As the Glorious Ornament Box slowly opened, golden rays of light burst out from within.
The devs must really like the retro Zelda games.
Lucky for him, all the players are going to the barracks to find out what happened to Captain Bason. But, unfortunately, once an NPC dies, so do the quests they got from. In other words, they can't complete the quests anymore.
HA!
If he had opened the box in a crowded street, there would be no telling how many players Gazei would have to run or PK just to keep the item inside the box.
When the Zelda-like rays faded, a ring with the inscription of a mantis ring could be seen in the Glorious Ornament Box. Carved on the ring's red and gold exterior were words resembling the text of ancient China. On the ring was a golden rectangular pattern which was symmetrically spread throughout the ring. No doubt this ring holds great magic. There was no a light blue bracelet.
"Crap!"
Too bad this isn't the ring he needed. Carefully, he took the ring out of the box and inspected it.
[Mantis Ring] (Rare) (Superior)
Equipment Level: 0
- Strength+ 2
- Agility +5
- MP Max +15
- HP Max +15
- Light Resistance +5
Additional Passive: "Mantis Flip"
Greatly increased its user's jumping abilities and allowed them to jump and flip with the extreme height, skill, and agility of a mantis.
"Aight bet… This might work in my favour." While he couldn't get the ring of levitation. The Mantis Ring was a close third… Damn RNG. "At least you're a rare rank item."
There are many different weapons, armour, and accessories in Infamous Online, but your vocation and subclasses will restrict you to certain weapon types. Each class can use around four or five different weapons: all with different properties. Upgrading weapons will give both Piercing Physical and Magical Attack Strength. Please refer to Reinforcement for success rates and failure penalties.
All weapons can be found with five different qualities ranging from: Inferior - Weak - Ordinary - Exceptional - Superior
All classes have weapons of various rarities:
Item Grade
Weapons, Armor, and Accessories all can range from various grade qualities:
Grade quality affects certain stat ranges for these equipment. A weapon's grade quality depends on its Attack values, Armor is affected by its Physical defence values, and Accessories depend on its Magic defence values. Extra attributes such as Elemental Resistances, Status Tolerances, and Stat increases like STR, VIT, HP and MP are all not affected by the grade quality of the item in question, and the stats are always randomly generated. For example, a Weak item can have more STR than an Exceptional item. Grade quality affects the Physical Defense of Armors and the Magic Defense of Accessories.
There are five different slot equipment for armour: Head/Shoulder, Top, Bottom, Belt, and Shoes.
Head/Shoulder
Top
Bottom
Belt
Shoes
While Accessories include the (2) Bracelet, (1) Necklace, and (5 or 10) Ring slots. These items tend to give Magic defences and resistances but can also have special proc effects. In addition, upgrading accessories will give bonus Magic Damage Bonus Reduction.
At the start of the game, players only received one piece of Uncommon equipment. The equipment given is trash, no cap. While you buy better armour in the City-States or Province City is what is called in the Imperium. But the cost was simply too much. Buying Ordinary (Blue) equipment, those were extremely rare, and they also came with additional attributes.
Rare (Purple) and up only drop from bosses, Loot Boxes, or you have to forge them yourself. You can also get them from quests or NPCs that are blacksmiths.
In his previous life, that player that opened this box got the Ring of Levitation. It was Ordinary rank. The ring allowed the user to fly for about three minutes and didn't give any extra stats.
As for the necklace, it was trash, so he could sell it to an NPC for some Copper Coins.
After putting on the Mantis Ring, Gazei added all 8 points that come from levelling up two times.
Gazei's Agility rose to 19 points, his Attack Speed and Movement Speed raised to 9 points. While his casting increased to 7 points.
He was way passing a pure Ability build of the Assassin class and even Ranger classes.
"Just one more point before I get the passive skill." Gazei looked at his character stats screen with excitement.
