In the event of a Lunar eclipse, the town of Minoth was set ablaze. During the chaos, the barriers protecting the citizens were nullified, resulting in monsters flooding the city.

And along those monsters, there were people who called themselves believers of The Lord of Ash, and they plundered everything they saw and murdered the citizens for their heads. Even the ones from knights and guards, who were supposed to protect the town. It wasn’t that they were incompetent. It was just that there was too much chaos at the same time.

And the timing couldn’t have been worse.

First, the sleeping beast in the cold Zederes mountains got woken up from its slumber. Despite being 5 days away from Ilifel, it served as a serious threat as its species Selges specialize in long-range destruction magic. Hence most of the military staff has been sent there to put it in a slumber again. And in the worst case, they would have to send The Hero or The Saint… maybe even both.

Adding to that, The Hero was sent on an escort mission to pick up the travelers that fell into this world from a celestial crack.

The Sages were out at sea, protecting Ilifel’s waters from oceanic creatures, and they didn't often leave the city of Mezen.

So… the only capable personnel of handling a raid of this level was none other than the elite squad Wyvern.

They were a group assembled around two years ago, and under its command was none other than their first princess.

Blood Moon, Silver Moon, and Princess was her title.

She was a genius in combat and got her position at the age of 16. At first, there were questions. Could she really handle it? Is she using her position as a princess to seize that position?

And the answer would always be: No.

She proves herself times and times again. And this time was not any different.

— :::: —

As Luna watches the town in flames while riding on her trusted wyvern Nees, she pats her as she stands up.

Luna was sent here with her squad, and although she was alone right now since Nees was the fastest wyvern, it resulted in her arriving first.

And Luna couldn’t just stay put and wait for the others while the city was engulfed in flames as monsters and criminals ran around.

“Nees lead the others to me when they arrive,” Luna says while materializing her blade.

Drruuun!” News replies.

“Good girl,” Luna says.

Leaning back and letting out a sigh, Luna descends toward the ground. And as she descents, she analyzes the situation on the ground.

People are being killed by morphed creatures as their heads are being taken from them.

(....What is this?)

As she gets closer to the ground, she uses wind magic to soften her landing and infuses her Moon Fracture with light.

Her surrounding was filled with nothing but monsters. People had been killed, they were left headless, and the headless corpses crawled to each other, forming an abomination.

Luna feels pity as she incinerates them so that they wouldn't suffer anymore.

She enhances her physical aptitudes as she inflicts a static infusion on herself and looks at the moon. She firmly held her blade and planned an efficient killing path based on what she saw from above. And as she senses the presence of the monsters in the vicinity of 500 square meters.

A path has been formed, and she blinks through her intended path and alleviates the suffering of abominations as she kills the monsters.

Her job now was to find survivors who couldn’t evacuate and kill anything else in sight.

And that night, the wyvern squad cleaned the town of potential dangers with the knights and guards. They later hunted down every cultist that initiated this horrendous act and hunted down the loose monsters that went out of control after the incident.

— :::: —

Later, when Luna arrives back in Ilifel, she feels exhausted. They had to hunt down every cultist in the woods and their pet monsters as well.

Ever since she became the squad leader, she hasn’t had many breaks. The demand for her squad was also high as they not only hunted down criminals and monsters but they were also responsible for networking in other kingdoms. Of course, Luna didn’t do that as a leader since they had specialists, and she was just there to oversee them.

Most of the missions that she was sent on were ones like these. She excelled in combat and had lots of other work as well.

And just as she thought she’d finally take a break, there was a knock on her door.

“.....”

(As I just got relaxed…..) Luna thought.

Luna walks over to open the door, and standing there is her uncle, Rigel Ilifel. He was the previous king and now serves in the military as the head of the command.

“...Uncle, is there more work?” Luna asks.

“Well… there is. We got wonderers on the way, right?” Rigeld says.

“Yes…?”

(What did they have anything to do with me?) Luna thought.

“We’re meeting one of them soon as they arrive with The Hero.”

“Aren’t they supposed to arrive tomorrow?”

“This one… let’s just say he’s cursed….”

“....”

“But it only affects him, though… and he doesn’t seem to have any problems.”

“I see… we’re just going to meet him before the others arrive?” she asks.

“Yes, we will ask simple questions about his civilization as well as how they lived their life so far. Pretty simple, right?”

