Feeling warm and cozy, Luna finds herself in the world of dreams. It was pleasant, and her heart beat fast. She couldn’t remember exactly what the dream was about, but… as she opened her eyes, she saw Alum sleeping beside the bed.

Fully awake and her eyes widen, she feels her face getting hotter as yesterday's memories fill her mind.

(Uwaaa!!!! I acted like such a spoiled child!)

Shaking her head and lightly hitting her cheeks, she glances at Alum, who is peacefully sleeping.

‘....It’s not good to sleep in that position, you know?’ Luna mutters as she gets up.

“...Alum, wake up.” Luna gently shakes his shoulder.

Slowly, Alum opens his eyes…. Their eyes meet, and Luna shyly averts her eyes. As she mutters something.

‘You’re finally awake.’

“...Good morning Luna,” he greets her while letting out a yawn.

He then stretched a little.

“....Sorry for occupying your bed,” Luna apologizes.

“Why? I was the one that brought you here,” Alum asks.

“...Right, a-anyways… this is quite embarrassing….”

“...Oh, sorry about that… I didn’t know where your room was.”

Luna shakes her head.

“No… i-its that… I'm embarrassed about being unsightly….”

Usually, she didn’t care. But for some reason, she just felt very embarrassed about the fact he saw her with messy hair and wrinkled clothes.

Alum chuckles a little.

“You’re not unsightly,” he gently says.

He then sits on the mattress.

“I think your bedhead is kind of cute,” Alum says with a straight face.

And taken by surprise, Luna buries her face in the pillow. She then sneaks a glance at him.

“You’re too blunt!” Luna complains.

And as Alum hears her retort, he blushes a little and realizes what he just said.

“....M-my bad,” he says while slightly covering his face.

(This is awkward… but it doesn’t feel bad,) Luna thought.

After some time in silence, they both hear a knock on the door….

‘....Luna, isn’t this bad?’ Alum whispers.

‘How so…? Oh… awaawaa w-what to do?!’

‘Hide,’ Alum whispers with a severe face.

‘But there is no hiding spot!’ Luna retorts.

‘Magic?’

‘We can’t use magic in the dorms!’

‘.....Just hide under the blanket.’

‘...I doubt it will work…. I know… I will just threaten them to not say a word.’ Luna coldly declares.

‘Oh! That works too’ Alum nods in agreement.

Looking satisfied with the conclusion, they both went to open the door.

And unexpectedly, there stood Sir Rigeld.

“Good morning, you two….” he greets them with a grin.

“....Good morning, uncle,” Luna replies shyly.

“Good morning Sir….”

Luna and Alum look at each other.

[We can’t threaten him!] Luna slightly panics.

[I… I doubt we need to] Alum replies with his eyes, later averting them.

And as Rigeld watches the two, he chuckles and walks into the room, closing the door behind him.

“Taking a princess back to your room, how bold,” he comments.

Of course… Alum couldn’t deny this.

“I didn’t know where her room was, Sir.” Alum calmly responds.

“...That’s right, uncle,” Luna also calmly replies.

“Oooh? Luna, are you perhaps defending him?” Rigeld asks with a wide grin while leaning on the door and crossing his arms.

“So what if I am?”

“What is your relationship then? Or, well, I know already from the documents,” Rigeld says as he laughs.

Hearing this, both Luna and Alum glare at Rigeld, and with sharp gazes at him, he clears his throat and looks at Alum.

“Anyways, Mister Alum, the church will hold a ceremony to welcome you wanderers. Of course, Luna will attend as well.”

“....Why come all the way to tell me?”

“Well, the other wanderers know already. Since you were missing from the morning meeting, I came to tell you. Of course, you do know the reason for me to personally come, right?”

“....I do.”

Of course, he did. If someone else came to get him, unaware that Luna was here, things would be chaotic.

“So, how about it?”

“How about what?” Alum asks as he tilts his head in confusion.

“If you get engaged, this won't be a scandal,” Rigeld says while looking proud.

““....What?””

“U-uncle, what are you saying!”

“What? I’m starting to get tired of my younger brother pestering me about finding you a fiance,” Rigeld replies.

“B-but….”

“Besides, you rejected every offer this far. You can reject this one as well, you know?” Rigeld says with a teasingly smug look.

“....Alum, say something…..” Luna shyly peas while holding the hem of his shirt.

“What are the ups and downs?” Alum asks.

“Do you think she is pretty?”

“....Yes…..”

As Luna hears this, her face turns crimson as she blankly stares at him.

“Right? A beautiful princess is what you get. Of course, there are other benefits to being her fiance, such as no one will bother the two of you, and you will have much more freedom to do as you wish.” Rigeld happily says.

