In the military health center laid tons of injured soldiers, getting treated and healed back to health. Even after the mission, the Saint had more work to do. She and the other high-ranking healers are busily running around curing and healing severe cases of injuries. Even with the bit of mana she had left, it was still enough to use a few high-level recovery magic. Seeing their Saint work so hard motivated the mages to work hard as well. The Hero Chely wasn’t particularly good at recovery spells and had to help because of the staff shortages. However, she wasn’t the brightest when it came to supporting magic. She could at least cast low to mid-level healing spells since it was required in the military. As the cases dwindled, the more exhausted the mages. Amethely collapsed. She had overused her mana and suffered from mana exhaustion. The kind that would take days to recover. She had likely damaged her mana flow so severely through the sacrificial magic. Not only did she use high-level magic, but she also used it rapidly. This damage would probably last weeks to come.

Ah… it’s cold and dark. The feeling I’ve gotten to know as a child, no matter how many times. I never get used to it. I used too much of my magic; this isn’t good. It feels like I’m suffocating and falling deeper into a void. No matter how much I try to move my body or how loud I scream, nothing is always the result. At least, let me have a good dream. But that won’t come true either because everything is covered in darkness.

As Amethely woke up from her dream, she was in a familiar place. However, the perspective was slightly different this time, and it was a private room at the health center. With an apologetic look, she tried to get up, but her body didn’t want to listen to her. She had no choice but to lay down. (I can’t move… I will just have to pray someone comes fast.) Amethely thought to herself. But to no avail. No one came. Thus she decided to be obedient and listen to her body, and she fell asleep again.

“Is she asleep?” Chely asked one of the medical professionals. They nodded and told Chely that Amethely had damaged her mana flow and would take at least two weeks to recover. With a bitter face, Chely couldn’t help but peek inside the room. Worried about her, she went into the room and stayed by her side. Looking at her sister's sleeping face, she couldn’t help but feel guilty for having her work so hard. Sitting down beside the bed, she gently stroked her sister's smooth, silky hair with a soft gaze on her face and said. “You did great, Ame. Now rest well.” The doctors looked at the sweet sisters, smiled, and left them alone.

After waking up, Amethely could feel someone's presence. It was Chely peeling fruits while looking out the window. Noticing that Amethely had woken up, she smiled. “Oh, already? You can rest more, you know?” Chely looked at her sister, who had just woken up. Amethely looked apologetic. Not sure what to say, Chely gave her a gentle pat on the head. “You don’t have to worry about it, you know? I was distraught when you collapsed. Sorry to have you work so hard….” Upset at herself for not noticing that Amethely had been pushing herself too much, she grits her teeth. Amethely was unsure how to answer. She didn’t know that her sister had felt that way. She was slightly happy and sad at the same time. “I'm sorry big sis…. And thank you.” Chely looked at her and hugged her. “I'm so glad you’re alright, that's all. No need to apologize, okay?” In response, Amethely just nodded.

After the exchange, they both had small talk, and Chely tried feeding her some fruits, which Amethely refused and said. “It’s always like this. You treat me like a kid!” With a pouting face, she grabbed the fork for herself. “Pff…. Haha, not a kid, huh?” Chely said while Amethely was munching away the fruit. She glared at her big sister. “Why is everyone so mean to me these days? Even that guy teased me….” Chely froze. She saw an adorable expression her sister had never made before; Amethely was blushing and fidgeting, simply put. It was dazzling. (Wait, guy? A GUY!? Who in the world made Ame look this cute? I need to find him, wait! Will I get a brother-in-law now!? I will have an adorable sister AND brother!? Way to go Ame!) Chely had a big grin on her face and looked at Amethely with sparkling eyes. Amethely understandably confused thought that her sister acted strangely. “Um… big sis? What’s wrong?” As if waiting for the moment, Chely’s grin widens. “Well, who is that guy~?” Amethely gasped. (Noooooo! I didn’t just blur that out, did I!? I'm such a dummy!) Chely, looking at her sister in distress, started to tease her. “So Ame has finally found her a prince~ how nice~.” Amethely’s eyes began to wander as she couldn’t look into her big sis’s eyes. “No big sis Chely is a bully! It’s not like that at all! I accidentally fell asleep at the park, and he lent me his coat. That’s all!” Of course, those words did not stop Chely from prying into it more. Quite the opposite. “Oh, my~ he lent you a coat while you slept? Oh hooo~?” realizing that she had dug her grave, Amethely dove her head into the pillow. She started to cover herself with the blanket and peeked out from the cover with her face all red.

“So what happened after that?” Chely continued. Amethely still embarrassed that her little secret had leaked by none other than herself. Amethely started to speak. “... He also fell asleep. When I woke up, I felt warm and fuzzy. Apparently, I had been leaning on him.” Chely couldn’t hold back and hugged Amethely yet again. “Aww, what a lucky guy! And very bold of you. Your sis approves!” With nowhere to escape, Amethely just accepted her fate. “He was kind to me, and… we ate snacks together afterward.”

Chely listens joyously to her sister talk. “Then? And then?” Chely asked. “... No, that’s all….” Amethely answered, averting her sister's gaze. Chely gave her a questioning look. “Do you even know his name…?” Amethely didn’t answer. Chely could only conclude that she didn’t. (Oh, dear lord. She doesn’t even know his name! It just adds to the mystery!) “Then, how does he look? You do know that, at least right?” Amethely nodded. “Yes… he seemed to be a foreigner, a bit taller than me, black hair and golden eyes.”

