I walked through the bright New York streets that were bustling with activity. Luckily I placed some daily necessities in my inventory on a whim… so I took a shower in the middle of the desert.
I didn't need to worry about the smell since if I came home and Auntie smelled me, she would ask where I was.
I planned to eat dinner after running a dungeon but I lost my appetite from all the gross things I went through in the dungeon. I didn't mind the blood but swallowing that gastric acid and getting all of its stomach juice over me was just disgusting.
"Now there's just this…"
As I walk through the hundreds of New York citizens, I look into the sky where multiple black and green panels float in the air.
[You have sacrificed 482 small souls]
[You have sacrificed 1 large soul]
[Would you like to receive your reward or save for a bigger prize?]
I pondered whether I should find out what the prize was, or save up for something bigger. Due to my deep thought, I accidentally bumped into a large man. I looked at him and knew he was a delinquent that purposely targeted me.
2 lackeys were behind him with all of them having a cheeky smile. They chuckled slightly before opening their disgusting mouths.
"Hey girl, want to have some fun?" The main guy that I bumped into said before ŀɨċkɨnġ his lips.
He had brown long hair with an ugly face. He was tall but also fat, about 6'3 in height. His lackeys were also pretty fat but were about my height.
"Hey, bastard. You're ruining my food," I hear a familiar voice say.
Turning my head to a bench, I see Mia sitting on it with 2 massive bodyguards beside her. The trio of delinquents turned their heads with a face of anger but quickly swapped to a more appropriate expression for the girl in front of them.
Seems most people know her.
The delinquents started dripping with cold sweat while Mia's bodyguards moved towards them. Though the delinquents tried to leave, the bodyguards didn't allow it. Tripping them, they felt flat on their face while the bodyguards continuously kicked them and returned to Mia's side.
"Hey, let me tell you. The only people you saved are those fuċkɨnġ fatasses," I say walking towards Mia.
Her bodyguards blocked my way and placed their hands on my shoulders. They tried to push me, but due to my immense strength, they couldn't even budge me. Both tried to throw punches which I dodged without batting an eye and crouched on the bench next to her.
"So what are you trying to do?" I ask, emitting my bloodlust slightly.
At that moment I also realized one crucial thing that I forgot to do with the boss… I didn't grasp its bloodlust. I was in too much pain and was just trying to survive so trying to grasp its bloodlust would be near impossible.
"I-I just want to help out a friend?" Mia says, shrugging her shoulders slightly.
Once the bodyguards heard the word "friend," they slightly relaxed. But it was not like they could do much from the beginning. They were just willing to put their lives on the line to protect this little shit if I attacked her.
"Friend?" I say, moving my face even closer to hers.
"W-whatever! J-just Mr. Atlas told me to deliver this to you," Mia says, handing me a bag that says "4 Worlds."
"4 Worlds" is the name of the auction house that I recently visited. If my guess was right it should be the abyss drake set.
"Sly bastard found out who I was… well, it is what it is," I say, grabbing the bag from Mia's hand.
I take the bag and walk away after reeling in my bloodlust. Checking the contents of the bag, I saw my abyss drake set which I didn't know how to receive, but I guess I don't need to worry about that anymore.
"Now what should I do with the souls?"
…
I pondered to my apartment where I ended up deciding on saving the souls. At the entrance of my apartment was Auntie, standing there with arms crossed.
[1 large soul saved]
What is she so mad about? It's not like I have a curfew and the sun is just setting…
"You went to a dungeon didn't you?" Auntie says.
"Nah… I just ran into a friend and she gave me a gift," I say, showing no hint of wavering.
"Ah, that's great! You have a friend! But… I know you went to a dungeon,"
"What are you talking about?"
"... *sigh*... it's just my hunch. Normally they're correct but it seems it might be wrong this time…" Auntie says, clearly showing a face that knows the truth.
I just watch her enter the apartment complex and not long after did I follow her in. Once we got on the elevator I asked Auntie,
"Can we spar sometime? I want to learn the moves of a battle-hardened warrior,"
"Battle-hardened warrior? You mean ice cold maiden that shows no mercy. Don't compare me to those savages like Adam who just charge in without thinking. Well… I guess he has been doing better these past years,"
"You don't seem like an ice-cold maiden to me,"
"Yeah, yeah, say whatever you want. But you saw me when I was presenting to the class, that was me as the ice-cold maiden," Auntie says, proudly puffing out her ċhėst.
"Whatever… now can we spar sometime?" I ask once again.
"Of course, but I won't go easy on you," Auntie says with a smile.
"It would be great if you didn't hold back… oh we're about to hit my floor,"
DING
"See ya," I say while walking out of the elevator.
"Oh what a coincidence, I have the same floor as you," Auntie says, practically skipping to her room which was the one all the way to the left.
I just ignored her and entered my apartment. After taking a shower and brushing my teeth, I changed into my dolphin onesie while laying on my couch in the living room. Taking out my pen phone, I download "Watcher" which is just an app to watch videos that people posted online.
For hours until night finally fell, I watched the news about the world. It was something I had always wanted to do but never got the chance since I was always so busy and couldn't just ask my mom for her ŀȧptop to watch videos. She would've immediately handed it over to me whether she was in the middle of work or not… which wouldn't do.
Knock knock knock
Somebody knocked on my door as I was about to go upstairs.
*sigh*
Opening my door I saw Auntie standing right in front of me. She snickered slightly when she saw my onesie and asked,
"Do you want to eat dinner at-"
"Sorry, I'm going to sleep," I say, closing the door in her face and walking upstairs.
Diving into the soft sheets, I slowly fell asleep.
…
Mom was walking away into the bedroom and I chased after her. I finally got to see her but when I entered the room, I saw her hanging from the ceiling.
I heard laughing from behind me and saw James with his lackeys snickering at me.
I lunged towards him, trying to hit him with a roundhouse kick but I appeared back in my mom and I's bedroom… and she was hanging from the ceiling once more. The same laughing could be heard and once again I tried to kick them but ended up in our bedroom.
This repeated over and over until I couldn't take it anymore. I curled up in a ball, on the ground, covering my ears from the constant laughter. No matter how many times I called out for mom to save me, she didn't respond…
*gasp*
I sat up from my bed and looked around. I was dripping with sweat and noticed that my eyes felt puffy from tears. I was in my bedroom, in my apartment, on my bed, and not in my previous bedroom.
The description from my passive skill rang in my mind and could only hold my forehead in fear of the next nightmare.
"Maybe I should sleep next to Auntie… nevermind, that's a bad idea," I mutter to myself before plopping my head onto my pillow and falling asleep.
I was way too tired to get out of bed and get some water so I could only fall asleep while soaked in my sweat and thirsty as hell.
