Silvia started running again with her brother following closely behind her. They hopped over a huge rock and slid down a slope laden with fallen autumnal leaves. The slippery surface caused Amich to tumble briefly.
“Come on Amich!” Silvia got distracted by focusing too much on her brother. Because she was looking behind her, she couldn’t avoid crashing into a low limb that caused some of the items from her pouch to fall out.
“Sister!” Amich looked back at his sister who had stopped to retrieve the fallen items. “I’ll help you.” He turned back and was about to dash up the slope but received a stern warning from Silvia.
“No! There is no time to waste.” She refused his help and told him, “Go on ahead. I’ll be right behind you. Go now Amich!”
“Alright.” Amich abandoned his sister behind and fully alighted the leafy slope. He ran straight ahead through some tall shrubs until he came upon a clearing where a lot of gravel was present. He arrived at a railway that he attempted to cross when his foot, unfortunately, got stuck between some rusted bars.
“Ouch!” Amich bent his knees and started prying the rusted pieces of metal from clamping on his foot. “Get off me!” During his arduous efforts to free himself, he noticed the smaller stones across the tracks beginning to vibrate.
‘Rumble!’
“Why are these rocks jumping up and down as if they are agitated?” Amich began to wonder about the mystery of the phenomenon occurring around him. Soon he glanced afield down the narrow curve and saw an incoming cargo train heading directly at him at full velocity.
“What is that long metal creature?” Amich had no idea what this vessel was exactly nor why out of all the places it could go it chose to come directly at him while making those loud noises. Although he wasn’t aware of the science at play, Amich knew he was in danger if he didn’t free his leg very soon.
“Get off me already!” His wild animal instinct gave him the strength he needed to tear through the restrictive metal embrace and freed himself. However, he was still in the clutches of death’s domain.
Amich was in a standing position facing the intimidating metal creature that had him paralyzed with fear. His mind knew he needed to get out of the way, otherwise, he would be squashed but his body wasn’t responding accurately.

Choo! Choo!
The train was only several feet away from laying waste to Amich. His figure was so small that the operator at the helm didn’t notice him in time to slow down the train. He began experiencing the palpitations of a lifetime.
Ba-dump! Ba-dump! Ba-dump! Ba-dump!
“Amich… he’s in danger!” The audible cries of Amich’s heart were somehow comprehended by Silvia who had just finished stuffing a grimoire back in her bag at the slope. She instinctively knew that death was about to grasp her brother’s soul and send him back to his designated timeline. Of course, she couldn’t allow this atrocity to happen, not to her only brother.
“Amich! I’m coming!” Silvia’s hectic distress awakened something latent within her unique biology. As the rumbles of the speeding train increased to a deafening crescendo so did her speed.
Silvia was rushing to save her brother as fast as she humanely could. Her heart became so overworked that it eventually stopped beating entirely. During that moment of stillness, her darkened liver started secreting green plasma throughout her endocrine system. This plasma awakened hidden properties inside her blood which exaggeratedly increased her physical potential.
Silvia’s dashing figure became almost phantasmal as she acquired a trail of black-emerald glow mostly around her feet. She started moving so fast that the gravel beneath her feet was scattering as if a vertical lighting stream was dashing by.
Silvia wasn’t entirely aware of what was going on with her body; her main focus was dead set on saving her brother’s life. Because of her unparalleled tenacity coupled with her paramount velocity, Silvia made it within reach of the railway just as Amich was inches away from getting slammed by the train.
