Chapter 5: What a reincarnated genius is made of

Crystal's POV

We have been travelling on the road for 4 days now. We are about 390000 horse strides (400 km) away from the capital. About 10000 horse strides (10.2 km) from the forest of monsters. The air is already thickening from the dense mana that is being emitted from the forest of monsters. The forest of monsters is one of the places known as mana zones. This is because of the amount of mana coming out of it. Mana zones are places in which there is a dense amount of mana that sometimes causes anomalies in the nature of the place. They are also good spots to find monsters. Monsters are usually attracted to places filled with mana. I am still wondering why her Royal highness instructed me to take her firstborn child to the forest of monsters when he is still one day old. As I continued asking myself this question the adventurers that were with us suddenly commanded the coachman to stop. They then told me to get out with the baby. What were they planning to do? Was the question that come to my mind. I then asked why I was to step outside with the baby. They then told me they had to complete a mission given to them before we reach the forest of monsters.

I asked what mission it was. They then gave me a terrifying glance. The man said excitedly " To kill you and the child!!! ha!ha!ha!ha!"

The man then quickly unsheathed his sword and then pointed it at me.

"Get out of the carriage!"

I open the door.

"Before I get out I would like you to tell me who gave you the order."

"The second princess obviously. She told us to make sure that the child dies since he is a disgrace. Now get out because I do not want to ruin this perfectly looking carriage."

What was I supposed to do now? Her royal highness princess Diane has ordered for our assassination. I then stepped out and then began to ran. Immediately I heard the female adventurer say a lot of words hurriedly and unclearly like she was speed chanting then finally she shouted "Wind blast" I immediately felt a gust of wind blow from behind me knocking me down making me trip and almost hurting the baby, but by good luck, my hand cushioned his fall. He then crawled out of my hands. I tried standing up to pick him but I couldn't. The fall had sprained my ankle. I started asking myself  softly "is this the end?." And as if to answer my question the child held my hands looked at me then left them and started looking at the adventurers. His body then started glowing brightly like light from a lightning strike. The next thing that happened left me in awe wondering if this was truly a one-day-old child. 

Gene's POV

The moment I had feared has now come. The killers have now taken up their weapons and it looks like they want to finish the job.  The woman who I first saw is engaging them in a conversation. I then asked Liza to activate the defence mechanism she was talking about. It took about three minutes to get it to work. In these three minutes, the woman who was holding me was now on the ground. I decided I must help save her since she is the only person who has tried to take care of me.

Since the method I was going to use was going to affect people around me I asked Liza to concentrate the electron energy around my hands and feet first. I then used this energy to catapult myself towards the killers. Their faces looked surprised. I then landed on the woman's face. I then asked Liza to surround my whole body with electron energy. When this happened the woman became electrocuted which caused her to faint. She was then repelled away. She was repelled with so much force that it flung her over  10 metres. The man was not standing down. He covered his sword with flames and then his body with the same flames. He rushed in with all he had. As he was nearing me his momentum seemed to reduce. I assumed this was because of the repelling effect of the electron field. His flames then vanished and immediately he fainted before he entered the vacuumed zone. He was then flanged over a distance of 4m. Immediately after that battle, I  blacked out all that happened after I had no idea.

Coachman's POV

It has been a long journey. I was given a job to transport 3 people and a baby. The second princess ordered me to take them to the outskirts of the forest of monsters where I was to drop them off. Crystal was to be escorted to the mansion that belongs to the second princess which is located on the outer rims of the forest. The princess said she wanted her child to bathe in the mana energy that is around the forest so that he could grow strong.

Right now the adventurers have stopped me. I assumed that one of the members just wants to answer the call of nature. The conversation that I heard next left me dumbfounded. What was I to do now?

I just stood there and watched what was happening in disbelief. The scenes I saw left me in awe. I was not able to do anything. After the battle that had taken place between the Prince and the adventurers, I decided to give Crystal a horse so that she could escape this mayhem with the child. She climbed on it after picking up the child who had now fainted. She then headed straight for the forest of monsters. I then prayed for her safety since the forest of monsters was not something you could easily come out of alive. The adventurers then woke up after an hour of Crystal leaving. They then asked me where the prince and Crystal were. I told them that Crystal stole one of the horses I had and headed straight for the forest of monsters. They then told me to detach the 3 remaining horses from the carriage so that we could use them to go back home
