Chapter 12: The power of a genius

Harold's POV

Today Maggie told me that she is going to show the Prince some magic. I thought of this as a good idea so that I can find out if the strange mana I felt the day I saved his highness and Miss Crystal came from his highness. Maybe at that time his body acted on its own and unlocked a barrier that may have been put on his highness's magic.

I strategically placed myself out of their sight and observed them for a while. Maggie performed a simple basic wind magic spell known as wind blast. It was quite powerful, it blew off all the leaves of a tree they had chosen for their target practice. Ray seemed to request a turn, Maggie knowing that he had no mana tried to stop him but the child refused. After a few seconds, I felt the strange mana that sucked mana from the surrounding area. I now know the mana I felt that day come from the prince. The mana then seemed to stop sucking the surrounding mana, the amount of mana I felt coming from the prince was unlike any I have ever sensed. His mana was so strong that Maggie seemed to be barely holding on. He then performed the same spell Maggie had shown him but chantless. I was left astonished. His mana energy was so strong that a magic phenomenon happened around the mansion. The mansion experience what is known as a magical storm. A magical storm is a storm that occurs when mana energy forms different extreme natural phenomena such as lightning storms, hurricanes, tidal waves, volcanic eruptions or earthquakes due to intense mana pressure in the region caused by the intense accumulation of mana. It usually happens in strong magic areas known as mana regions. The only time I have ever seen a magic storm was when I went deep into the forest of monsters. I was now seeing Ray was not an ordinary being. I started to wonder if he is the reincarnation of the first Elf king in human form. It is said that the first Elf king was not only a king to the elves but to all other races. It is also said that the first Elf king had the most powerful mana energy among all the races throughout history. I quickly ran to the prince and told him to seal his magic for his magic power was too great it was causing something known as a magic storm.

When he sealed his magic I could no longer feel any mana being emitted from him. We then returned to the mansion. On entering I found that most of the servants had fainted from the pressure they felt from Ray's Mana.

I then knew I had to take some precautions. I ordered Trina, Steven and Merle to become Ray's personal bodyguards. They were also to take him down if one day Ray desired to destroy the world. Steven was to train Ray in combat since Ray's magic was too powerful and could bring a lot of casualties if used every time for protection. I asked Merle to teach Ray magic right after ray's elemental aptitude was determined. I would have chosen Maggie but Ray needed to learn magic from a higher ranking mage. Merle was an S class quad mage.

Merle's POV

Today I have felt the most strangest of phenomena I have ever experienced. I then come to know that this was caused by Mr Harold's illegitimate child. This news piqued my curiosity. I wanted to know how Mr Harold's child was able to do what he did. I then assumed his magic must have been sealed at birth because of the amount of mana he had. That was most probably to avoid him being followed by a constant magic storm. Mr Harold then commanded me to bring my appraising gear so that we could actually determine the boy's elemental attributes and how much his mana capacity was. I brought out my most expensive mana meter which could measure mana capacity up to 1000000 magicules and the magic attributor that could measure all the six elements. I then brought out the protective gear that I once used for a quest inside the centre of the F.O.M(Forest of Monsters). This was the first aptitude test that I had to use such expensive gadgets. All the staff was then given the "day off". This was so that they can relieve their stress about them losing consciousness after feeling the effects of the mana storm and to prevent them from feeling the mana storm. Master Ray was then brought to the appraisal room. I then told him to touch the mana meter and let his mana flow through it. When he did that the mana energy created such pressure in the room that I could even feel it through the magic nullification armour. The mana meter then recorded 1000000 and broke. I could not believe it. The child seems to have a mana capacity of at least 1,000,000 magicules. It could even surpass 1,000,000 magicules. This was insane since the highest recorded mana capacity in history was 800,000 magicules. We then moved on to the magic attributor. When he passed his mana into the magic attributor, it come out that he was a quad magician with 3 tangible elements and one non-tangible element. These were: fire, wind, water and light. The light attribute was the rarest attribute to achieve. Being a quad mage was rare but having the light attribute was even rarer. It is believed that the Light attribute is given to those with noble hearts. I thought that I was special since I was a quad mage with the four elements which are the fire, wind, water and earth with a mana capacity of 400,000 magicules but the kid who was in front of me proved that was nothing special. If this kid was not trained well he could hurt himself and others. I vowed to train him in magic to the best of my capabilities.
