The time flow didn’t seem to return to normal, as it was still freezing. Morgan slowly opened her eyelids, while the strange feeling she had felt before passing out was no longer there. Even her vomit was nowhere to be seen on the ground near her. She held her head with both hands and raised her body, slowly. When she fully regained her senses, she turned her head around and found out that it was still freezing in time.

“It’s not over yet, is it?”

Morgan mumbled to herself while raising her guard once again. It was just a matter of time when Cthylla, the unknown being, would appear from nowhere. At least, that’s what she was afraid of.

[Oh, you’re awake!]

Different from before, she clearly heard the voice directly in her ears. It was from behind and Morgan quickly turned her body. What she found was… a girl that had the identically same appearance as her, but with much paler skin and black haze coming out from its body. The girl’s eyes were gleamingly red, while the white part was jet-black. It was quite scary, but Morgan, who had encountered much scarier beings before, albeit only their presence, didn’t seem to be that afraid.

“What did you do?”

A simple question that was straight forward from Morgan’s brain. She knew the girl in front of her was Cthylla, but for what reason it copied Morgan’s appearance, Morgan clearly had no clue. One thing for sure, Cthylla was definitely different from the beings from before.

[You see? It’s been a looooooong time since I woke up from my slumber. How long was it again? Two millenniums? Or was it three?]

Cthylla made a strange gesture by placing its hand on its chin, indicating that it tried to recall the exact time. What Cthylla said confused Morgan. At least, Morgan knew that the body’s age she was now residing didn’t even come close to the time that Cthylla mentioned. But somehow, Morgan didn’t detect any lies coming from Cthylla’s words, albeit it was unbelievably hard to believe.

[You… didn’t seem to doubt me at all. Say, are you that tough or just pretending to be one?]

“... It’s simple…”

[Simple? My existence?]

Morgan shook her head calmly.

“You’re different from those beings from before. They didn’t show me their real body. I could only feel their presence and it was annoying.”

Cthylla made a troubled expression on her face. Judging from that, Morgan was now clearly convinced that Cthylla was definitely different.

[You… called my parents annoying?]

A slight hatred could be felt from Cthylla’s words. It was unclear whether Cthylla was angry by the fact that Morgan called its parents annoying, or the otherwise.

“You mad?”

Fearlessly, Morgan provoked Cthylla by sneering and glaring at it. Seeing that, Cthylla only heaved a sigh and shook its head in disbelief.

[You know I froze the time flow and still act like that? You’re really interesting, Morgan.]

Cthylla approached Morgan slowly, but in Morgan’s eyes, Cthylla was moving at a tremendous speed, to the point she could barely follow Cthylla’s movements. Cthylla then hugged Morgan’s body temptingly, as it also caressed Morgan’s back in a dirty way.

[You see, by copying your appearance, I can also read your memories. You surely had a rough time back then, right?]

Cthylla continued to caress Morgan’s body, but strangely, Morgan didn’t feel anything aside from getting disgusted by the way Cthylla touched her.

“What do you know about me? If you’re trying to provoke me using my memories as your weapon, I doubt you’ll succeed.”

[I know it already. We’ve fused into one so I clearly know what you’ve been feeling. But, Morgan, you see…]

Cthylla whispered right in Morgan’s ears as it let out warm and moist breaths at the same time.

[What if I said… I could even resurrect the dead?]

Morgan's eyes twitched. She was extremely shaken by its tempting words, to the point she almost lost control of her fortified heart. But as hard-headed as she could be, Morgan only let out a sigh and uttered.

“I know what you’re trying to do. So, what do you want? I bet you want me to get rid of those parents of yours.”

Cthylla, in response, pushed Morgan away while showing its wide smile, revealing a set of jagged teeth similar to a shark’s. Its expression was exceptionally nasty and hard to look at, but at the same time, it was bewitching and tempting, enough to make a normal person fall into their deepest and wildest imagination. The gap between its expressions was just that great.

[Ahahaha… How do you know it?]

Cthylla, once again, approached Morgan. But this time, instead of hugging her, Cthylla’s blue tongue was sticking out and reached for Morgan’s neck. Gently, it licked Morgan’s neck like a tentacle.

[Well, it’s better not to rush things up. You haven’t even known what I’m capable of, right? Then… How about this?]

Cthylla’s body started to melt into black gelatinous liquid, forming a huge lump of slimy liquid on the ground. A moment later, it began to shape into another woman’s body. It took the appearance of a young woman in her early 20s. With long dark brown hair and slightly tanned skin typical to any hispanic woman, the woman was around 160 centimeters tall and had  stunning looks. Cthylla completely copied the appearance of the woman Morgan had known in her past life, to the point where Morgan knew that woman too well. Seeing that, Morgan gaped her mouth open and stuttered.

“Aaaah… Aaah… Aaaaaaah!”

The young woman gasped and covered her mouth in disbelief. Her teary eyes and loving demeanor inflicted a nostalgic feeling in Morgan’s heart. With a soft and sobbing voice, the young woman uttered.

[Morgan? Is that you?]

Speechlessly, Morgan lowered her head and started to mumble things, while the young woman leaped and embraced Morgan tightly.

[I miss you so much! I’m really glad to see you alive. Please Morgan, don’t go anywhere ever again. Will you promise me that?]

“... off”

[Hmm? What did you say?]

“I said, fuck off!”