Gazei ran forward his body, feeling it become more limber and livelier than before. Three times, in fact! If his Agility reached twenty points, the condition of the Agility stat would be unlocked. Every class gets a different skill. Fighters get the [Stampede]. The Maximizes the Fighter's Movement Speed and Basic/Skill Atk. Efficiency, so they can kick the ground and use the momentum to deliver fast, powerful attacks.
Afterwards, Gazei added 15 of his Free master Points toward his One-Handed Weapon Mastery, saving the 5 remaining points for later. With 20 points of One-Handed Weapon Mastery and the additional damage dealt by using a one-handed weapon like his Novice bat, the damage would increase by 10%.
There are five stages of mastery: novice, advanced beginner, competent, proficient, and expert.
He was 30 points away from Advanced Beginner. Besides six classes, basic attacks are the cornerstone for many classes, including Street Fighter. The Male Street Fighter is an unstoppable thug who will do anything to win a fight. Not necessarily interested in the sporting aspects of conflict, the Brawler uses blades, poisons, and other items to give him the upper hand. He is also prone to exploit dirty tricks, such as throwing sand in his opponent's eyes and even attacking them after falling. He is a long-range character who utilizes abnormal statuses like Stun (Status), Bleed (Status), Poison (Status), Burn (Status), Slows(Status), Bind (Status) and Blind (Status). In addition, he casts abilities in broad areas of effect.
Make are with skills and elemental attacks. The more, the better. After ten years of fighting in the streets and in Infamous Online, Gazei was an expert in fighting dirty. Sometimes he wished he didn't pick the Swordman class before, even without the ring he wanted. The Mantis Ring would still be helpful in getting his skills to level up.
"I remember right in the Ignis Imperiale there is an Angi Kai Challenge in the Ra Market. Players who cleared the challenge for the time would obtain a skill book to their related class."
Skill books are annoying to get. Most skill books dropped from monsters' level 3 and up, and the drop rate is worse than loot boxes. Currently, there are still no players capable of grinding anything above level 0 or 1.
It would be a waste of his time to grind fight monsters at those odds.
Rai Market of Sorelizar City
The largest marketplace of all the small cities in the Ignis Imperiale.
Shops filled everywhere, some selling silver, salt, wool, and items. There are pharmacies', workers, smithies, bars, weapons shops and many more. The developers wanted everything in Infamous Online to be realistic as they could. So, they set up trade like it would be done in real life.
However, as of right now, trade isn't blossoming as it should be. Only eight hours have passed since Infamous Online was launched. So, most players were busy levelling up instead of buying items or doing quests that would unlock trade across the four nations.

Because of this, the only players in this market are the Luxury Players. Some players don't like combat or doing quests that much. They are here to learn the Auxiliary professions such as: Alchemist (Creates special potions), Disassembler (Disassembles items for materials), Animator (Creates APCs for battle), Chef (Create delicious food for buffs), Pharmacist (Create medicine and remedies for battle), and Blacksmith (Create weapon, armour and accessories).
Disassemblers (and Enchanters) will receive experience when their shop is used.
The other professions will gain experience as they craft or enchant.
"Buying herbs at a high price, contact me directly if you want to do business."
"Come down to my Disassembler shop. For a fee, I can disassemble any trash equipment you have. I can't do anything that's above Light blue equipment, so don't bother!"
"Yo! Buyin' em ores; if you tryna play, then I will beat ya asses!"
Many casual players that work for Gaming Workshops and guild members had set up various stands in the market near the edge of Ra Market. Where the sun fae elves are set up in the contest.
Sun Fae Elves are like elves with dark skin and hair that comes in varying warm colours, ranging from coal-black to golden blond. Many, but not all, Sun Elves wear dreadlocks. Their ears are usually long and slim, while their commonly brown horns are thick, long, and generally point upward. Their face markings are typically coloured in yellow or cream tones and often resemble the sun's rays.
The Sun Challenge in the Ra Auction House, going down the basement, is where the challenge is being held.
There are two empty fields: one for the Battle Nexus and the other for the Challenge Race.