Chely thought about it for a while and asked Amethely to give her more details. (it's just a hunch, but could it be that guy?) Of course, those traits are rare in the kingdom, and their firstborn princess shared some characteristics. “Say, Ame. Does he have a sleepish look on his face? Or does he feel aloof?” Upon hearing Chely’s question, Amethely’s eyes widened. “Yes! Do you know him, big sis?” Looking at Amethely’s reaction, Chely knew she was on to something. “Well, he is a wanderer from another world. He arrived in the capital four days ago. Did you, by chance, meet him four days ago?” Amethely answered with excitement. “Yes! Do you know where he is?” Chely, who had never seen her this way, giggled. “He should be in the military dorm. His friends arrived a day after, and they should have been learning magic in one of the training facilities. However, some seem to know how to use it instinctively.” Suddenly, Chely had a great idea. “Hey, Ame. How about becoming their instructor?” Amethely looked at Chely, surprised by her words. “But… is that alright?” Chely signed. “Well, we will have to ask the Pope. But considering that they probably don’t need you until it’s very urgent… I think it will be fine.” Amethely thought about it. She primarily studied magic, practiced her swordsmanship, and occasionally tended ceremonies. There wasn’t much she did. “Big sis. Let’s ask Pope Lue at once!” She realized that she had gotten a bit excited. She turned all red, blushing. Chely felt happy for her sister and couldn't help launching a hug attack.

It’s been a few days since Noel and the rest arrived. They were given two choices. Either become ordinary citizens or join the military and learn how to use magic. The answer was simple for most of them. They had arrived in another world, and there was magic. Most people would be curious and try learning about it. They all decided it was best to stay together in a foreign land. Of course, one didn’t want to. That was Alum. Uncertain of the decision of his friend. He tried asking him about it. “Hey, why not stay in the military? We learn magic and other stuff; we don’t have to think about food or rent.” His answer wasn’t obvious. He just said. “Oh, well, they will help you out either way. I don’t see the issue.” Noel couldn’t understand his friend sometimes. He was a capable person, and yet he decided to neglect that talent. Noel knew that Alum was capable. After all, he had seen, the status card.

“Then, at least won't you stay for us?” Looking at his friend with pleading eyes. It was one of the tricks Noel had picked up getting to know him. “... Fine, I’ll stay. Although in the base. I want to study and research by myself.” Noel was happy to hear those words, although there was a slight issue. “I will try to convince the higher-ups so that you can stay. This is preferential treatment. So it may be rough….” Alum sighed. “Well, even if it fails. It feels like I’ll end up joining you either way.”

A few days later, after their talk. The request was accepted, and Alum nor Noel actually expected it. Since it took them both by surprise, Noel asked why that was the case. The messenger didn’t have an answer and told them to wait. After a while, he came back and led them to a room. Swords and shields were hanging on the walls, even the city's flag. Behind the desk was a man, he looked around 50 years of age. He had a beautiful coral-colored bird on his shoulder and lots and lots of paperwork on the desk. (Wait, why did you call us if you’re busy?) Thought Noel. “Oh, welcome. I've heard that you did well yesterday, Noel.” Noel was surprised that the chief would know about him. Being in charge of the army must be quite the task. “Thank you, Sir.” The man looked over at Alum. “You’re the only one that wanted to leave at first? I see that they’ve changed your mind. Of course, for me more talented people, the better.” He said while giving a semi-cold smile.

“Well, Noel convinced me to stay. There are not many downsides to it, after all.” The semi-cold smile from before has somewhat softened up. “Not many downsides, huh? Such as?” He stared into Alum's eyes and released some mana making the air feel heavier. To which Alum tilted his head and said. “Well, I’d guess it's freedom. Besides, I feel like I won't be able to relax.” Noel didn’t understand. How could Alum be so calm in this heavy atmosphere? As he was about to cut in between them, they both started to burst out in laughter. Noel was very much surprised and looked at them dumbfounded. “You’re a great actor, aren’t you, uncle Rig?” Noel couldn’t understand. (Uncle? What is going on?) “Haha, the same could be said for you, Al.” The chief said while laughing. “Alum? Sir? What is going on? Do you know each other?” Noel asked them. “Well, I got to know Al when he first came here. He arrived the day before you, right? That day, he caught me slacking off and advised me how to slack off without others noticing.” Said the chief while laughing. Noel looked at them in disbelief. (Alum is getting to know people?) Thinking that, he couldn’t help but smile.

“I see; that's how you met. Then is the reason also related to that?” The chief had a serious expression and told him why. “Well, that was not all there was to it; since he has potential, it would be a waste to let him go. He also possesses more magic power than any of you, with some time that should grow exponentially. That was the first reason for the decision.” Noel nodded, and the chief continued. “The other reason is that we want to see how differently he develops compared to the rest of you. In an institution, there is a right and wrong way to do things. We want to see how creative he can get. The condition is that he show’s us his progression.” Noel could understand the reason for the decision, but wouldn’t it be better to split them into groups in that case? He looked at Alum as if to ask him if there was more to it. “Hey, uncle Rig, you’re not telling the complete story here, are you? Admit it; you thought it would be convenient to be able to call me to do paperwork when I decide to laze around, weren’t you?” With this, Noel had even more questions, and Rigeld ignored Noel’s confusion and said. “Brat, how is that my fault? You caught me, so I had to discipline you. It turned out you were exceptional after I taught you some. So I couldn’t help but make you work, you know?” Alum couldn’t believe what he heard. “What! Old man! How am I at fault you got caught!?” Noel excused himself, not understanding any of it, and left the room. Alum tried to follow, only to be grabbed by the shoulder. “Hey Al, you see all this paperwork. Help this frail old uncle, will you?” Alum looked at Rigeld. “Frail? You look like you can snap the neck of a dragon!” Noel was outside the office. He could hear the two argue inside the room and tiredly sighed.
