Chapter 57: The witch in tow and a secret history uncovered

Rae's POV

"Good evening miss Velmont."

"Good evening to you too Mr Principal."

"Take a seat."

"I prefer standing up. So may I inquire as to the reason why I have been summoned."

"Straight forward as ever I see. I have summoned you here today so as to introduce these two women to you."

"Okay!"

"This is Elise and Cilia."

"Nice to meet your acquaintances, Cilia and Elise. I am Rae Velmont."

"My queen, I have long awaited for this day to arrive. Ever since I gazed upon your face, I have yearned for a chance to meet and be by your side. My heart beats for you and you..."

"My princess, what are you doing? Sorry for that."

"Ahhh...Mr Principal why was I summoned here again?"

"You were summoned here so that you could take in these two women."

"Why should I take these two in when I barely know them?"

"Well Cilia here is a princess from the Stokes kingdom and Elise is her bodyguard."

"So because of that, I should just be willing to take her in?"

"Ahhh...The Queen gave me the order that I should find a suitable place for the princess in the school. Unfortunately, I cannot put her in the commoner or noble dorms. The only dorm I can put her in is one of the royal dorm houses."

"Let me guess mine was the obvious pick because I am a girl from a barely known family"

"Not exactly, well the first part is sort of correct."

"Are you serious? You want me to take her in just because we are both girls?."

"Ahhh..."

" My queen if I may be so imprudent as to say. I recently lost my home and my family. I am now in a fairly foreign land seeking refuge as my blood wants me dead. I know that to you we have just met but to me, I feel like have known you for the entirety of my life. I have grown up always feeling your presence and each waking day I have yearned to wake up by your side. I always see you every time I..."

" Well, ok... This is new. Sorry, Cilia was it? I feel really uncomfortable when you are constantly referring to me as your Queen when I don't know you. I would like you to stop.

"But..."

"Anyway for the living situation, I am willing to take you in since I can sympathise with your situation."

"Thank you very much Miss Rae we appreciate your kindness."

"Yes, thank you miss Velmont for being understanding and taking in the nine-year-old foreign princess."

" So is that the only issue I was summoned to tackle or is there another reason why I was summoned. For now, it is but you should be expecting a royal summons from the royal castle."

I walked out of there with the two women following me. We headed straight to my dorm house. Once we arrived at the dorm house I introduced them to the other girls, showed them their allocated rooms and gave them a chance to freshen up.

"I think I will stay in the same room as my princess, I must always keep her safe. Having another room will be a hindrance to that mission."

"As you wish."

After they freshened up, they went and had dinner.

I went straight to the open-air bath where I soaked myself relaxing my body and letting the accumulated fatigue depart my body. 

After a nice soak in the bath, I went inside for dinner. Then straight to bed. When morning came I woke up and did my usual morning routine. After a nice breakfast, I went straight to the library. Pico joined me. Today was the day I browse through the forbidden part of the library.

My goal was to find a quicker way to revive the dead. When I tried entering that part of the library, the librarian quickly stopped me in my tracks.

"You are not allowed to enter this part of the Library."

"I don't think you should stop me. The Principal should have told you how much access I have"

"But even I myself are not allowed in there so why are you?"

"Don't stress yourself, it is a part of an agreement we have. I have unrestricted access so please don't mind me."

She hesitantly let us walk in. We walked into the forbidden section of the library, It had fairly many books. As I was browsing through the section I saw many different books like Witches and sorcerers, A Celestials data entry from 1-2, A record book documenting all people of royal blood and so much more. I did not see a book with any information about resurrection magic.

I got curious and looked through the books A Celestials Data Entry 1 and 2. I thought maybe it will have some secrets containing the type of magic I saw the celestials perform in the past and maybe even resurrection magic within its pages but woe unto me. What I found out was quite unsettling. 

The book was a record of events that took place a century ago including experiments done on a celestial. I call it experiments but it was basically torturing of the poor celestial for his information. 

The record is a vivid description of what happened when humans found out about the existence of the celestial race.

 From what I have read so far the celestial race lives up in the sky away from other races. I still don't know how that is possible, maybe they have special magic responsible for that functionality in their floating city. They usually send their people down here to get human women who they can procreate with. This is done every couple of centuries. The celestial said that the purpose of doing this is is to dilute their blood once so often so that they don't have deformed beings. Humans according to the Celestials are the closest to their species thus they can tolerate the impure blood. Other races such as elves, demons and beast-man blood are way too corrupted in their eyes making them only go after human women. 

The Celestial who was captured was after a woman of royal blood and when he attempted to kidnap her he was shot down by magic and locked up. The Upper Nobles and Royals were the only ones who knew of the locked-up Celestial. There was an argument between the King and the Grand duke at that time. 

The King wanted to repay the debt he felt they owed by using the Celestial for his abilities. This was by forcing him to sleep with other women of royal blood so that they can have a powerful bloodline with a new type of magic and characteristics at their side. The Grand duke on the other Hand believed them to be gods thus doing such a thing would invoke their wrath and cause the extinction of humankind. Seeing them as gods made him feel like locking gods up like how the king had done was a sacrilege to them and what the king was about to do was even a more sacrilege to them. 

This argument led to a civil war and eventually, the Kingdom split into two with the king ruling the original Bermone and the Grand duke ruling The now Stokes kingdom.

Bermone never revealed the existence of the celestial race while stokes adopted it as their religion.

Although I did not find out much about resurrection magic I learned something about the history behind the civil war. Pico seemed to be quite in shock at the same time fascinated with the existence of another race.

We left the library and headed straight for our homerooms. The little princess who was quite clingy found me and followed me everywhere that day. She really needs to learn boundaries.