“....Then I don’t need to attend,” Luna says, slightly annoyed.

“Well, if things go well, you can take a vacation from being dispatched for a while….”

Luna glances at her uncle.

“By that, you mean?”

“I’d like you to be an instructor,” Rigeld says.

“....Me? An instructor?”

Rigel nods.

“Yes, you.”

“....Let’s meet them then,” Luna reluctantly agrees.

— :::: —

In the meeting room, Luna sat down beside Rigeld, and there were 3 others there too. Pope Lue was one of them.

As Luna stares at the door, the wanderer finally steps in, and to be honest, Luna just wants this to end so she can go back and do her things.

The person that stepped inside was a young man with black hair. He has golden eyes as well as a well-defined face.

(Same hair color as me, huh?)

There weren’t many people in Ilifel or this kingdom with pure black hair, and his golden eyes were rather fitting.

Pope Lue starts to greet the wanderer.

“Greetings, wanderer of another world. I am Lue Edsow, The Pope of Kilenloth Church.”

“...Nice to meet you. My name is Alum Miller.” The wanderer says in a calm and relaxed tone.

“.....”

Somehow, he feels too calm, Luna thought.

But… she gets the feeling that he finds it annoying to be here and agrees with that.

“My name is Rigeld Ilifel, the military head of the command,” Rigeld says with slight surprise in his voice.

Luna picks up on this and realizes it as well. The air around this individual is very similar to her dead cousin she only met a few times.

Luna and Rigeld were occupied by this, and the other two had also finished their introduction.

“...My name is Luna Ilifel, commander of the elite squad Wyvern.”

She introduces herself, and their eyes lock onto each other as it is difficult to break away. And after a short while, Rigeld told Alum to sit down.

“We’re going to ask you some questions, or would you prefer to not answer?” Rigeld asks.

“Well… I will answer the things I can,” Alum replies.

And so they asked him some simple questions.

Luna’s take on this explanation is that his previous world was fairly advanced, as everyone with a thing called a smartphone. They had access to information across the planet as well as sharing it. They had no magic either and relied on inventions run mainly by electricity.

He then explains that, while he was studying, they got locked up and woke up in this world.

As he was explaining, there was a knock on the door.

“....We need to end this now,” Rigeld says.

He then glances at Alum.

“You want to take a look around the city, right? We have already prepared clothes and some money for you, and you can take a look around. Do you want an escort as well?” Rigeld added.

“...Thank you very much,” Alum says.

He then ponders for a bit before answering.

“But I will refrain from having escorts attending me.”

“....Is that so? Then, this meeting is over, and everyone is dismissed.”

After saying that, Rigeld glances at Luna. His eyes were telling her to tail Alum.

Luna nods and glances at Alum, and their eyes meet. It felt a little stern, and Luna gave him a small nod, and he’d do the same.

And later, when tailing Alum, Luna went with a fairly decent disguise. She looks like a fashionable young adult her age and is tailing him rather closely while blending in with the crowd.

Alum went from stall to stall, buying things to try them out. Not only that, Luna notices that he compares the prices between the different stalls that are rather far away from each other. He also seemed relaxed, and it did bother her slightly. After all, he was acting like a tourist rather than a confused wanderer.

While Luna follows him, he walks around a corner and enters another district. And as she got to the corner herself, he was nowhere to be seen.

(Huh? Where is he…?)

Luna was certain he didn't know that he was being followed. And this was just a coincidence. Even without her magic, there is no way she’d let someone out of her sight completely.

But then she looked to her left, and there she saw him waiting, seated and munching on some meat skewers as he stared at her.

“Hello there,” he says calmly.

Luna tries to ignore him to make it look like he’s hit on her.

“You know, you can ignore me all you want, but you’ll have to tail me either way. And what is the point if I already know?” he asks.

Hearing this, Luna turners his way.

“How did you know…? I look very different now.”

“It’s your eyes. I wasn’t able to tell right away since you blended in so well in the crowd, but the times our eyes met reminded me of the conference, and it seems like I was correct.”

(...What a blunder,) Luna thought.

“...What are you going to do, chase me away?”

Alum went quiet for a short period before looking into her eyes.

“How about you be my guide? That way, you can keep an eye on me, and I won’t have to be bothered by someone stalking me.”

(He thinks I’m a stalker now…..)

Luna sighs.

“...Well, what do you want to do, Mister tourist?”