“...I mean… what’s it in for you? I have no real value yet, and there isn’t much I can offer in return.”

“....Well, you don’t know your value yet, but… from The Hero’s report, you wanderers have immense potential, and with training, your value will grow.” he vaguely replies.

“....I see,” Alum answers as he glances at Luna.

“....I-I’m not against it,” Luna shyly says as she tucks his shirt and hides behind him, looking more adorable than ever.

“...In that case,  I see why not,” Alum replies.

He, too, feels slightly awkward as his ears redden.

“Ahaha…. Good! I wouldn’t know what to do if you didn’t accept. Since I already sent the documents to my brother!”

““........””

His words were met with yet another silence. But he didn’t mind. Rigeld actually knew it would work out. After all, his eye has never betrayed him.

Later that evening, the ceremony was being held to welcome the wanderers, and for Luna, it wasn’t any different for a banquet.

Out on the balcony, she sighs as she stares at the moon.

While everyone talks to the wanderers. Alum was dragged away with the oracle and other church members. Thus leaving Luna alone in this situation. She thought it could be fun if he was with her, but…. Seems like that wasn’t going to be the case.

And as time passed, and some people came to talk to her, one after the other, they all left since Luna would only respond without any interest.

Then Alum came back with the oracle, and she would approach him.

“Welcome back,” Luna said with a faint smile.

….It was still awkward between them since they were now fiances… technically, but… they didn’t have romantic feelings for each other. Still, neither saw it as a problem, and Luna could spend time alone with him without anyone judging them. Although she personally doesn’t care, the other aristocrats do.

Still, she isn’t entirely sure what her uncle thinks since this engagement was rather abrupt and out of nowhere.

But he always knew something ahead of time, so Luna wasn’t against it, she had been feeling somewhat fuzzy and warm when she was with Alum, and she didn’t know what it was. But she knows it's a pleasant feeling.

The next day, Luna was in charge of teaching the new recruits and the wanderers.

Among the wanderers, she sees Alum, he has a still and calm expression as always, but everyone else seems a bit tense….

“Tomorrow, I will be teaching you all. That’s why I want to know at what level you all are,” Luna says as she looks at everyone without showing any facial expressions.

And as she led them to the training facility, she would occasionally glance at Alum, who was talking to a female wanderer… she got a little annoyed for some reason, but… when taking a closer look, they looked like siblings, thus calming down her aching heart.

After that, a male wanderer began to speak to Alum, making her envy him a little since he was speaking casually with him.

Of course… this didn’t go unnoticed since the trainees noticed the temperature drop by a few degrees.

And arriving at the facility, she activates all the tools they need, and there are sparring weapons and training dummies.

“Before picking the weapon of your choice, you will demonstrate your magical capabilities.”

Luna then points at the practice targets and blasts one of them into pieces with electricity as a demonstration.

Seeing the instant cast of magic, they all gulped as they nervously watched the dummy's sorry state.

“Any questions?” Luna asks.

And with no one asking questions, they began to line up and chant magic. The new recruits did a reasonably good job of scratching the magic-resistant targets.

Then it was the wanderer's turn. They were not sure how to exactly execute a spell. However, they naturally used some spells that weren’t known, demonstrating that they were all fairly proficient in magic.

Next up is Alum's turn, and nothing happens. Luna looks at him with confusion and walks toward him.

“Alum, what’s wrong?” she gently asks.

Making everyone surprised. First of all, Luna didn’t remember the name of anyone. And second, her tone was gentle.

“Oh… Not sure, I just can’t,” Alum answers.

Luna circles around him, taking a close look, and notices a pendant around his neck.

“You have an anti-magic pendant, dummy,” Luna says teasingly.

No one had seen Luna smile even once, but… it was precious seeing her smile like this. Still… they feel envious and curious at the same time. What is the relationship between the two? Many whispers among themselves.

After Luna points it out, Alum removes the pendant, making everyone feel a surge of mana from him.

Looking satisfied, Luna nods.

Alum nods as well, and a spark of electricity appears in his hands. He concentrates it, and a beam of destructive electricity blasts the practice dummy into pieces.

He seems satisfied with the results if he does say so… but Luna playfully hits his arm.

“Too inefficient and uncontrolled,” Luna complains.

But… her expression seems somewhat happy despite saying so. Seemingly in their own world, the two continues.

“...Shouldn’t you praise me for doing a good job on my first attempt?”

“.....Good job,” Luna says shyly, turning her head to the side.

She’s never complimented another person before and feels awkward about it.

Seeing it, Alum chuckles. Thus making her pout and lightly hit his chest repeatedly.

Everyone just stares at them, not knowing what to say. After all, how could they be in this sweet atmosphere?
