"Alright, damn… It's Marina… Marina Amana,"

The brave calmed down upon hearing this and sank back into his chair, the misty appearance of a monster disappearing.

A faint glow could be seen under both of his pupils with their respected color.

"*sigh*... We didn't get to repay her… Then why don't we use this girl to repay the debt… Hell no. We don't even know if they're related. She could just be making this up… Then let's do a blood test… No… You just don't like this girl cause she's a monster, right… Of course,"

The man bickered with himself once again as I sat on the wooden chair tied by a scaly material.

Snakes…

It was the same snakes that wrapped me before, signaling the original intent was to capture me.

"*sigh*... We need to take a sample of your blood anyway… Yeah, follow us," The brave says, sitting up from his chair and tearing the snakes away from my body.

I was set free, but I knew that my life would end instantly if I tried to escape. One side of the brave liked me, and the other didn't. Who knows what could happen.

I followed the brave outside some curtains and realized we were in a pitch-black tent made from his shadows.

They were suċkėd back into the man's feet once we had stepped outside into the snowing, almost post-apocalyptic-looking city.

Monsters littered the city, piling on top of each other like they were lumps of dirt. Buildings were toppled, and injured soldiers, dungeon runners, and police officers had their wounds attended to.

"Follow me. I'll bring you back to your Aunt,"

His attitude adjusted once again as we made our way over to a group of people that exuded an aura close to that of gods.

It was unlike any monster I had seen… despite them being normal human beings.

"Auntie… I'm sorry," I apologize.

"What are you apologizing for?"

"For not telling you I had become a monster,"

"It's fine… We'll try and change you back, but even if we can't, I'll still love you,"

I began to leak tears once again as I tightly hugged the familiar cold body in front of me.

A few minutes passed, and we finally split apart.

As my emotions calmed down, I asked a question I had been meaning to ask for quite a while.

"How come I can feel sadness again?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Ohhhhhh… It must've been because I couldn't remove all of the subzero coldness from your body, and it began to spread once again. Luckily I got brave of fire to get rid of it… We're you feeling cold?"

"Y-yes… B-but Mia helped me stay warm," I respond, blushing a bit.

The surroundings braves heard this, causing their ears to perk up a bit.

"She's just like you, Tiana!" A large man with short, fiery red hair laughed.

"Y-you have a girlfriend?" Tiana asks in shock.

I responded with a slight nod, my blush growing a brighter red.

"W-where is she?"

"I don't know. The brave of light guy told me that she's helping tend to the injured,"

"Lex… Can you go get her?" Tiana asks the brave of light who was about to take a nap.

"Uh… Fine," Lex groans before closing his eyes.

Shadows swirled around him, and within a few seconds, they created something similar to a portal that coughed up Mia.

She was clueless as to what happened but then became flustered upon seeing all the braves.

She really is a fangirl…

"H-hello! Is there anything you need from me- oh, Lucy!"

Mia ran over to me, hugging me tightly and giving me a slight peck on the lips before turning around, holding my waist.

"I'm so glad you're safe,"

"Okay, okay… Hold on, you didn't get permission from me," Auntie says, splitting us apart.

"Why do I need permission from you?" I ask in disbelief.

Auntie glared at Mia for a second, causing her to shrink back, something I thought I'd never see.

"How has she treated you?"

"Good. Very good," I refute, and sparks almost began to fly between us.

"Are you sure? She didn't hurt you or anything?"

"No, okay! She didn't. Are you saying this because she's a young mistress?"

"Of course!"

"E-excuse me, but I've changed. I might've been a bit mean to her in the beginning, but I swear I've changed, including everybody else,"

"Who is this 'Everybody else?'"

"My friends," I reply.

"Just young mistresses," Mia replies, and a blast of cold aura exploded from Auntie, almost freezing Mia into an ice cube.

"You dare! Don't think I don't know what's happening behind the scenes! I won't let you corrupt my baby girl!" Auntie shouts and pulls me close to her ċhėst.

Soft…

"I-I told you we changed… H-how can I prove it to you?" Mia pleads as she gets on her knees.

"Stop, Auntie! She has changed!"

"Lucy, you stay out of this… If you want to prove yourself, then cut your arm off right here and now. It doesn't matter which one, just get to it," Auntie announces, and my face turns pale.

I tried to struggle out of her grasp, but she held me tightly while creating a fixed blade made entirely from densely packed ice.

She touched the tip of it just slightly, but that was more than enough for it to cut her skin, immediately drawing blood.

She threw the blade towards Mia, and she caught it with determination in her eyes.

"ARGHHHHH!"

Mia shouted in pain as her arm dropped to the floor, blood pouring out of a now gaping hole in her body.

"AUNTIE!" I shout before punching her in the stomach, knocking the wind out of her.

But just as I escaped and turned towards Mia, I noticed her arm was now back on her body, white lights floating around her.

"Huff… It seems you've passed my test," Auntie says with stupidly confident eyes, but her body which was hunched over in pain, completely negated the confidence.

I ran over to Mia, who was sweating bullets, and checked to see if her arm still worked… and it did. It was as if it had never been cut off.

"Thank you,"

A woman with silky white hair and pale white skin just nods silently with a benevolent smile, the complete opposite of Auntie.

"C-can you be my aunt-"

"LUCY!" Auntie cuts me off, and the brave of healing just silently chuckles.

"Anyway, you didn't have to do that,"

"But then she wouldn't have believed me,"

"It doesn't matter. We can just ignore her for the rest of our lives,"

Mia brings me in for a kiss while the other braves comfort Auntie.

And with that, a few hours passed, and the sun had fallen, and the moon had risen.

"Okay, so you all have a hivemind, am I correct?" Lex asks.

"Yep," We all reply.

"It has its ups and downs, but I feel like we can separate each other with just a bit of training… because I do feel us becoming one whole being," Mia says.

"Oh, that's not good. Well, we'll continue this conversation tomorrow.. You girls will come with us to the military base stationed outside the city, and I need to have another word with Lucy due to some special circumstances," Lex says, and we all nod our heads in compliance.
