The museum door was unlocked.

From a closer look, ones could see the green paint on the windows peeled off a lot, the paper-cut for window decoration pasted in the New Year had faded a bit, the red of the paper looked discolored, and Fang Hongbo, whose age was more than half a century, looked at Wei Yuan behind him and reached out his hand to push the door open.

There was a squeak on the door.

The slightly rusted security door opened inwards.

It’s spring now and it’s already quite warm outside, but it’s still a little cold inside. The wooden shelves were filled with folkloric ornaments, all of which were no longer common in modern society. The house was not small in size. The inside and outside were separated, with the outside being a folklore museum and the inside housing people.

The living quarters were one room and one bathroom, apparently originally occupied by the master’s family themselves.

Wei Yuan also saw an open bottle of Coke on the table.

Having turned around inside and outside, Wei Yuan’s right hand always clasped that Crouching Tiger waistband medal. As long as there was a movement, he would immediately go away. But it seemed that just because he had overthought, or that red embroidered shoes had caused him to be slightly shocked, the Crouching Tiger waistband medal was lying lazily without the slightest change, like an iron lump.

That’s right. How can you see a ghost anywhere you go? It’s not like Conan, the detective in fantasy fiction.

Looking at Wei Yuan who had walked through the house, Fang Hobo wiped his sweat and said.

”How’s that? If you don’t think the deal is working, we can compromise.”

”And you don’t have to do anything, just keep this museum open, I’ll pay the utilities for you, and in addition to it, you’ll be paid eight hundred a month for the groceries, it’s hard to find a job lighter than this in the Quan city.”

Wei Yuan nodded as his fingers rubbed the lines on the Crouching Tiger waistband medal, which was cold and silent.

  ”Then sign it.”

  …………………

The requirements of the contract were very lenient.

Even to the point of being a little too lenient.

Fang Hongbo finally said to himself, that if he didn’t want to do it anymore,  it was time for this museum to close.

Then he drove off without a backward glance.

Wei Yuan watched him leave and felt something strange in Fang Hongbo s reaction, but the Crouching Tiger waist medal was an ancient object that would react when the red embroidered shoes passed by, and now that he was already standing here, the Crouching Tiger waistband medal was quiet as usual, so obviously there were no demons of the wronged or evil spirits here.

Maybe it’s Fang Hongbo’s sensitive mind and his old age that made him give way to foolish fancies.

Coming to think of it, the folklore museums, paper figures, these things seemed a bit sinister.

Wei Yuan had been busy for a while, brought over the bunk and such, and threw the opened and undrunk bottle of Coke into the trash. He opened another bottle and had a lot more peace of mind with a job.

  ………………

A few ghosts, invisible to the naked eye, came together and stared at the uninvited guests. They muttered repeatedly. Their attitudes were full of mischief.

”I didn’t expect someone to come on this second day, and he is full of the ‘Yang’ spirit of life.”

”Isn’t it because of your crow’s beak who constantly talked about something inauspicious that casts a shadow on misfortune?”

”Can I be blamed for that?!”

”Who is to blame if not you?”

”He’s the one who came here, go ahead and blame him! “

  ”You ……”

  ”Knock it all off!”

The water ghost got a headache hearing the quarrels and mediated the quarrels of the two noisy ghosts. Looking at Wei Yuan who was drinking cola, the water ghost didn’t show good intentions in his eyes, he said, “First, let’s scare this living person out. His life aura of ‘Yang’ is too strong. His presence brings inconvenience to us.”

”Okay, so what’s it going to take?”

”We can barely manifest ourselves in the middle of the night, the moment when ‘Yin’ of the gloomy aura is strong, so we can scare the hell out of him first and get him scared in his mind before he can be scared away at night.”

  ”Okay, let’s do it!”

  ”Side by side!”

Wei Yuan was closing his eyes to restore his energy, with his fleshy mortal eyes in broad daylight, it was even more difficult for him to see the ghosts or to hear their muttering. Then he heard the sounds of creaking. Opening his eyes, he saw the open burglar-proof door shakingly and slowly closing up.

Eerie voices were heard, making his blood run cold.

It was darker inside the house, so the lights were on, illuminating the room during the day.

The incandescent light began to flicker.

A flash of brightness and a glimpse of darkness came alternately.

  Pitter-patter, —

Once, there was the sound of water coming from the bathroom. Read the most updated version of this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at Novel Multiverse – “NovelMultiverse dot com”

  Tap-tap-tap ……

Later, there was the sound of flip-flops treading on water.

Wei Yuan had sensed that something was wrong. His eyes were half squinted and his right hand grabbed the Crouching Tiger waist-medal with a death grip, but the Crouching Tiger waistband medal never reacted, ignoring this strange phenomenon. In his mind, Wei Yuan compared the red embroidered shoes and the situation he was encountering at the moment, he vaguely grasped a bit of the key points.

The red embroidered shoes were murderous, stern spirits that cause the Crouching Tiger Belt to react.