At the moment, hundreds of players were standing in from of the field. Some even have popcorn watching other players complete the challenge…
Or more like trying.
The Challenge race is a training and testing place for players' capabilities. All their Attributes would be fixed at 10 points, and equipment bonuses are disabled. Players must dodge arrows while getting closer to the finish line under the time conditions.
The Elves have three ranks of challenges, Copper, Silver and Gold. Believe it or not, Sun Elves are the product of regular Elves and Dwarves that live in the Ignis Imperiale. After a challenge was completed, that was it. You can't do it again unless you go after the higher-ranked challenge.
In Gazei's past life, the guy who first to clear was a female Mage who got a rare skill book for Summoners.
After a short while, a male Thief (Rouge) on the field was stuck and was eliminated from the challenge. At the 20-yard mark only just 10 away from winning.
"Fuck, man! I was so close to winning! Do you have any coins left?" The male Rouge asked his guildmates.
A male Striker shook his head. "Boss, you used the money the three of us already given you."
"We don't have anymore, Raptor."
By the side, Gazei cast a gaze at Raptor and his team. He knew the name. Raptor was a slim fellow with white hair and an average face in black leather armour. Raptor, back in his life, was the number one rouge and thief in the Ignis Imperiale leaderboards.
At the same time, Raptor also shifted his gaze at Gazei. After sizing him, his eyes revealed a glint as if they had just found a new sucker. Raptor walked up to Gazei with a smile. "Hello, dude. I'm Raptor, a Squad Leader of the Demolition Dino Guild and senior of its Gaming Workshop. The Jurassic Axe Workshop. Spot me 5 Coppers to me today, and I'll return 20 Coppers to you tomorrow. Deal?"
Raptor was just ten yards away from completing the challenge. But, of course, he wouldn't give up like that. He had already figured out the Elves' patterns and was sure he would clear it if he had one more chance.
The Demolition Dino Guild was a large Guild that was well known in the Gaming Circuit both in virtual gaming, e-sports, and regular spots. Any gamer would know the name. Someone capable to become a Squad Leader and Senior member is quite skilled indeed.
"Bet", Gazei agreed but added something else. "But if you lose, you will have to pay me back 50 instead of 20."
Raptor, Blue, Tox, and Kalm were surprised. That some player would say something so outrageous to Raptor of the Demolition Dino Guild. Most players would ask favours or give him the money on sight at the chance of getting onto his good side.
"Nigga you five seconds before I walk away," Gazei said.
"Alright, I take it." Raptor wanted to punch the cocky motherfucker. Other players' literary simped over him, and here his a Street Fighter, not giving a damn.
"Alright here, the 5 Coppers." Gazei took 5 Coppers out of his 70 from selling the necklace at a higher price.
You can haggle or threaten NPCs to buy higher and sell lower to certain players.
With rage in his heart, Raptor took the 5 coins and added Gazei to his friend list so he could pay him back. "I will keep my promise to you."
"Yeah… yeah…" Gazei dismissively waved off Raptor and his party. He headed toward the fine-looking NPC with dreads.
"Alright, ya bastard, my time is money. Da hell you want?"
"Here, Five coppers takin' the challenge, miss mouth."
The Sun Elf narrowed her brown eyes at Gazei and pointed towards the door. "I hope you fail like everyone does."
"Like your opinion matters," Gazei said. He walked through the copper door, allowing him to enter.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have another challenger on the field. This player also has a month on him. So, let's cheer him on when he fails." The NPC from earlier announced to the crowd.
"Raptor! That punk that lent you the money is taking the challenge."
Raptor's mood changed from annoyed to giddy. "Ha! The kid thinks he can take on the challenge. Even if the yard is only 30 meters, the elves firing speed is no joke. I bet that kid will lose at the five-yard mark."
"I take that bet!" One random player with many more joining. Soon over a hundred players bet that Gazei would lose.
Inside the field, three Sun Fae Elves standing over the finishing line, reading their long bows, arming them at Gazei.
Above the field was a jumbo screen, and the timer started counting down.
