"Hey Mia, order the drone to check the basement. I have a feeling Mason and the other members are there," Aria says.
Mia nods her head before ordering the drone to fly all the way down to the bottom floor. It then arrived at 2 metal gates that stood twice the size of me.
Mia pulls out the box-like phone that she kept on the stone arm next to her before entering the drone's app once again. She presses a few of the given buŧŧons, causing a long metal arm to stretch out from the drone.
The metal arm then presses against the right metal door, opening it very slowly. The scratching of metal almost made my ears bleed as all we saw once the drone had entered the room was an alleyway.
As the drone flew farther into the alleyway, we saw cages along the walls. Only bones were present within the cages, making my eyes narrow in worry…
"What the hell," I mutter.
As we flew even farther in, the bones were replaced by children who were either dead or had a look of no hope on their faces. I could only grimace at the thought of what they've been through.
"What a sick human," Mia mutters.
I look blankly up at Mia's comment.
"W-what?" She stutters.
"*sigh*... I guess it's not as bad as this, though," I mutter after looking back at the screen.
"Are you talking about bullying?" Mia asks hesitantly.
"What do you think… what's the worst you've done?" I ask Mia.
Mia seemed troubled by my question as she bit her lip, clearly stressing about what to do.
"A-are you sure you won't break up with me?" Mia asks.
"Hmmm… I hope not,"
Mia's troubled face only grew more fearful.
"D-do you want to ask another question-"
"Answer," I say, cutting off Mia.
"F-fine… I-I… I made a girl end up committing suicide cause I kept pressuring her parents after she annoyed me once…." Mia says very quietly.
My eyes were blank as I continued to stare at the screen. I didn't know what to say as I didn't even feel pity for the girl, but I know that she was in a somewhat similar situation.
If James decided to leave me alone after killing my mother, I probably would've committed suicide right after. I mean, she was my only reason for living.
"S-sorry," Mia mutters.
"Why are you apologizing to me? Shouldn't you be apologizing to the girl? Oh right, she's dead. How about apologizing to the parents? Oh right, they've probably lost their job and ended up dying, or they just committed suicide," I say.
"Lucy, can't you see we're trying to do better. Can you please not bring it up when we're trying our best at being better people," Ethel says.
Oh, I guess that is a dɨċk move.
"Sorry… oh yeah, now that I think about it, you haven't been bullying anybody as of lately," I mutter.
"N-no, it's still my fault for causing that girl to commit suicide… her parents… I don't know where they are since I got them fired," Mia mutters.
"*sigh*... That was my bad. I shouldn't have brought that up," I apologize.
"W-well, at least you've noticed that we're changing," Mia says.
"But, are you still going to hang out with that same type of people?" I ask.
It seems everybody was troubled by my question, but they didn't get to question themselves anymore as I could hear the slight chattering of people from down the hallway.
As we went farther down, the chattering was more audible, and you could hear the clanging of weapons.
CLANG CLANG CLANG
What appeared on the screen was Mason and about 15 members fighting with 10 more well-trained guards. The rest of the members and guards were dead at their feet.
Though he was only fighting against 3 guards, they seemed well trained, and they towered over Mason by about four more inches. They all used regular swords, which almost looked like toothpicks within their hands.
"Now, let's see what this guy can do," I mutter before leaning forward while still in Mia's ŀȧp.
The guards take a few steps backward after having their swords blocked by such a thin spear but quickly charge back in after Mason taunted them with a finger wag. Their eyes almost appeared to be blood red.
Once Mason felt they were within his spears range, he twirled the spear around his neck to build momentum for a swing that clashed against the guards' rock-covered knuckles. Though it didn't do much, small cracks could be seen.
It was clear he was playing for the long game.
Ducking under two more swords, Mason then lowered his body and planted his right hand on the ground. One more sword swung down at him, but he hooked his leg towards it, immediately breaking the sword in half.
It wasn't surprising as he had such a strong power stone, and of course, no family branch would buy high-tier gear for just meer guards. Of course, it would be better than normal, but against a B-rank and higher, they would have almost no purpose… and it seems the dumb guards overlooked that.
The remaining two guards who still had their swords brought them back down towards Mason, who just stood up.
Mason lifted his spear and blocked the two swords with the metal handle before crouching down. He pivoted his foot and redirected the swords away before spinning the spear around his wrist, which built up momentum for another strike to the knuckles.
The rocks surrounding the guard's hands instantly crumbled into pieces.
I think Mason goes for the hands because he wants them to lose all grip. Not just the grip around their weapons, but to the point where they can't even squeeze their hands shut for a punch.
I now watched even more intently than before.
Mason took in a short breath before sliding back and jumping up. Idiotically, the 3 guards charged in with 2 of the guards raising their swords in the air while the last one tries to send a punch flying at Mason.
SHING
The guard's hand had fallen off, and even though Mason was still in the air, he was able to dodge the incoming sword swings nimbly.
The guard who just lost his hand stumbles back and grips his forearm in pain as the black flames spread up his arm, forcing the other guards to cut off part of his forearm.
"I guess he could do that," I mutter, seeing Mason land back on the ground.
Though he just landed, he didn't have much time to take the initiative for an attack as a sword came swinging down towards his ċhėst. He took a step back and kicked the blunt part of the blade, slightly bruising the bottom of his foot, but he was able to break the metal blade in half.
But, it seems he was ready for it as his spear swung over his shoulder, blocking the sword before parrying it and swinging towards the guard's knee. The guard didn't decide to dodge as he just readied himself for the impact… which was a stupid move on his part.
Mason's fake worked as he had an open shot at the guard's rock encrusted knuckles.
BAM
The rocks surrounding the guard's knuckles and hand had instantly shattered, allowing him to retreat and get a slight nick in with the blade.
"HUFF HUFF HUFF… This is harder than I thought… Also, what the hell are you eating for your necks and body to be so fuċkɨnġ tough," Mason complains as he charges forward once again.
The guard who lost his hand was in the back as the remaining 2 guards charged forward, fists ready to block or punch anything that comes their way.
