Chapter 69: Welcome to the elemental plane of fire

Violet's POV

Since that day that I visited hell, nightmares have been a common occurrence. I can't seem to figure out where I went. Were heaven and hell real in this world? If they are then why was I sent there?

I remember the Darach saying that it's one of my gifts. What type of gift has the ability to send its owner to Hell? That in my eyes is not a gift l, it is a curse.

" My princess, the Darach has been asking for you."

"I am not going anywhere close to that tree. I will not be sent back to hell."

"But my princess if you do not train your abilities, you may end up harming yourself."

"I will not use them at all then. That should prevent me from accidentally using my 'gift'."

"But my princess..."

"I won't hear it. Let me just continue sleeping."

The door at the far end of the room was suddenly opened. The light from outside illuminated the dark room I was in bringing life to a oh so lifeless room.

"My Queen, May I ask you to join us today."

"I am not leaving this room. I can't have what happened happen again."

"Is this because of that incident?"

"Of course it is."

"If you let fear cloud your Judgement you will never be able to grow."

"It is not clouding my judgement it is making me cautious. I can not let my curse hurt those who are around me. Remember how I told you fire magic is a curse. This just proves it now. I just wish I did not have these abilities"

" You should not be thinking that way...We should be able to embrace all parts of ourselves. The parts that we consider good and even those that we consider bad. We cannot be complete if we cannot accept every part of yourself"

"I don't think...I don't think I can."

"You will never know unless you try So what do you say. Are you willing to visit the Darach?"

"No, I don't think I am."

"Ok...I know that you are scared that you might hurt people with your abilities but if you don't learn how to use them then you will definitely hurt someone."

"That is a little bit harsh of you but... Yeah, maybe you are right. I think should at least learn this ability and its capabilities so that I can shut it for the source."

"That is not exactly what I meant but I am glad you are going to see the Darach."

"Helen would you please help me prepare for my meeting with the Darach."

"Definitely my princess. I am glad that you are finally getting out of the house."

"Okay, I leave it to you two. Bye for now, see you later."

After that, I prepared myself and soon I was at the Qliphoth with the Darach.

"Queen Iris I appreciate you coming today."

"May I ask that you do not use my true name, It is a little bit unsettling."

"Wait, do you want to send me back there? I thought that I was here to learn how to get rid off this, I mean control these abilities."

"We cannot do anything until we understand how they are activated."

He then touched me on the symbol of royalty but unfortunately, nothing happened.

"Well we tried, Looks like it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing."

"Wait maybe there is something missing... If I recall you were sent to a fiery landscape after being engulfed in fire. There must be a connection somewhere... I got it. Did you use any fire magic before the incident?"

"Fire magic!!... I am sorry to say but I despise fire magic with all my being so unfortunately for you I did not."

"Oh. And the way I really thought that that was the answer."

"Ah, I remember now. It was not much as using fire magic but I did try to conjure up some flames."

"Then I think that is the answer. If you try to access the flames and then we try the process again maybe it will work."

"I...I don't think I can. I hate fire magic as previously stated."

"But you have to at least try."

" Even If I try the flames are not going to answer my call."

"Just try, even if the flames don't answer your call just channelling that intention of using fire magic may be the key."

"Ok am going to try."

I did what I had done before when I tried to access fire magic. At first, nothing happened but then the temperature of the air around seemed to slowly rise but soon after drastically dropped.

The Darach did what he had done the first time around. It at first seemed to be another failure but then it happened. The flames engulfed me again and the temperatures rose just like last time. My body started to sweat profusely. 

The heat kept getting even more and more unbearable. I could feel that my body was about to give in to the heat by fainting. This heat is not like the one I faced last time. What is the problem? What has changed? If I do not do something I might end up dying of heat stroke.

Maybe I can conjure up some Ice? Unfortunately, that is not possible I am engulfed in these flames so water is not accessible.

What of wind magic? No that won't work I barely know how to use it. Maybe with my connection to fire magic I may be able to control the rising temperatures. I don't really like using fire magic but unfortunately, I just have to in this situation.

So, how exactly does fire produce heat? From my memories as Hina, I remember something about fire being a chemical reaction that occurs when fuel is burned in oxygen. The products produced are carbon dioxide and water. This is due to the bonding that is happening between the atoms. Energy is released in the form of light and heat.

From that explanation, I understand that I need either to lower the amount of fuel that is burned in oxygen or lower the amount of oxygen itself.

I assume that the fuel is my mana, but still, that will not make sense. I am a High elf meaning I don't give Spirits my mana for the magic to happen. So how exactly do these flames work?

Maybe I just have the ability to affect the flames directly? If so I may try to control them the way I did with water magic. 

I have been so scared of these flames for a long time letting them control me now it is time I controlled them. 

I accept that the flames are mine even if they are big and scary they are a part of me and because of that, I am the one who will dictate how they flow.

Soon after I decided to command the flames to slowly die down and let the temperatures decrease and just like the water I actually could manipulate it.

 It was very interesting what I could actually do with the flames I was so afraid of. I found out I could control how hot or cold they could be even what type of flame I could control

After what seemed to be an eternity I was back there but unlike last time, this time I had a person waiting for me.

The fiery atmosphere of that world did not seem to be affecting me anymore. 

In front of me was what I can only describe as a giant. He was as red as hot coal and as huge as a mountain.

"Invader!!! Have you come to push us out of our homes again? This time we will not go down without a fight."

His voice was so loud and thunderous that I imagine it could be heard for miles. He then picked me up and clutched me tightly within his fist.

"I will now take you to our King. He must know of your presence."

King? So Hell also has a king. Wait, Did he just call me an invader? Driving him out of his home? What is that about?
