Chapter 34: A party of more adventurers

Rae's POV

Trina and I registered as a party before we set out for our long journey. Our party name was 'The Crimson knights'. Trina herself was a very capable adventurer. I actually came to find out that she was a B rank adventurer. Well, Trina has always been a mystery to me. Even though we have a seemingly striking resemblance, we are completely different in a lot of ways. I have never gotten to understand her. Maybe through this Trip, I will come to learn more about her and understand her.

We travelled on the road for several days before we come to find another town. On our way, we met a group of strangers being attacked by bandits. Trina on seeing this quickly jumped into action. We could easily identify the bandits since they were not trying even to hide it.

" Rae stand back and watch as I stop these people from inflicting pain onto others."

She then mumble something under her breath and soon enough she had disappeared out of my sight.

Out of the blue, she was behind one of the bandits. The moonlight was shining on her crimson hair. Her face was still stunningly beautiful even after being tainted with an expression of anger. Her movements were so fast that I couldn't keep up. I was in awe but at the same time terrified.

"Note to self. Never anger that woman, she is completely terrifying."

After that one-sided beat down with almost every bandit near death's door in seconds from their confrontation with the she-devil, she signaled at me to go to her.

" Go check on the passengers of the carriage."

" Okay."

Before I could even lift my feet to move an inch, a new threat emerged. It was monsters. This was my first time seeing them. They were beautiful at the same time macabre. The creatures were all looking at us with terrifying looks. The level of ferocity displayed by their whole bodies as they moved was screaming out keep away. Trina not even flinching at their sight just mumble something then soon the whole place was filled with a red mist. My field of vision was completely blurred when she did this. I could not tell North from South or east from west. A few seconds later the mist cleared out and the ferocious monsters were nowhere to be found, instead, the monsters were all turned docile that one could mistake them for domesticated animals.

" Now that's better. You all look quite loveable when you are not trying to kill us. Now go back to where you come from."

The monsters which were two grey wolves, an orange fox and some sort of horned bear went back from where they came from.

" What was that red mist you just created?"

" It is a special spell that can only be done by an extremely strong demon from one of the royal families usually referred to as an archdemon. The spell overtakes some monsters giving arch demons some control over the monsters. The stronger the animal, the harder it is to maintain the  control on them."

Then the face of one of the passengers was seen peeping out of the carriage trying to assess if it is safe to come out. On seeing the unconscious bandits, the man came toward us

" Thank you very much for saving and protecting us. How can we ever repay you."

" We don't need any payment. It is all in a day's work for an adventurer. "

" You sure must be a high ranking adventurer to be able to defeat all these bandits so easily. I thank you again. I haven't met such a kind high ranking adventure like you who is not after money or fame, most of them usually are."

" So what are going to do with these bandits M's Trina?"

" I think we should tie them up and then take them to the nearest adventuring guild. The guild will deal with them from there on and if there is a reward on the we can collect it."

" Oh, are you travelling to the next town to?'

" Yes... yes we are"

" Oh then can I ask you to join us on our Journey but before that, we have an adventurer who was travelling with us. She was hurt by those bandits when we were attacked. She is at the back, if any of you can use recovery magic please help her."

I looked at Trina then in a silent whisper

"Should I help her? I know I should keep my abilities as a light magic user a secret but she may die if I don't."

" Okay help her but these people should not get to know you have light magic. So we will do it out of their sight."

" Okay."

" Okay. Yes, my young sister over here can perform recovery magic but she does not like to do it while people are staring at her. So please show us the hurt adventurer then give her room to do her thing."

"Then right this way"

When I got there I saw a woman covered with a black cloak. Her entire body was covered in that I could not tell what her face or her body looked like. She was lying down on the ground producing some faint whimpers. She must have been in excruciating pain. I tried to get close to her but even in her weakened state, she was defensive about anybody getting near her.

" Miss can you please just allow me to help. If I don't it may not be good for you."

"No... Do...n...t..co..."

She then lost consciousness. It was pretty clear what was the reason. She seemed to have multiple bruises. Her stomach has been stabbed, it was pretty amazing that she was still alive let alone conscious. With no eyes on me, I jumped into action repeating the magic circle I used to heal Mr Harold. A blinding light engulfed the woman's body that was now uncloaked.

"Oh yes, it worked. It seems that her wounds are closing up."

"She must have been so defensive because she is an elf."

"Yeah, that explained it."

"Any way next time please do the spell when am not around since your light magic is still able to hurt me. Although it was a little a I felt a surge of pain throughout my body when you activated it.

The elven woman's wounds had all been healed but she was still unconscious. I guess she may have lost too much blood from her stab wound. We carried her to our carriage since the carriage she was in was not big enough to accommodate her unconscious body with the now tied up bandits filling it. We then continued the journey following the strangers' carriage behind.

After a few hours, the woman woke up.

"Where am I? ...Who are you?"

"Oh you seem to have regained consciousness but you still need to take it easy. Although I healed your wounds you still need to replenish your blood since you lost a lot of it."

"Who are you again?"

" Am Rae and this Trina. We are members of the party crimson knights."

"Wait where is my cloak?"

"Here it is. We do not discriminate so don't worry."

"Oh that's good I think. I am Helen Thank you for healing me."

"No problem. So what are you going to do in the next town?"

"Oh am searching for my lady. She was kidnapped by slave traders and..."

"I hate slave traders. I still remember what they did to my family."

"Are you in a party?"

"No."

"Then join our party we are on a mission of gathering High ranking adventurers, maybe you may find a clue to where your Lady was taken on one of the many towns we are planning on visiting."

"Okay. But once I find My lady I leave the party."

"It's fine we appreciate it. Welcome to the crimson Knights."
