still intact before we got in, why would someone erect a barrier to protect, that” another replied pointing around him

“The one who put the barrier in place, did it after the city was destroyed!”

“Why would anyone do something so useless?”

“For us,” said Zeus coldly, lifting his head, he was able to see the barrier that he had just destroyed rebuild itself stronger.

“Seems like someone was waiting for us!” said Ares putting his massive axe on his right shoulder,

The other gods following him took out their weapons hearing him

While they were readying themselves Zeus pointed his finger to his right

“Krrr” after he launched a thunder stream a scream of agony resounded attracting the attention of everyone,

Looking closely where the attack landed, they saw a big wolf-like monster dead there, that none of them had detected

“I leave that to you…” said Zeus flying toward the ruin of the palace in front of him

“No problem…” replied Ares planting his massive axe on the ground

Like if they were waiting for Zeus to leave a horde of monsters of all kinds and types began to appear barring their fang

“…heard it guys, those stupid monsters are all ours, make sure to slaughter them all,” he said with a massive grin

Maeron was seated on a throne in a very relaxed position with his hands behind his head and a smile on his lips, it was obvious that he was in a good mood

“Boom” a massive explosion occurs near him destroying a big part of the room and letting the sunlight penetrate the room

“Welcome!! Zeus, king of gods, I was waiting for you, it’s a pleasure to finally have you in front of me,” said Maeron with a big smile looking at Zeus

Contrary to Maeron who seems extremely happy Zeus he had a dark expression on his face,

“You must be Maeron!” he said in a cold and threatening voice, his facial expression became even darker than before

“I see that Hermes told you about me, how is he by the way, not too bad I hope, and your newborn…”

Before he could end his sentence an enormous thunderbolt arrived in front of him,

“Boom” 

A powerful explosion occurs in the room from outside one could see one of Zeus’ thurderblast going from the room to the barrier surrounding the city

 “I see that you’re not in the mood for discussion, king of Olympus,” the voice of Maeron resounded a few meters away.

Turning his head toward the sound of the voice Zeus frowned when he saw Maeron surrounded by a cloak of blue lightning

“Krrr…” distinctive sound of lightning coming from Zeus filled the room and eclipse the sound made by Maeron, outside, above the barrier dark clouds surrounded the entire city.

“How dare you use that power in front of me, vermin,” said Zeus with a chilling voice

“So much power, you really are worthy of your title…,” said Maeron still as fearless as ever, even in the face of Zeus’ overwhelming power

“…it will make bringing you down even more satisfying!” After he said that enormous explosions resounded all around the city coming closer and closer

“Your anger and arrogance have led you to come here, even though it was obvious that it was a trap, I switch the city of Argos with another one that was destroyed a few days ago, to prepare for your arrival”

Under the eyes of the gods, who were cleaning the monsters present in the city, a new wave of monsters, followed by titans, and giants began to emerge from the barrier and were walking from all sides toward Ares and his men

In the throne room, Zeus looked at all that without any change in expression

“Bang” in an instant he was able to reach Maeron and deliver a power strike that send him flying to the other side of the room

“You are sorely mistaken if you think that a trap like that will even make me sweat, I will defeat and capture you in no time, which is the only reason I am here, then I will take care of the pest that you brought with you, and bring you back to Olympus you arrogant one here punk!”

“Bang” Maeron flew out from the rubble he was surrounded by his cloak of lightning and attack Zeus at close range.

“Huh, go ahead, tried,” said Maeron facing Zeus who had blocked his attacks the two gods began to launch a series of attacks at lightning speed, in a few seconds the entire place was falling apart.

After having been blasted away by a powerful punch Maeron barely regain his balance when a blue spear appears in front of him

“woosh” his great reflex enhanced by the thunder cloak allowed him to avoid the spear, but just as he did he saw another one coming and another.

It did not take long before he found himself overwhelm and made a mistake

“Buzzz…” the moment Zeus’ spear hit him he was instantaneously stripped of his cloak and found himself groaning due to the pain unable to move a muscle.

“I told you it would be quick!!” said Zeus from afar launching a barrage of lightning spear at his opponent.

“Booom boom…”

A series of explosions occurs and, in a few seconds, the entire building was reduced to rubble.

From the distance, the titans and gods looked to see the building and its surrounding disappears under the waves of thunder.

“But I didn’t expect that to be that quick, not even enough to relieve my anger and stress of those few days,” said Zeus looking at the crater filled with dust that he had created with a somewhat disappointing expression when he felt the weakening energy coming from it.

Turning his vision away from the crater to look at the fight that was happening behind him he continues

“Doesn’t matter, there’s still those titans and giants that he brought with him, at least they will serve to something…huh!”

Before he end his sentence from the corner of his eye he saw a fist coated with blue thunder fall on his head

“Bam”

He fell from the sky at the speed of a rocket and crashes violently into the crater that he had created

“What?!” said Zeus on the ground he was stunned by the fact that Maeron took him by surprise

‘How did he do that?’ he thought

Even in that state of confusion he was still extremely focused on his surrounding, in fact, he was even more focused than before

He tried to get up as fast as he could while locking his attention on Maeron in the sky.

While he did, he heard the sound of thunder that he was so familiar with split the sky toward him

 For anyone else, the speed would have been nearly unavoidable, but for him Zeus he felt it was nothing

In an instant, he was already standing on his guard ready to strike Maeron, but when he looked up nobody was there, but he felt Maeron once again appear behind him and then he understood what had happened,

‘Teleportation…’ he thought, but that realization did not stop the attack from landing on him, he felt the leg of Maeron collide with the back of his head

“Boom” he was dragged face first into the dirt by Maeron over many kilometers of distance before a new series of explosions resound in the city.