<There are ghosts there, but it won’t make the Crouching Tiger waistband medal, which hunts the ghosts and monsters react.

Does that mean the ghosts here are basically harmless?>

Despite this, Wei Yuan decided to go out first.

He also didn’t expect that there would really be a ghost here when he took along the Crouching Tiger belt medal on a whim

Several ghosts cheered when they saw Wei Yuan’s movements, and the water ghost, proud of himself, stretched out his hands and grabbed Wei Yuan’s shoulders, coming up to his neck, intending to blow his breath to scare this young guy. He reached out and winked at several other ghosts.

  ”Look at me ……”

The blackened nails touched Wei Yuan’s shoulder.

But it was like grabbing a red-hot iron.

As soon as the water ghost shivered and his hands glowed red, Wei Yuan felt the Crouching Tiger waistband medal in his hand tremble a little, and a burning sensation came from it, and there was a low sound of tiger’s growling, lazily, as if it was unable to summon all the energy.

Wei Yuan vaguely sensed something behind him.

Instinctively, he turned, grabbed the bronze medal, and swung it as if doing hard physical labor.

The water spook was cupping his hand and blowing on it.

Seeing Wei Yuan’s movement, he didn’t even dodge.

Ghosts are residues of the vital spirit that the physical body can’t even touch.

Not to mention a lump of iron, but swords and guns can only go through the body.

Just showed its teeth and rushed to a few ghosts on the side, saying,

”No, the key point is difficult to handle, this guy’s ‘Yang’-life energy is too ……”

  The words were not finished.

A bronze-textured waist medal pressed solidly against his head like a slab.

  Dang!!!

  ………………

  How does ghost bashing feel?

If Wei Yuan could describe it as taking a wooden stick and hitting a big ball of marshmallows.

Or squeezing screaming chickens and such.

It felt alright in his hand.

It’s quite comfortable and stress relieving.

If you run an event in a modern city you should be able to earn quite a bit.

After smashing that ghost, the Crouching Tiger waist medal buzzed slightly, Wei Yuan felt something and found a piece of white paper and pressed the side of the medal with the word Wei on the white paper, immediately an ancient script emerged, but it was completely different from the wanted statement concerning the Red Embroidered Shoes before.

”A wandering soul, which has not eaten blood, has no grievances, has never been killed is regarded as harmless.”

”There is no need to do away with them.”

  ……………………

A moment later, Wei Yuan pulled a chair and sat against the wall.

His left hand rested on the table, his right hand tucked in his pocket, holding the Crouching Tiger waistband medal that still emitted a burning scent.

A row of ghosts crouched in the front corner holding their heads.

Holding the waistband medal with heat energy, he could barely see a circle of the ghosts’ outlines, but when the ghosts moved he couldn’t see them any longer.

Five in all, three ghosts and two paper figures of the underworld.

With effort, one could only barely see the outline of the three ghosts. Meanwhile, their voices were not heard. Wei Yuan used the crouching tiger waistband medal to knock on the heads of the few ghosts there and then stamped the medal on the white paper. The text produced in the white paper was completely different from the text concerning the red embroidered shoes of the severe ghost, telling him that those were just ordinary wandering souls of no grievance.

Wei Yuan also guessed a little more about the medal. It seemed that this waistband medal only reacted greatly to the kind of resentful and severe ghosts, and it had no response to the harmless wandering ghosts.

There was no way to hear their voices, and although Wei Yuan was a little curious about these harmless ghosts, he was still holding the medal, using it to intimidatingly shoo away the ghost to another room, locking the door behind him, to express his attitude towards them.

The first time these ghosts saw someone who dared to beat them up, it crossed their minds, the ghost removal Taoist priest or something like that scared them, hence they didn’t dare to come out.

Wei Yuan flipped through the crouching tiger waistband medal in his hand.

So far, the waistband medal had reacted twice, once when the red embroidered shoes of the suspected evil spirit passed by, and once when the unlucky ghost came into contact with him—like a kind of a standard ‘input-output’ mode, giving feedback through certain information from the outside world.

The presence of a poltergeist would cause the medal to give feedback.

Without knowing whether or not the medal would react for him.

Or probably it could suck his blood, couldn’t it?

Wei Yuan, who had developed a great interest in this never-before-seen world, clasped his right hand around his medal. Thought it over, and, generally speaking, the input and output should be connected, so he imitated the tone of the writing on that white paper and said, “What is the method of the Sili-Lieutenant’s bonding, while the eyes cannot see directly into the beings of the nether world, what should be done?”

The Crouching Tiger Waistband was unresponsive.

I shouldn’t have been that way.

Wei Yuan thought about it, recalled the words on that white paper on the first day, thought about it, and said with a solemn face, “Now there is a strange force that has offended our divine state, and I wish to apprehend and exterminate it.”

”Nay, what can I do since these fleshy eyes of ordinary beings cannot see the ghosts?”

This time, the Crouching Tiger waistband medal lit up with a slight tremor.

Wei Yuan’s heart beat slightly faster, feeling like he was stepping into a new world.

  It’s possible…