Morgan pushed the woman away from her and almost instantly, kicked the woman right in the face. When the woman fell to the ground, Morgan jumped and sat on the woman’s stomach.

“How dare you mimic Sara! Return to your real form, you monster!”

Enraged, Morgan started punching the woman’s face cruelly.

“Sara is already dead! And there’s no fucking way she said those things! She wouldn’t forgive me for leaving her alone! What do you know about her? Return to your real form, Cthylla!”

With raining punches flying from her fists and the painful feeling on her skin, Morgan somehow started to grin eerily. Every single punch reflected Morgan’s anger, despair, and fear. She could feel her sight getting clouded from being mad uncontrollably. Her skin started to peel, and gradually, her hands started to get smeared in red, along with the sticky sensation and rusty smell coming from the blood.

Why does it have to be like this?

I should just destroy everything…

Fate? Destiny? Gods? Monsters? Screw all of them!

Everyone shall know pain!

… Hahaha!

Ahahahaha!

Haha──!

The more she punched the woman’s face, the angrier and crazed Morgan became. Her fists no longer felt painful from the impact. She had lost it. By the time Morgan stopped, the woman’s face was no longer recognizable, showing only peeled skin and flesh, mixed with the blood and a slight glimpse of skull. Several teeth were stuck on Morgan’s fists.

“Haaa… Haaa… Haaa…”

Morgan was panting so hard due to the excessive energy she had to exert just to maintain her punches. Her hands were trembling, and the pain that had gone before started to appear slowly. Morgan stared at the ceiling and started to laugh uncontrollably.

“Hahaha! Ahahahaha! Hahahahaha!”

A moment later, the woman’s body jolted. Morgan instantly ceased her laugh and looked down while making a seriously mad expression.

“... Do you think I’m already done, Cthylla?”

Morgan clearly knew she wasn’t able to muster any strength on her arms anymore, and like a feral carnivore, she used her mouth instead. She bit the woman on the already unrecognizable face and tore the flesh directly with her teeth, leaving the woman squirming in pain. A mushy, stretchy, and irony sensation spread through her palate buds, along with a rusty and bloody aroma from her now smeared red face.

It was a really nasty and disturbing sight to behold. But Morgan didn’t have the time to think about that at all, as rage had already taken over her. Morgan chewed a little and swallowed the flesh with a single gulp, and weirdly, she liked the taste. It amped up her rage and thirst for revenge even further, straying away from common sense that made her ‘human’. The more she bit and chewed on the flesh, the more energized she became.

She didn’t stop there. Morgan’s arms that were supposed to go limp, somehow regained their strength. She then pulled the woman’s arms as hard as she could and tore the sinewy part on the joints by biting on it directly. Morgan continued on devouring, literally, and grew more and more conscious of what she was doing. But everything was too late. Morgan had completely succumbed into the taste and lost all her reasoning.

♦ ♦ ♦

A few minutes had passed, and what Morgan saw through her eyes was a complete mess. The objects that were scattered in front of her belonged to the woman earlier. Bones, lumps of lean meat and fat, a small portion of intestines, tiny ponds of blood, even clothes drenched in blood were the only things that remained.

“... Haaa…”

Morgan, completely lost in her own world, touched her glistening red lips gently and moaned sensually. Her right hand reached for her crotch and she felt tingly all of sudden.

[Are you done?]

The remains from the woman started to gather and melted, again, and formed a lump of slimy black liquid. Not long after, the slime gradually changed its appearance into Morgan’s.

“What was that supposed to be? Were you really trying to provoke me?”

Morgan lost the smile on her face almost immediately. Cthylla, that was already in Morgan’s appearance, giggled.

[No, not at all. Did you like that? I mean, devouring your loved one! I was speechless and couldn’t do anything when seeing you being like that! Seriously, Morgan, you’re the best!]

Cthylla squirmed and shoved its index finger on its mouth.

“You’re still okay even after that? What a monster…”

[Oh hell no, why don’t you look at yourself now? I’m not the only monster here!]

“Shut your mouth. So, what were you trying to do?”

Morgan was strangely calm, as she crossed her arms while from time to time gulped her saliva. The taste of flesh and blood seemed to linger in her mouth, and it was quite easy to understand that she was addicted to it, in a bad way. The ecstasy she had felt before completely erased her doubts on Cthylla.

[I was trying to prove this to you. I’m your only ally. That’s all.]

Cthylla grinned and approached Morgan, while slowly changing its form into a huge black slimy creature, wiggling its tentacles.

“It should be clear to you, I won’t tolerate anything like before. No more changing your form into people from my past life. If you agree to that, I promise I’ll help you get rid of your parents. But in exchange, what do I get in return?”

After hearing that, Cthylla seemed so happy and quickly melted her form into black liquid. Before Cthylla responded, Morgan briefly added.

“And one thing. No resurrecting the dead.”

[... Tsk. Booooriiiing… Okay, okay. Let’s see… How about…]

Cthylla whispered as she seeped into Morgan’s shadow.

“I see… Don’t people always say you’re a wicked shit for that?”

[Jokes on you. I’ve been wicked since the start. So, how does it sound to you?]

Morgan smirked as she started to walk towards the hangar’s exit.

“Do I really need to tell you? I’m in.”

[It’s a deal, then! Oh, I forgot to turn off the time stopper!]

With a clicking sound inside Morgan’s head ringing, the time flow returned to normal, showing the port that was bustling with people doing their things.
