Rose's POV
As of now, my country is in major trouble. I have just learnt that half of the kingdom has been subjugated right under our noses.
What a bad queen I have turned out to be. Our current situation is looking to be very dire. The nobles are all turning against me. The commoners are looking really disappointed with my rule.
My incompetence has led to this situation. I should have known they wouldn't necessarily invade through Carmine Village but still why did Stokes Betray their principles? Does the current Monarch really want Bermone to fall that much? How Hypocritical of them. Guess I should expect anything from them going forward.
The foreign princess should really grow a little bit faster and take back her throne.
Anyway Venting at how bad of Monarch I am or how Hypocritical Stokes is won't solve the problem.
Currently, the main problem throughout the kingdom is a lack of resources. Our Economy has collapsed because of the invasion by the demon forces. We don't have enough supplies to afford this war. So the best thing is to come up with a way we can sustain our armies and try to take back as much of our regions as possible
"Your Majesty as we have shown you, the current state of matters is very very bad. Our army does not have enough force, Half the country is under the demons' control, the people are really scared and the nobles are well they are just not looking to support your rule anymore."
"So what do each one of you think our next course of action should be?"
"If I may be so imprudent to say but I think that we should do a forceful conscription where all the common adult male populous should be enlisted as soldiers so that we can improve the numbers of our forces."
"Lord Strungmore, If I may ask how long do you think it will take to train the common men so that they can be battle-ready?"
"Maybe four to six months."
"And in those four to six months do you think the demon forces will just wait around?"
"Ah..."
"And even if we had those four to six months do you think we have the resources to train them?... We don't have even enough food to feed them so how are we going to afford to give them weapons? Your majesty, I don't think Lord Strungmore's has the best suggestion."
"So what do you think we should do Lord Gudheart?"
"I think the answer should be obvious. The upper nobles should each contribute some of their private forces to the front lines so that we can add to our main forces. They should also share their stored food supplies with the kingdom more especially the military..."
"Lord Gudheart do you believe that the upper nobles would be willing to go with such a plan?"
"I am not sure your Majesty but I believe they have no choice. We are currently being attacked by an invading force and cannot afford to be greedy with the little resources we have. We must protect our country at all cost."
"Your majesty what about getting volunteers from the Royal Academy. Many of the students there are quite exceptional..."
"Have you lost your mind? They are only children Lord Fulfeith. How will our country rise back again if we don't have a younger generation to pass the torch to?"
"And if I may ask Do you think if this continues we will have a country to pass to the younger generation?"
"But they are only children they don't have that much experience with wars..."
"And our adult soldiers do? We haven't had a war since a hundred years ago so all of our current soldiers also don't have experience with wars."
"Do you think the children will agree?"
"That is why it will be voluntary"

"Your majesty, Please put an end to this Lord's Madness."
"I don't think we have much choice Lord Gudheart."
"Your majesty, are you actually considering it?"
"For now we are only brainstorming options of how we can raise enough forces. Speaking of which I would wish to incorporate adventurers into our army."
"Adventurers?"
"How your Majesty? You do know adventurers are not easy people to get to work with?"
"Yes and because of that I am going to give free access to our dungeons to any adventurer who participates in the war."
"Your Majesty...That is basically making the dungeons public. It might be imprudent of me to say but I don't think that is the best move. You will be..."
"I understand your concerns but by free I don't mean free free. I mean free from the control of the Nobility but they will still need to pay entry fees through their guilds."
"I don't think this will go well. You will be antagonizing the Nobility."
"We don't have a choice. We need numbers in our military force and besides after the war the funds that will be gained will be used in rebuilding."
"Okay, your majesty...So which way are we going to recruit soldiers?"
"We will be doing all the suggested methods but in Lord Strungmores plan we will not make it forceful conscription, we will make it voluntary.
An army led by fear and oppression is doomed but an army led by their conviction is guaranteed to succeed.
Once we get the numbers we will immediately concentrate our forces at the cities bordering the demon-captured cities. A strong chain of command with good enough flexibility will be established and constant communication with the heads should be maintained. We will not let that mistake happen again. The borders will also be thoroughly patrolled and I will be expecting daily reports so that we can all know when there is an anomaly I will make sure not to let this happen again, As I promised that young girl I will not be ignorant to what is happening in my kingdom again."
I know that we should plan for an invasion to get back our cities from the demons but for now we can only afford a defensive strategy
After the war meeting was over received news that my younger sister Princess Diane was coming .
I really don't like her visits. She has always been the devious one.
Maybe she is here to sprinkle salt on my wounds concerning either my failure as a ruler or my failure as a mother or even both. What a ruthless sister I have.
She keeps on reminding me of the son that I lost and bragging about her children. I still miss my sweet baby boy, I wish he was still here. I suppose there is nothing I can do about it.
Her heartless character always seems to amaze me I can't believe we come from the same mother. Even if I find her character annoying she is still my sister I just have to receive her with open arms.
